  1. After thinking on it... Either keep TT at a renegotiated deal, or let him leave and re-sign EJ. Keep Cardale. And draft a QB in the first round. Let them battle it out next offseason/preseason. There isn't anyone available to us currently in the NFL that is a big enough step up from TT, so the only way to really improve the position at this point is through the draft (or hope one of the guys we have magically steps up).
  2. The way I see it... Defense was stout in 2014, then a scheme change happened in 2015 and the defense fell apart. The players were almost exactly the same. This points to coaching being the problem. Offense was stagnant in 2014, got some new players and a new OC, and now the offense puts up a lot more points. This could be either the players or the scheme, or both, either way, odds are that the GM was at least partially responsible for the improvement. I say Rex is more the problem, than Whaley.
  3. It's like being the victim of domestic abuse... 'but he told me he's sorry and he loves me... it'll get better'
  4. We'll continue to **** the bed, while the Pats plow through those teams with ease. Sounds about right.
  5. They are never an excuse, imo. A successful franchise finds a way to win.
  6. My two beefs with the offense: - Take away the run, and the passing game crumples - Can't get down the field in a hurry (2 minute offense anyone?) If the OC/Tyrod can work on those things, I'm fine with our current unit.
  7. IIRC, they went into 2013 with Kolb, Manuel and Tuel, with the intention of starting Kolb, who, while not perfect, was seen as a solid/promising vet, until EJ was ready. The next year they were encouraged by Manuel, but also wanted to shore things up with a vet presence, and reached out to Orton, who didn't commit until late. I can see why they went for Watkins, since they had faith that EJ would work out. Not very often do you take a 1st round QB two years in a row and find success. And there's no guarantee that Bridgewater or Carr develop under Hackett.
  8. When has cold weather ever been an actual advantage for us? I'm curious if our home December game record is better than earlier in the season, or generally the same level of mediocrity
  9. QB rushing yards are taken into account in team rushing statistics. Tyrod is a part of why our run game is so successful.
  10. I'm unaware of anyone currently in the league that will be available to us that is an immediate upgrade over Tyrod. That being said, I also don't think he's 'the answer'. And drafting a QB is generally a crapshoot. So... I have not a !@#$ing clue.
  11. The electoral system and the way many district lines are drawn already favor Republicans, I don't think it really matters what Democrats do, Republicans will continue to hold power for some time to come.
  12. We've beaten bad teams, and lost to good teams. I'd say 7-7 is pretty accurate. How many franchise QBs have we 'missed' on since 2013?
  13. I'm surprised we're favored considering we lost to them and they have a 2 game lead on us in the playoff hunt. It's not like Tannehill killed us or anything that game.
  14. Not that it necessarily matters, but looking at maps that don't take population or electoral count into play can be a little deceiving, hence cartograms. For example, this is a much more accurate view of the election:
  15. I'm not an expert like the rest of you, but from my eyes he seems to be around the ball a lot, and disrupts the pocket quite a bit. I don't see an issue with him, personally... certainly not a bust after only a few games
  16. The only correct take on this.
  17. 2013-2016: 30-32 (.484) - if we finish 9-7, it'll be .500 2009-2012: 22-42 (.344) While we aren't as good as we want to be, we're definitely better than we were previous to him becoming GM. If you have a guaranteed better option, I'm all for it, but I'm not convinced Whaley is the problem with this team. We had a good defense with much the same personnel, and then changed scheme and it fell apart. We had a ****ty offense, picked up a few key players, and changed scheme, and move the ball better now. We need a better defensive scheme, and things will be largely ok. Or we can somehow get a HoF QB, to make up for the weak defense.
  18. They still have a very slim chance, no way were they going to pack it in for this game. I could see some more bench players getting play time once we are out of it, though.
  19. Glad we finally showed up after the lackluster first quarter. Not much to say other than we did what was expected of us and beat an inferior team.
  20. Pretty telling that this game is tied at about 25% through. If we can't put away the Browns early, at home...
  21. It would be awfully Billsy to let go of two coaches after a three year span of 9-7, 8-8, 9-7
  22. Easier said than done, but I do agree that people need to reset their expectations and not heap 17 years on whomever. Fact is we have a good chance at a winning record this year, yet our team has regularly gotten booed at home, because we all know we're missing the playoffs again. I'm not sure what other fanbases are like, but does a .500 or 9-7 team get booed at home regularly?
  23. It's not a pity party at all. Anyone worthwhile is going to want to go to a better run organization that doesn't have 'the streak' hovering over head. It's as objective of take as I can make. Our best bet is to find a diamond in the rough with a younger up and coming OC or DC, imo. Someone that isn't highly sought, or a 'big name'. Also, I know everyone here hates 'continuity', but frankly at some point we're going to have to let someone have a few years to get things going.
  24. People need to lower their expectations, no one worth anything would want to come to the Bills. Way too much pressure to find success right away.
