  1. Buffalo is a barren wasteland...if you are a Hollywood jet-setter used to having paparazzi following you around. For the rest of normal society it's just fine.

Buffalo is considered the arctic of the US, however unfairly that is presented. It's considerably colder in the UP of Michigan and that whole area.

  2. bull ****

I don't know how much Nix is making but Donahoe...our last actual GM...wasn't exactly cheap

At head coach, it's true he doesn't spend a lot on guys who haven't proven themselves to be worth a lot...that's not a sign of being cheap, that's a sign of being smart with your money.

After the strong start in 2008, he rewarded Jauron with a major raise. In 2008, under the terms of his old contract, he was about the 31st highest paid in the league. The raise he got made him the 10th-highest paid coach in the NFL with an average salary of $3.5M per year...and considering he's paying him over $8M for doing nothing after he fired him AND was willing to spend in the neighborhood of $10M per year for a coach like Shanahan, to say Ralph is cheap is ridiculously stupid and ignorant

I was just trying to say that there is a time to spend and a time to save and even when we spend we have gotten nothing in return to really show for it but a ~.500 record. I wouldn't spend any extra until I see a direction that leads to a positive result versus more of the same, it's just my point.

As per the F in the title, it was FA but it cut it off.

  3. When he was born his momma slapped his uncle.

He passed all of his high school classes without ever stepping into a classroom.

He once told a friend what a Hokie really was, than he killed it.

While in jail he once read an entire readers digest, without ever learning to read.

For his birthday he charged admission for others to attend and be shot, and they came.

He is....the most interesting man in the world.

Alright, let's get some stuff from you guys.

    He isn't a Buffalo Bill.

  4. I think the Jets are going to implode. They are going about winning the wrong way. They have a 1-2 year window to win the big one or they are going to have issues. They have guys like Harris and Revis to ante up big contracts for and the money just isn't going to be there, with the Ferguson contract, and all the free agent contracts they've taken on.

    And here's another thing:

Notice teams like Pittsburgh, Indy, and New England don't usually sign big ticket free agents and don't often give out big contracts to their players that come up for free agency. For me there's two ways to look at this. The first being that they are well run organizations that have the new found Bills philosophy of stacking players on top of players, so these players are replaced from within. The second is as long as you have your franchise QB, most of the other positions are more interchangeable because you have that constant.

The Jets don't have either. I'm telling you if Sanchez doesn't pan out, this team is going to be in turmoil with a high payroll with little flexibility, and they'll be stuck with too many high priced players to maneuver.

Their run offense cannot be better than ours based on talent.

  5. I'll agree with you up to a point. It's true the team never replaced Kelly, and that the lack of a Kelly-like QB has been a huge source of pain ever since Jimbo hung up his cleats. But there are other players from those teams who never got replaced either. Other than a year or two of good LT play from Jason Peters, we never replaced Will Wolford. There was no replacement for Kent Hull after he retired. This team could also use a Howard Ballard. While the failure to replace Kelly was the single biggest source of failure, the almost complete lack of talent on the current OL (other than at guard), is enough to kill the offense even if we did have a QB.

There is a bigger picture here, we're missing about 2 solid people from the line. We need a LT and a center, without which we are weak. I can see Bell help us at LT but I fear any center right now is a guess.

I would expect us to try and run a lot but be forced to do play action based on our line inexpierence. Plan on us trying to force the run and our plays to be pulled apart by game 3, which forces a change.

He only played 4 full sets of 16 games in 11 seasons, linebacker mentality.

  7. Jim Kelly openly called out Trent Edwards at the worse possible time in the young mans career, knowing fully well how important confidence is to a young and developing QB, and exclaimed it was time for the Buffalo Bills to move on.

It was a stupid thing to do in my opinion.

With all due respect 20 year, If that's not establishing a vendetta, I'm not sure what is...

Kelly didn't play all that well his first several seasons, his personal worst stat wise NFL full season was his 3rd with the Bills:

So maybe Trent will get better??
