  1. Feelings over facts.
  2. So we just need to magically get a top 5 QB. Got it.
  3. It's more about op-eds than journalism these days. Very rarely are facts reported without extensive personal slant.
  4. Kudos to the OP and JW I still think the drama surrounding all of this is overblown.
  5. This thread is going to die quickly. It's much too reasonable.
  6. Certainly hope so. How many scheme changes has the defense been through in the last few years? 5 out of 6? My biggest worry is ruining the offense... the defense is already as bad as it can get with the players we have, so my priority is keeping the good stuff in tact (the offense), and then going from there.
  7. You'd think if Pegula was unhappy with Whaley, he'd be fired already, it's not like Whaley is new to the organization.
  8. I'm going to be pretty pissed if we hire a 'defensive' guy, and our offense regresses, while our defense stays the same.
  9. I've been confused by all the anger since all this started. Not every GM/Coaching structure is the same in the league. It was clear from the start that Whaley's responsibilities were player acquisition/drafting, and coaching was to go direct to Pegula himself. But hey, lets all flip out about it. Why not.
  10. It's unbearable. I loaded up TBD tonight thinking there wouldn't be much new... but lo and behold, a **** storm of 'new' rumors and tweets that are nothing but circle jerks of misery.
  11. So much drama. And I suspect most of it is manufactured by the revered local media.
  12. I thought Russ has nothing to do with this search?
  13. My only problem with 'take a QB every year' is forcing yourself to spend a draft pick on someone you don't really care for. I say put a QB on your board, and if they are there at a position you're comfortable with, go for it, but I don't want to see us not fill a hole on the team because we drafted a QB that will never see the field.
  14. Unless a clear upgrade path presents itself, I agree that Tyrod should be the guy going forward for a while. Sounds like the draft this year is weak, so go into next year with Tyrod and Cardale, continue to work on Cardale see what he becomes, and look at QB again next year.
  15. I'd like to see what percentage of throws they all get, if I have time, I'll dig through the numbers. I want to clarify, I agree that I'd like to see him put up more numbers, but I also question some of it, because he's been limited and we have a run first offense. I'd really like to see him get some slants, instead of outs or fly routes.
  16. I feel like forcing almost 50% of your passes to one person would limit the offense, personally. I understand the want to see him produce more, though. Also, I think part of the issue is, our WRs mostly run out patterns and have very limited RAC opportunities
  17. I'm still failing to see why there's so much drama about this. It all seemed pretty straight forward to me.
  18. I think the low point would have been keeping Rex a third year. The fact that Pegula is stepping aside and letting his GM do his job is a good thing. It's nuts that everyone is taking a negative spin on this.
  19. I consider his usage rate to be more than reasonable when he's on the field. I'm not going to hold him to specific totals due to how our offense has been run. Hoping for better health going forward, though. 7 of Tyrod's 15 games this year have had 25 or fewer passing attempts.
  20. It's going to be a 'death march' for any GM here until we strike gold with an 'unknown' or a 'retread' coach. Don't expect 'big names' to come here, unless they are the Rex sort (all talk, no walk).
  21. I'm for keeping Lynn/the offense in tact and either getting a good DC with Lynn as OC, or a defensive minded HC that hopefully keeps Lynn as OC. I have a feeling Lynn is demanding a HC position though, so the former is more likely than the latter.
  22. Bingo. They were looking for drama, and trying their damnedest.
  23. Rex ruined a good defense, even a blind man could see that. Is your real name Rob Ryan, or something?
  24. The Pegualas definitely screwed up by making football decisions by committee between them, Russ, and Whaley. I'm hopeful this is a sign they recognized it, now we'll see if Whaley is legit or not.
