On the Jackson topic... he's always looked slow. I remember we all had this debate when we argued about Lynch and Jackson, and a lot of posters (including myself, iirc) called Jackson slow. I think it's due to his running style, more than anything.

I don't see anything wrong with being realistic about our D. Sure, it's encouraging what we are seeing so far... but it's also pre-season. I think it's fair to wait for "final" judgement until we see some regular season games.

Total homer. I'm taking a wait and see attitude. Logically, to me, it says EJ isn't starting game one, simply due to not having enough on the field time, even if he "won" the competition. In which case, we might see Kolb start a few games, and when (not if) he stinks bad enough, EJ will be brought in as starter. But, I really hope you're right, eball. I want EJ to start, even with this injury. Kolb isn't even as good as Fitzpatrick (imo). Sure, he can throw a deeper ball. But he gets rattled easily and makes poor choices. And in that case, I'll take Fitzy any day.

Our staff hasn't been quick to push people back into practice/games that have injuries, especially our vets. I'd like to see him out there, but it might not be his choice.

Even if it is minor, I don't see how they start EJ for week one after missing the rest of preseason. Maybe he'll be the starter sometime mid season after Kolb stinks it up or something. :/

Get used to seeing him on another team, guys. He was basically battling with Easley for a spot, and lost.

I don't think EJ will be starting Week 1, or maybe even this season (barring injuries to Kolb), if he's going to miss the rest of preseason with this. :/

I though I saw him hobbling after that sack. Didn't want to jinx it though. Oh well, hopefully Kolb can bring us success, heh.

Fred Jackson would be one to thrown in as notable. He had a few good runs and made me hopeful that he's got his legs back underneath him.

If Marrone has any sense, he'll name a starter and play them for 3 quarters to get prepared for the regular season. That starter should be EJ.
