  1. Congrats to Clay, I have zero issues with players taking a game off for a birth of a child (or a death of a relative), some things are more important than the NFL.
  2. Couldn't ask for a better start to this half!
  3. Got lucky holding them to a FG, hopefully we can get a score before halftime.
  4. Nothing like snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
  5. That field is a mess, damn.
  6. There we go, a TD at the end of a long successful drive! Good job offense! Also, I love that Mike is our one cut power back this year, he's killin it
  7. Damn good drive, but we need to not outsmart ourselves when we get in the redzone.
  8. Ideally, I fully support some system of universal healthcare. That being said, I don't trust the US to do it, due to the revolving door between for-profit interests and Congress.
  9. Any opinions on Trump talking to the President of Taiwan? First POTUS(elect) to do so since 1979, I believe.
  10. Our bubble size (quality of injuries) is smaller than a lot of teams with the same or better records...
  11. I think most people would agree, Tyrod's the best we've had in a long while. But like you, I also think he's not good enough to put the team on his back. Thankfully we have a strong run game. Unfortunately our defense is pretty middle of the road, but hopefully they finish strong this year.
  12. While I haven't been happy with Tyrod, he's also the best we have available to us (afaik), so yeah, keep him around I guess. Draft a guy in the upcoming draft, and hope he shines, I suppose too. And see what Cardale has. I assume EJ walks.
  13. It's pretty clear that Sammy hasn't been worth his production. Health has gotten in the way, and our play style/QB talent, definitely factor in. That being said, if he's healthy, he's one of the best WRs in the league, and would certainly be worth the picks on a team that'd use him as such.
  14. Is it possible that we'll be 'down' 6 WRs this game? Watkins, Woods, Goodwin, Salas, Harvin, Powell? That's some good ole Buffalo luck, there.
  15. I think the stat is, the Bills are 12-2 when Tyrod throws for under 200 yards. And 2-9 when he throws for over 200 yards. Essentially he's not good enough to win a game through passing production like some of the better QBs in the league. He's definitely a 'game manager' that depends on good rushing/defense to win. Which is fine, that's the best we have, and there's not much available out there. But we can still hope for better.
  16. Personally, I like looking at average drives for the bigger picture. http://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2016/#all_drives http://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2016/opp.htm#all_drives What this tells me is... overall all, our offense is slightly better than average, and our defense is slightly below average. With a record of 6-5, this isn't really that surprising. The big thing that stands out to me is that we are winning the TO battle, and the field position battle. That being said, as I've mentioned elsewhere, not all TOs are created equal, and I'd like to see our QB be more aggressive. On the defensive side, our biggest problem seems to be first downs given up due to penalties, where we rank 30th. Giving opposing teams free first downs while being an average defense does not help us at all.
  17. For reference re 3 and outs: https://www.sportingcharts.com/nfl/stats/three-and-out-percentage/2016/ 26th in the league in 3 and out, according to this site.
  18. Just like not all wins are good? (Edit: I guess it could be argued that a quick bomb when your defense is tired is relatively bad compared to a sustained drive, but both are equally good in the points department)
  19. It doesn't really change my point. I'm not saying that it's a bad thing that Tyrod is ranked where he's at, but I also don't see it as a huge predictor of success due to the way a 'ratio' works, and the impact it actually has on a game. Not all turnovers are equally bad. Whereas all TDs are equally good.
  20. And 3 out of the bottom 5 also 'made it'. It says that Tyrod takes care of the ball relative to scoring, but that's about it, really. Would you rather have 3 TDs and 1 INT, or 5 TDs and 2 INTs in a game? Without context, I'd choose the latter, because INTs can happen anywhere on the field, and don't automatically mean a score... whereas the TDs are TDs, no matter. Edit: To further my point that this stat kinda lacks needed context... What would you prefer, driving down the field 40 yards, and throwing an INT at the opposing 20, or going three and out and punting to the opposing 20? On paper, people would automatically say the interception is worse, but in reality, one could argue that a drive ending in INT is better in terms of ToP, and resting your defense.
  21. Bolded are QBs that lead their teams to the playoffs either last year, or this year (if the season ended today). As much as the ratio is nice, I don't think it really tells us all that much in terms of real success.
  22. That'd be the most Bills like outcome Win all of them, lose to Cleveland for their only win of the season, miss the playoffs. The stuff movies are made of!
  23. Who's pissing and moaning? A win is a win. I'll take wins. Even if they are "embarrassing" wins. I just want the playoffs. One can be 'happy' for a win and acknowledge that a team's performance in the process was problematic. I mean, I guess I could spend all my time focusing on the rushing attack and our pass rush, but it feels a little empty being overly positive about a couple things while we are on track to miss the playoffs for the 17th season in a row
