With people around him signing there is NO reason for his deal not to get done! The only hangup could be guarenteed money, but even that should easily be slotted by draft status. Hopefully he isn't getting bad advice from his agent based on being the first running back taken in the draft.
The main I thing I worry about with a high motor defender like Schobel, is injury if he does come back. Without OTA's and training camp someone like him will be very prone to injury, or should I say even more prone than he already is.
If he turns out to be like Marshall Faulk or Chris Johnson, I will be very pleased that we drafted him. Faulk in his prime was the best all around back in the NFL and Johnson's numbers the last couple of years have been crazy!
Pure speed is uncoachable. He was the high school 100 meter national champion which is why he is able to separate from db's in the secondary. They stay with him for a short time then ie John Madden "boom he's outta there".
As everyone should be aware the draft is an inexact science at best. Careers in the NFL aren't made in a players first year or even his first couple of years. Poz is solid when healthy. There aren't any linebackers in the NFL capable of handling a RB coming at them at full speed, which unfortunately has been the norm in Buffalo in recent years. The knock on Fletcher on his way out of town was that he had lost a step. Possibly he was just being asked to do more than could have been reasonably expected.
