  1. Power running teams need power offensive lineman too.
  2. Blown execution is correct but how bout lack of experience and talent which leads to blown execution...
  3. Have to hold players accountable too. I do agree coaching has been poor.
  4. I think the biggest surprise is going to be M. Lynch. I think the beast mode comes back to his rookie form. I am not writing him off.
  5. I would have rather kept TO before picking up Williams.
  6. You make a good point but I think most would concur that this years schedule is tougher than last years. Maybe you are in the minority.
  7. Hey promo and others, maybe I can help you understand why and how we can be worse. (1) much tougher schedule than last year (2) new coaches and new systems on both sides of the ball (3) loss of TO and Josh Reed hurts WR roster and loss of our best pass rusher Schobel (4) many of the young guys like Maybin, Hardy, Johnson, Troup, Moats, Spiller are going to be relied upon to contribute in a big way. what happens if they don't "step up?" Young players make mistakes.... (5) Much of the division has "upgraded themselves significantly. It's possible their upgrades will be more successful than ours. (6) inexperienced offensive and defensive coordinators can lead to more coaching errors (7) many guys on the defensive end of the ball were drafted as 4-3 guys and not 3-4 guys. it is possible they don't do well with the transition (8) injuries always happen it is possible that some of our key players get hurt. ie Fred Jackson, Spiller, Troup, Lee Evans, Wood, Levtrie, Brohm, etc..... Not saying any of these is going to happen but that is how we can be worse. I hope now you guys can see how we can be worse. It is not an impossibility and IMO a likelihood.
  8. What a sad post but it is 100% correct. I could not have said it any better. It's good to see some honest constructive criticism here.
  9. Yoho, thanks for the thread and post. I can't say that I share your optimistic viewpoint. (1) Gailey taking us back to our roots? Really, based on what? We haven't proven we can stop the run and our rushing offense has been medicore. I am not on that Gailey bandwagon. He hasn't done anything yet to convince me to take that ride. Why are you so eager to jump on? (2) I would argue that the Cowboys three headed monster is more impressive. It is comprised of Barber, Jones, and Choice. (3) Stopping the run is something we haven't been effective in doing for years. I think we may be on the right track but still years from being an effective run stopping defense. The guys are very very young and we lack that dominant NT to anchor the defense. To date, I am not confident our young guys you can be effective. It is a huge question mark. Not to mention, OLB is a huge need too.
  10. Bill, I would like to disagree to disagree. I am trying not to force my opinion on others. Neither one of us are going to sway in our viewpoints. I hope you are truly right.
  11. I have mixed feelings when talking badly about Ralph. He is a pioneer owner going back to the old AFL days. He has done a lot of good for Buffalo. I think he has a great chance to go into the hall of fame. However, it is time for Ralph to pass the reins. He is too old and no longer able to make sound decisions. It reminds me of the Lions and old man Ford. Now, his son or grandson has taken over and the Lions seem to be on the right track. But old man Ford stuck with the incompetent Matt Millin and he set that franchise back years and years. Ralph it is time to hand over the reins. Question is who? and will they remain in Buffalo?
  12. Wonder how many of us will be saying that about Gailey and Nix?
  13. I can't speak for Thurm but I will speak for myself. I gave Nix and Gailey the benefit of the doubt. However, when they failed to adequately address the QB and OL positions , hired a running back coach as an OC , and a suspect DC they lost their credibility with me.
  14. Impressive Offensive/Defensive Coordinator selections huh?
  15. Bill, with all due respect I really think that is quite a weak argument. I think there is enough film on our guys to make a quality informed decision that many of our players lack talent. IMO, this wait and see attitude is nothing but excuses for the organization's lack of progress and pick ups. The cheap and easily replaceable argument does nothing to make this team better. That is just another unacceptable excuse. Where are the replacements? Who are they? Should Bell/Merideth even start this year? So far, BB has proven he isn't an NFL starting or backup QB for that matter. As a result, I am not very "high" on his chance for success as a Bill.
  16. I agree and it appears like the Nix/Gailey regime is doing the same thing with the OL...To date no big moves to draft or pick up anyone of proven quaility on the OL.
  17. I wonder if that statement can be applied to TE, Fitz, and BB.
  18. Jeremy, your personal attacks are unwarranted and uncalled for. However, I don't take them personally. Your post makes little sense with the exception of "bashing" me. I am not here to get into a pissing contest with you or anyone else. I stand by my original post 100%. Hope you have a nice day. No hard feelings here.
  19. I enjoyed reading your post because IMO it was filled with optimism and a sense to toughness. I only wish I could agree and share your state of mind and thought process. (1) The Bills version of Chan Gailey is unwritten and time will time. I think valid arguments can be made for liking or disliking him. (2) Fact - Nix is taking a step up. What's in question is whether he will be successful. You talk about him having a plan. Maybe, I am lost because I don't know what that plan is? Can you explain his plan? I am not trying to be a smart ass. (3) I do like the attitude being displayed by Gailey/Nix. But, singing a song is one thing and producing is another. Initially, new regimes always seem to be singing the right song. I need to see results before I get on any Nix/Gailey bandwagon and start singing along with them.. (4) Show me some wins I don't care about any baby. (5) Do you really know what Gailey and Nix are thinking? Of course they want to win just like the rest of guys who were unsuccessful here. I am going to remain skeptical without unjustly criticizing the new regime. What you are saying isn't anything new. It has been said by many after every regime change. I guess with time we will all know how successful Nix/Gailey will be? Until them, the debate will continue with both sides making valid points....
  20. Mr Weo, I will take the above average QB as well. Where is he?
  21. I could not disagree with you more. I don't want my organization drafting players based on what is safe and how to save their own tail. IMO, the draft is all about balancing player value and team needs. Fine if you think Clausen wasn't value at 9 or 41 but not to pick him based on what you said is not acceptable to me.
  22. I am willing to give the regime time to turn things around. I am skeptical that they will be successful. Nevertheless, they deserve a chance. Here is the thing I don't understand. I believe too many of you are giving the new regime too much credit and a free pass. I ask the following: (1) How successful has Gailey been as a head coach? Mild success at best. I am not willing to "anoint" him as a savior or offensive magician. To boot, inexperienced offensive coordinator which I don't like... (2) Nix has never been a GM and has had success in San Diego. It is a big step up... (3) Ralph is still the owner. (4)This regime IMO has made some "very questionable decisions" like not addressing the QB and LT position. I am not one to just sit back and say that is OK. Just look at what the Skins did. I think that is a reasonable comparison. (whether the skins are successful is debatable). My point is they did address arguably the two most important positions in football. We are left with "let's wait til next year" and a miracle hope that someone emerges as a success. Yicks.... I believe that the regime has made good decisions like converting to the 3-4, addressing bulk on the defensive side of the ball, tougher conditioning and practices, etc.... Time will tell if this regime is successful or not. For now I cannot pretend like things are all well in Bills land...
  23. It was a sarcastic response but I guess you didn't get it. That's why I followed by saying he was a steal at pick 41.
  24. Hi Hossage, I haven't heard from you in a long time. I hope you and your family are doing well. Things here on the farm are quite well. Lets go Bills!
