  1. Wouldn't he need to see the field better to be FS?
  2. Ugh. Didn't see it. The film thread? Didn't get too far into it. The pro/anti Tyrod squads tend to get out of control pretty quickly making those tough to read past 10-12 pages. My banned list is rediculous from those types of posts. I just wanted to comment on his nice tackle. If Gilmore could tackle like that he would still be here. For the record I am pro TT, but need to see a big step up this season to stay on board. Not a huge cieling at this point, but if he can start hitting some throws with some anticipation, I feel he could get us pretty far if the defense steps up.
  3. I apologize in advance for yet another TT thread Just wanted to remark on Tyrod's nice tackle on his second interception. Guys calling the game did not mention it, neither has the sports media. He actually showed nice form shedding a blocker and moving in to make the tackle on Darby. Nice wrap 'em up arm tackle with a little twist at the end to bring him off his feet. You can question the wisdom of your starting QB getting into it like this in a preseason game, but personally I love the scrappiness. Turnover might have been on him, but he wasn't about to give up on the play.
  4. Beane made a comment along the lines of "they don't all have to be guys we brought in, some guys that were already here bought right in to what we are trying to do". To me, this implies that Sammy, somehow did not.
  5. Thanks for the input, Colorado. Not much of a baseball guy but the jazz museum sounds cool. Wife got some paper eclipse glasses, but I may swing by harbor freight and see what they have for inexpensive welding goggles.
  6. Hey! I rarely post here, usually just lurking looking for informed football opinions. There are way more knowledgable folks here than at the Buffalo snooze (some anyway). Many thanks to guys like KJ, Yolo and Gunner Bill, etc. My wife recently won a trip to KCmo through work and the only thing I know about KC is that it is known for BBQ and Blues. We will be traveling from Hopkinsville, KY on August 21st (for the eclipse) and be in KC for a few days. I'm looking for suggestions regarding both, If it's possible to hit one outstanding venue that will fill both bills even better. R.
  7. In theory yes, but very few cellphones are bright enough to see video in the bright sunshine.
  8. The Dolphins by a mile. Had to live in South Florida for about 6 years to run my tax business when my partner passed away. Everyone knew I was from Buffalo and I had to hear crap from clients constantly that just wanted to talk ****. Most were only casual fans at best but still couldn't resist reminding me how much the bills sucked, even if the phins had their own problems. God I hated Florida.
  9. Wow my bad, I keyed on the part where he says the networks could sue the NFL, and apparently breezed the rest. No more pre-caffeine posts for me. Doh!
  10. You are missing the OPs point. He is not saying the NFL is losing money, he is saying the network and it's advertisers are losing money for a product they paid for but are denied because of blackout rules. The thing is, networks had to have agreed to this. There is no way that that Multi-billion dollar contract does not have language specifically addressing blackouts. This being said, blackouts still suck and make little sense in today's NFL.
  11. Leonard Smith missed the Super bowl vs. the Redskins after getting an infection from having fluid removed by a Bills doctor, IIRC. He was coming off another dominating season at SS. Pretty sure he never played another down.
  12. There was a very good post during training camp pointing out that the transition to 3-4 often takes a few years to complete, and that quite often a hybrid is used until all the pieces are in place. This is whats going on right now. Gailey said he likes the 3-4 because a) it's what we face in division games, making it a bonus to practice against, and b) because as an offensive guy, he feels it's harder to prepare for. Expect us to stay hybrid next year again with maybe a bit more 3-4 as the guys become more accustomed and or suited to it.
