I just read a few articles on grading Chan, and man what a waste. I understand the Bills have a worse record than last year, but Chan the Man in my eyes is going to turn this team around. If he didn't take the time to try to improve Trent (which I thought he would), then the Bills might be in the hunt for a playoff spot. We should have swept Miami, and should have beat the Pats, and Fitz would have had more time to build chemistry with the starters sooner. I liked the fact that Chan did everything in his power to bring Trent around. It showed to me that he was willing to try and gave him time to grow. Trent couldn't cut it, and I really think that blow in AZ really took it out of him. Chan tried and I feel the players saw this and it gave him mad props and showed the team that it's not about what we say, it's about what he Billieves. We should have beaten Pitt, Baltimore, the Chiefs, Miami, and the Pats. Even though we lost, he and the Bills showed they do not give up, and they are much more entertaining than last year. He has instilled an atmosphire of not stopping and Billieving, not just in themselves, but in each other. Most critics said we would be lucky to win a game. To have a team with no names and be as competitive as they have been shows me that Chan the Man can win, and has it under control and will build a winning team. He finds a way to make it happen, and that alone deserves an A in my book. Chan or any one of the Bills who may read this, THANK YOU FOR A GREAT YEAR AND SHOWING US FANS WHAT IT'S LIKE TO BILLIEVE AGAIN!!!! GRADE A+++++++

After today, Bills one step closer to shopping Evans
HARCO186 replied to The Big Cat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
One can't argue with the facts you put up because stats don't lie. I do think Lee Evans time in Buffalo is on a downslide, but he is under contract and he shows up to work. How many qb's did he go thru? I feel the chemistry just never developed with Lee as it did with Stevie. Johnson as we know spent countless time with Fitz at and after practice working on the coordination and patterns. This is a key part to the success of each others development. Lee is not over in Buffalo, and will stay as long as his contract. Buffalo has too much invested in him, and he is not a bad receiver by far. He just has to work with Fitz to get the chemistry down. Plus with all the qb changes, who knows what was said behind close doors to each other. They may not get along at all because Lee wanted a different qb besides Fitz and Fitz just might not be getting Lee the ball much. With that said, Lee is still a threat that needs to be looked at, and must be protected against. I do feel when his contract is up, Lee will be told to go elsewhere though. -
Redskins suspend Haynesworth for season
HARCO186 replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
When Haynesworth was told he would move to NT, that is when he said he wouldn't work. He is a 4-3 player and will only play in a 4-3. Why???? He's an idiot that needs not to play in the NFL. If a person is given 100+ million to play, then they play. 3-4, or 4-3. I am extremely glad Shanny never came to Buffalo, but believe this is not shanny on this. Albert needs to get sued for that cash back, but seeing who he works for, who cares. I only wish he played for the cowboys and caused this to them........... -
How are we EVER supposed to compete
HARCO186 replied to BLZFAN4LIFE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Everyone talks about the pats and how we won't be competitive. That is simply not true. They have a good draft coming up, but know they have the management set and in place and have for many years. The Bills have had a so many many changes in the front office along with coaching and never really let anything develop. The only thing we HAD was with Marv many, many years ago. Then Raplh got rid of one of the very best managers of the sport who went on to build Indy up. Ralph may or may not have learned from this and Chan and Buddy will take time to estblish this team again. We will not be a contender for at least a few years yet. Chan didn't even know who or what he had until the season started. He warned us of he will not know until the games get real. I Billieve he is doing things right. I feel he eveluated his whole team and will be making changes this year. If he decides to keep Fitz is up to him because he has turned Fitz into a very competitive QB. I'm not saying great, but competitive. I feel it will take a few draft choices and maybe a free agent to turn things around again. Like it or not, but Chan the Man took a laughing stock of a team and smacked some big teams in the mouth. No we didn't win, but we earned some major respect this year and that says a lot. He never said we were a playoff team. He has turned this team into BILLIEVERS though. to BILLieve they can compete with anyone. We lost to the Vikes, and people are crying again? That is why we play the game, anyone can win any given Sunday. I feel Chan is doing right and even though we got our asses handed to us on a silver platter, does not mean we are a laughing stock. I give him a few years at the helm to see what they can do before I call them bad. I give us a few years to be comptetive as well. By the end of 2012 if they do not make a playoff run, then do I call for a change. This maybe harsh, but it the pats a few years with another coach in order to be good again. -
You know I do have to say that the Bills were a laughing stock. Most said they would be lucky and I say lucky to win one game. When we played Pitt this Sunday it showed to me that they will turn the corner a little faster than what I thought. I said Buffalo would go 8-8 and maybe 9-7. I was wrong, but take those few games and flip them around then they are on track. I BILLieved Chan the Man would do it. If he couldn't fix Trent then no one can. I liked the fact that he tried everything he could to help Trent out. The team saw that most, but now the fans can. If he had Fitz in there, maybe we would have won a couple other games in the beginning, but he wanted to do what he could with Trent. For that, I give him mad props alone. He didn't give up until he knew for sure Trent was not able to adapt. It happens, and Trent tried, just he couldn't grasp it. Now he has a new project in Fitz, and if his football IQ is really that high, then there is no telling what we can expect. Fitz is no Manning by any means though, but if Chan the Man says he's good, then I BILLIEVE.

I couldn't agree with you anymore.!!!! I've been saying for at least 3-4 threads now, that we just need 2 defensive players that are impact players and we will have a very solid team. We are that close of becoming one of the better teams in the league.
-
Today we have at least 4 threads putting blame on receivers and Fitz. We are saying we need a true #1 WR and even a tackle next year, but has anyone looked at the stats? YES we lost by a dropped pass, get over it. We also lost by a missed FG, and a fumble. What the Bills also did was give up way too many yards rushing. It drives me nuts to think we are now starting to get a offense that can and will deliver. Say what you want, but Chan the Man has and is giving us some great games and mostly of late. The issue is the Bills cannot stop the run. If you have a team that allows over 150 yards of rushing every week, then that team will get tested to stop the run. We have not stopped the run. If the Bills stopped the run on a few drives, they won the game. This is the bottom line. Let's stop putting blame on Chan and the offense when the defense gives up way too many yards rushing.

Bills starting to get respect
HARCO186 replied to SouthGeorgiaBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm taking it like most said, the Ravens just overlooked us and we smacked them in the mouth. They didn't think we give them any issues, while the Steelers are saying that feel the Bills are no push overs that's all. I agree, and expect to see a close game of smack in the mouth football. I see a very close game if we can stop the run, and we can run. If we can do that then close game with another win. -
That was part of my point. So far there has been at least 4-5 threads on drafting already and the season isn't over with. It's driving me crazy to open anoother thread on who we should pick. It's like the season is overwith and everyone is picking now..... That was the point. Sorry if it came out wrong.
-
Let me start by saying that I feel for anyone on the board to start saying who we should draft or not draft is just wasting time now for several reasons. 1. The biggest reason and one that everyone should keep in mind is the season is not over yet. 2. At the start of the season, did we ever think we would be down to just CJ Spiller at RB???? Then everyone was saying that last years draft was a good one right???? Well if the season is not over yet, then how can we go without injuries? We do not know who may get hit with an injury yet. Not that it would matter too much, but it does make a difference. 3. Why are we so high on Fitz? Yes he is proving to be good, and yes he is showing he has what it takes. However, even Chan had him riding the bench to start the season. I'm not saying to get rid of him or anything bad, but if Chan can make Fitz look this good, I can only imagine what it would be like if he had his hands on a Manning or Breez? Yes Chan the Man is why Fitz is looking good, no doubt about it. 4. What if Fitz shows signs of not cutting it in the snow???? Are we still high on him? 5. Buffalo has not had a true defensive stud since BBBBBBRRRRRRRUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know Schobel was good, but Buffalo truly lacks that GREAT ONE and everyone here can agree with that. 6. What if Chan and his good ol boy buddy Nix have 2-3 defensive players that they see fit for Buffalo, but they aren't the true #1 pick, and they draft down? 7. My point is that WE JUST DON'T KNOW.... Lets finish this season first please.................

Is Everybody Happy With Gailey?
HARCO186 replied to Geno Smith's Arm's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wrote this a few posts ago, but what if the Bills kept Fewell as DC? What would the Bills record be now? I'm not trying to make this a bash on the DC we have now, but feel as if Fewell had the defense going the last few years. He's now with the Giants and they are a contender, because he brought the defense back up to what the Giants d use to be. I feel that the off season, though WE SHOULD TAKE A QB, we will again take the best player available. Buffalo HAS HAD NO TRUE THREAT AS APASS RUSHER. All the Schobel people will bash me on this, but know he was not an elite player. HE WAS ABOVE AVERAGE, BUT NOT ELITE. Buffalo really needs a couple really good front seven defensive players. If Buffalo lets CHAN THE MAN do his job, we will in my meaningless opinion, take the best player available. That being said, Buffalo will most likely give up their first round pick and take two 2nd rounders, giving 3 picks in the 2nd. That will give us what we will need. That is 2 good d-lineman, and one good lb. That will improve us and then CHAN the MAN will have us in this thing called playoffs by next year. I BILLIEVE CHAN THE MAN will get us to the playoffs next year. In 3 we will be contenders. I agree with you that Chan the Man is not telling us about labor pains, but I think we can see a head!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
WHAT THEY BENCHED KELLY?????? Who is going to be the QB now?????? Just joking. I mean no harm with that. I remember that people trashed Jim's car because he didn't want to come here at all. He was pissed that he had to come to Buffalo, and people would say if he doesn't want to come, then get rid of him.... I don't remember benching after he got here though. I feel that benching isn't a bad thing as fans make it out to be. In hockey, if the goalie is off and not playing good, they will bench him in a heart beat. I feel QB is the same way. Go with what works............

Rk Player Team Pos Comp Att Pct Att/G Yds Avg Yds/G TD Int 1st 1st% Lng 20+ 40+ Sck Rate 21 Ryan Fitzpatrick BUF QB 148 251 59.0 5.9 1,645.6 235.0 14 7 83 33.1 45T 19 4 13 85.5 This does not by any means call for Fitz to be the next franchise QB, nor does it call for a benching. What this tells me as a fan that if Buffalo sees a QB in the draft or a free agent that Chan the Man feels he can do better with, then it simply means he will do that. Chan has stated time after time that if the Bills see a player out ther that is better than what they have, then they will go after that player. What we as fand don't see is the politics that play into that. What I mean by that is does that player want to be a Bill, can the chemistry make the team and that player better? Does the Bills want that player? Is Ralph putting his two cents into that? I really feel Chan felt he could work with Trent Edwards and he tried hard to. Trent just couldn't work, so he cut ties, and went with Fitz. Fitz is trying and is working, but is he really a franchise QB? My two cents don't matter, but feel that Buffalo will pick who is the best player available, and Fitz just might be the QB for next year. Instead of analyzing the players on the team, analyze who is going to be the first ten off the boards. I feel safe to say we get a top ten pick next year. I also feel the Bills can sell our pick for two seconds and get us 3 2nd round picks. Two defensive tackles and a solid LB? Look at it that way.
-
Your point is telling truths, but do you not see that the Bills are a better team than last year? Our defense is doing really bad, but like someone else posted, it's the players that need replaced not the coach. Are stating this because you want to see Chan leave or be replaced?????? If that is the case, then why don't we pick Shannonhan from the skins?????????? Uh that's right they suck to with a new caoching staff and new footballl mentality. I'm not trying to pick at you but ask why are you posting this? Is your point that we suck or that you want a new coach or is it the players or what? I for one BILLIEVE that Chan is the Man and will makeit happen. I think the good "OLD" boys from the south are in here to rebuild and make the Bills very competitive. Not this year or maybe not next, but within a few. I feel they have the mindset and will make it happen. Just think, we are just about 40yards off of having 4 wins this year and a different outlook. By far the Bills have been in most games this year and we might end up with 5-6 wins, ok 4-5. My point is that they are competitive and fight until the end. Not like Dallas who I'm glad to see suck worse. It was a well informed post, but no point or at least I didn't get it.

Perry never would have had a chance in Buffalo. I think he knew this along with the front office. I had said that he was the reason the Bills stayed in games for the last couple years. If he would have stayed, there is no way in hell a person who is even close to Buffalo would give him the time of day. In one thread I even asked what if we had Perry still as our Defensive coordinator? How many games would we have won? He took nothing and made them competitive. Just like Chan is doing now. He is taking no talent and making them competitive. I say nothing and no talent loosely because we do have players, just not like most teams, or the depth. It will take time, and we might not even have the right coaches in place for Chan yet. But I do BILLieve they are way up as getting better. Perry will become a legend in NY as a great master mind because he took a group of great talent and brought them back into a contender. I give Perry a few years as a Giant, then he will get a shot as a coach. It will take time and he must continue to have a great defense every year. Even after the Giants win the superbowl this year. Yes I say the Giants win it this year only because of the city the bowl will be played this year. I like Dallas as much as the rest of our division.

SI's Jeff Pearlman should be ashamed.
HARCO186 replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I haven't lived in Buffalo for over 20 years. The biggest draw back to Buffalo is the reputation. If people in Buffalo would realize it's potential instead of sticking up for it, agree with it. Buffalo is considered one of the best places to live by even recent reports and here is why. They don't have a great night life! Bars and night clubs are cool, but do people who invest to bring business there actually look at clubs???? They have one of the cheapest cost of livings in the country!!!! Look at www.realtor.com, compare a 4 bedroom 2 1/2 bath with anyone elses area. Home prices alone make people think about it. Plus that's in very nice places in Buffalo. It's not in a high crime, gang infested part. The school system is ranked very high, and the last time I checked, Williamsville, and Clerance were ranked as 300 best school district the whole United States. That is pretty good. The weather has it's ups and downs, but Buffalo gets more sunny days than Memphis TN or Dallas. I didn't say warmer, but has more sunny days. Yes even when it's cold out the sun still shines. The four seasons are truly good in Buffalo. So does it get cold? Yeah dumdasses it does get cold in any part of America in the north. West, Central, and East the weather gets cold. Buffalo might get a blizzard, but it doesn't get hurricanes or storms that wipe out a city. Buffalo also can say without a doubt as well, that at least they will not run out of water anytime soon. Places like Atlanta, Houston, San Antonio, Dallas etc. have water shortages and have to try and find a way to get water or else they will not have it. People who write about Buffalo have never spent more than a week there, so they listen to gossip or they just get the impression Buffalo has snow 10 months out of the year. At least what I wrote can be found and has been documented. -
Is Shawn Merriman to good for Buffalo?
HARCO186 replied to Another Point of View's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree with a player picking a team via free agency, but on waivers, it's the team that picks you up, not the player who picks the team. If Shawn wants to play this year again, then it will have to be the Bills. I don't think he will do any worse than what we have now so I don't mind. I feel it's funny a player like Moss isn't getting his choice either, but hopefully next year there will be a lockout and some of these players will be retired. -
If we as fans are going to get down to it and start pointing fingers at athletes for doing drugs PLEASE!!! Let's get the facts first. We can't even start pointing the finger here because we do not know everything and will never know. Baseball just started this thing a few years back because it was brought out. Do you really think the owners know the guys are shooting up??? If you say no then go get a reality check. I've been in the military for 20 years, and drugs were not legal, yet on a muscle mag you have a guy with veins sticking out of his arms the size of quarters, and yes he was chief in the Navy on active duty. Tell me he wasn't juiced, because people who knew him were saying how he juiced, and even my Navy doctor actually told me how one of his patience were getting treated because HE was lactating. This our government who tests for this and are VERY strict and confidential about it, and yet people get away with it. Why because there is ways and we all know it. You can't stop it, but you can really try. That is the fact of life. Even Golic admitted to taking roids on his show. I'm not saying all players use roids by any means. What I am saying is that we would be absolutely stupid if we said not a football player doesn't. If they do or not is not for us to say. My opinion on right and wrong isn't the topic but us to bash a player who got caught is just as wrong because who knows how many others do take roids who don't get caught. The fact is this, there are players in the NFL who take roids, some get caught while others don't. I believe some owners know this and even give a heads up when a test comes because they know that roids gives them an edge to win, and some owners will do what it takes to win! So let's not bash on players who got caught in the past and come here now to I"M NOT SAYING IT IS RIGHT OR SAYING I BELIEVE THEY SHOULD DO IT, but saying let it go.

Martz will run the ball as much as he can. The Bears will run on us like everyone else. Martz did use a rb in his times with the Rams. Yes they were called the greatest show on turf, but they did run. Buffalo will have massive issues with the Bears defense. This is not going to be a good game by any means. In fact it will be much like last week. Buffalo just might pull this off, but by an extremely lucky margin. Hopefully the Bears do pass a lot so we have a chance.

Talk Radio Positive On Bills today

Buffalo fans should be happy today
HARCO186 replied to Another Point of View's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Who said it would be a 3 year rebuilding project? I for one see the Bills being a contender in 3 years. Maybe even break away with a wildcard next year. I'm not at all happy with what I see, but am feeling better about the future. Chan is the Man and will bring a name back to Buffalo. Happy though? No way. How can one be happy with no wins? How can that be satisfying? In what form is the term happy to be with a team that has not won? I understand they are better. But not to be happy about it. -
Kelsey thrown in there just for 2 cents woth right?

Time for NFL to ban Time out just before Kick!
HARCO186 replied to turbobike's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If the shoe was on the other foot and Buffalo did it to win, would this thread be posted? That one play didn't lose the game, but did havean effect. If it works, then it works. The Bills should have won the game. The team will turn things around. I don't like it, but it has shown it works on occassion, even Bill C. said teams practice it. I think the teams should not be allowed to go to the ref, and request a time out at the snap. The team should have to call the time out, not the coach to a ref. -
Arm strength is not about the far throw, but can an individual throw into the wind. If you have played football, then watching a person throw into the wind does make a difference. If that wind is blowing 25mph and it's wet, throwing it to the sidelines becomes almost impossible and will limit a team from calling plays. Very few qb's in the league will have trouble throwing a ball 50 yards, but the issue is on a timing route, will it still get there on time or hang or even die. That is the issue.
