  1. How about some road game stories...

    Here is mine:

L.A. Colliseum (1991?) surrounded by Raider fans. The Bills aren't haven't a good game and I'm quietly (internally) hoping the Bills get back into the game. The Bills are down at halftime and my buddy (a Raider fan not from L.A.) are waiting for the second half to start. We are sitting in the same row of what appears to be a family (three generations) and I estimate a boy about 8 yrs old, the kids dad and the kids grandfather. At halftime, dad lights up a joint and passes to the grandfather. Not one person in the stands even flinches.

In the second half, the Bills return a kickoff for a TD. During the return, I can't contain myself and I jump up screaming "Go, go, go...yes, yes..." I sit down realizing that what I've done and one of the dope smokers says, "You're in the wrong stadium for that." Little do the dope smokers know that my buddy and I are packing heat. I keep quiet the rest of the game which the Bills ending up winning.

Nice road trip. How about yours?

My other road trip was to Houston (1990?) I think Del Greco kicked a 50+ yard field goal to send the game into overtime. Andre Reed took a crossing route to the endzone in overtime for the win. The final score was something like 56-50. Crazy.

Interesting stories I thought... but bringing a gun to a game?

Anyways, I don't think there is any way the Raider fans could possibly treat opposing team fans worse than people in the Ralph do. Almost every time I go to a game I see a fight or near fight with an opposing team fan. Our fans are some of the most ignorant in the league, but at the same time you have to love the heart and intensity.

I live in Atlanta and the Bills come here once every eight years. You show up wearing a Bills jersey and everyone is polite. Totally different atmosphere. Better? No. Here, sports are entertainment. In Buffalo its like, "that guys" life. Like he will be depressed for a week or more if the Bills lose. For that reason I love the Bills and could never be a Falcons fan.

    Anyways. My worst away game:

2004 finale @ the RALPH. Yeah, but it was an away game with all of the f**king "terrible towels" that were waving. I have never seen our stadium molested like that and actually might have liked to see a Steelers fan get his a** kicked that day. Although I saw many Bills fans trying to entice Steelers fans into fights by way of throwing peanuts at them and "accidentally" spilling a bit of beer on them, it never happened. We got beat by the Steelers backups when a win would have put us in the playoffs!!!! Last game as a Bill for Bledsoe. Willie Parker was their backup RB and ran for like 200 yards on us but to our credit he did turn out to be legit. Still, worst loss ever.

  2. People have done the same with Brohm and Fitz, so what? All three QBs have stats, rules, and past situaion threads on all three QBs. They are not implying they are a "lock." They are creating conversation as to what would happen if this person is the QB, or arguing which QB would be better.

Some of the people who created the edwards threads also created the brohm threads. Are they both "locks?" :bag:

I mean, look at some of this stuff besides Edwards:

    Couple thoughts on qb Fitz

Granted, a lot of this stuff some people are not declaring one of them is a lock for starter. But it is just about the same as posting Edwards stats and asking the Question: "edwards the next starter?" That is a question. Not declaring edwards to be a "lock."

I know there are a lot of threads on all of the qbs etc etc thank you for pointing all of that out. My point is that with some recent unsubstantiated hear say and summertime guesswork by fans that Trent will be on top of the pecking order in training camp, many are making the assumption that he will be the starter on opening day and going from there.

People are doing this. You know it, I know it.

They need to stop doing it.

No one knows who will start opening day at this point.

  4. This is not what anybody is saying. Most are saying that Edwards will enter camp as the number 1 QB but that the others will be given an opportunity to win the job. No one has said TE is a lock for the starter. No one of credibility that is. Most people on these boards read and write at the 3rd grade level. Most do not know how to translate the sentences that they read into thoughts intended by the writer and produce reliable conclusions.

    "no one of credibility" haha.

A few people are implying he is a lock by the way they are posting and plastering stats and making predictions and all of that garbage, you know.

  5. I was looking at the 2009 pro-bowlers and found an interesting stat. Each player was either a high draft pick or went undrafted. Shows you either need to be a diamond in the rough hidden at some small school or truly highly touted...

    C - 1 1st, 2 2nds, 2 undrafted

    G - 3 1sts, 1 2nd, 2 undrafted

    T - 7 1sts, 2 2nds, 1 undrafted

Maybe this is because you are scouted as being the man and you turn out to be the man.

Or, you arent even a lineman or you played at a small school or only have one year starting or something along those lines but you have prototypical physical tools so a team invests energy into converting you into a top flight lineman and actually succeeds.

See: Jason Peters, Undrafted Tight End.

  6. Oh, another thing I wanted to add.

I dont think Gailey is really sure about anyone yet. He is rotating people in the offense so much that even when Edwards or whoever is taking snaps with the first team, that "first team" could be made up of practice squad guys and guys who wont make the final 53.

I think Gailey is trying to get a true feel for his personnel. He wants to review some more tape over the break and think about what he has seen in camp so far.

Then we will see one of these QBs, hopefully Fitz, get cut early on in Training camp.

  7. Fitz may be the least gifted QB in this pecking order physically, and his throws are not very accurate, but we played more competitive with him at the helm last year. He seems to be most respected among the group by his teammates, and may be the best leader. TO favored him much more than Trent, calling him a "veteran who has been around the league". TO may be washed up and egotistical, but he knows what winning takes, and he favored Fitz.

Watching games, it looked like Fitz knew where to go with the football and read defenses better than Trent. His throws wern't on the money too often, but he went downfield and took chances, not to mention hes not injury prone. They may have said brohm had a good OTA, and trent looks like "the most talented", but fitz is smart and tough, and Fewell went down the stretch with him last year when he was trying to win games, not Trent, and it wasn't even a discussion.

At this point, unless Gailey really sees potential in Brohm as a good QB and wants to develop him, I think its 40-40-20 in the Trent/Fitz/Brohm race.

The thing about Fitz that everyone seems to agree on is that he is what he is.

Trent has potential, maybe Gailey can figure out a way to make his game work.

Brohm has more potential, maybe he can get that college swagger back.

Of course Brown is 100% potential. I have to admit, there is something about Browns attitude that makes me think he can play and attitude is atleast 51% of being a QB.

Right now we dont need a "he is what he is" kind of QB. We need someone who has potential to grow into more than that.

    Cut Fitz.

TE or BB as 1 and 2. LB as the developmental 3rd.

  8. The song is horrible and only contributes to a losing mentality among the players. Its ridiculous and I promise the bills will live with the curse of no superbowl victories as long as they have it.

I hate it, it completely lacks football mentality.

Its not a classic, just a cheesy relic.

    Thankyou for starting this topic.

Lets get a petition going and send it to the Bills, I'm serious.

I'm embarrassed to be a fan of a team with such a lame song.
