My take is that Trent was given a pile of you know what and told to work it the last couple years. The team was divided for some time (Lee even spoke out and said JP was a better qb). Dicky never lead, but tried to imstall a system, but never had a true leader to take control. This called for Trent to not get a foundation under him. He is no Manning or no Kelly, but none the less he has the fittings to be decent. Now here comes Chan: 1.Chan brought in leadership and stability were there wasn't any. 2. Trent now knows what he has to do and what they are trying to accomplish. A true plan 3. For the first time in a long time, one can see how they act as one unit, continuity is there. 4. Trent now has the confidence that is needed to be successful, plus the backing of a coach. Chan made that clear by stating,"Dog one of us, you dog all of us". That can be our fighting statement because it shows how they feel, and Chan brought that attitude in, and demands it. 5. I doubt Dicky demanded anything???? Chan lets them know where they stand upfront with no BS. 6. A qb needs the confidence within management and the his team mates in order to be confident with themselves.(look at Parrish also, same thing). This is why Buffalo's offense will be much better this year, plus our horrible line has been together for a year so they will also be improved to help out. The BILLS are by far not an elite team, but Trent is a better QB than what the fins or jets have by far, plus he has more tools and I feel better situation than others. The jets are about that word me.. Revis, their center, others wanting huge pay outs... The fins I believe don't have a good enough coach with the right support...The pats are old and this will hurt them this year, yes big issues brewing, o-line has big ??? (I live in NE so I get the news all day long...) Buffalo has many upsides... The bottom line is BRING IT TO THE TABLE AND LETS GET IT ON!!!!!!!!!!!

The reason for me to put this out, is I'm not great with computers, but know how to use them a little. I really think WE THE BILLS FANS need to show our team how to watch their backs. DOG ONE YOU DOG ALL OF US!!!! If we can keep a record and quote of all the "Experts" and what they are and have been saying about the Bills, and if it's done right, we can then (hopefully) have them eating the peanuts out of our ****.... How to do this is Every bad comment and laugh that these guys have, keep it on file. When they turn half way through the season, and say "well I always said they be tougher this year". Or something stupid like that, we can take the recorded quotes and post them on THEIR site and make them explain what they said. It holds them accountable for their words, and makes them look extremely dumb in the end.... Any thoughts, comments on this, or can anybody do this????

Good way of thinking because that must be the thinking of the Bills as well. Evryone says we suck until we hit them in the mouth..... If Maybin is a bust, then he will get cut, but if the coaches see him as potential then we will see....

All this can be answered like this: Last year Buffalo had a great pass defense and we still got our asses handed to us, why?? Because we had one of the worst run defenses. Teams ran all over us and our offense couldn't do anything to help matters. Buffalo lost the super bowl to the giants and were doing great until the giants ran the same run play like 9 times in a row and we couldn't stop them, hence we lost because of time.... Great teams need the run to set up the pass... Steelers did it with a rookie named Big Ben. They ran like crazy and threw to keep teams honest. 2010 Bills will be running and throwing just to keep teams honest. When we burn them with a big throw, look and see if they don't have 8-9 in the box. Buffalo games will be low scoring because Chan will have us running as much as we can with little throws and one or two big shots down field. Point is, set up the pass by the run. This has been that way for years.................

For people out there already bashing Jackson, he is not a starting RB! He is a comlimentary back to a system. This is why he wasn't drafted, but look what he brings to the table. He is a change of pace type player that is all. In case some people do not know, the style in the game is not just a one back set. Most teams if not all have 2 backs so they do not count on just one. This is what Fred brings, no not a starting star type, but a back to help with the load... I am starting to see most of this board switching to CJ???? When we drafted him, how come I don't see all the RT tackle and qb draft people still bashing???? Like most, let's B word until something starts to happen, then jump on the wagon and say this is what we wanted. This board is funny because it's just like riding a roller coaster, when the team wins, it's up, when they lose, they bash. By the way, my thoughts are this, CJ is a great pick up for the Bills, I never once gave him a thought until he was drafted. I thought defense myself because we were going 3-4; but they drafted CJ. I never saw it coming except a very few people saying it. I watched and said it might be good because I was not a qb fan or tackle fan for the draft. Now we have him as a compliment to our other backs, but he will not be a everydown guy. get use to having a shared load with the three until next year when Marshawn gets the axe and Freddie and CJ share... They just compliment each other which is needed in todays game.

Yes the tackles did fold, but how did they fold. They were soft and defenses schemed for them. Teams would lick their chops most likely believing they could get some decent stats because the O-line was soft, not ready to handle 16 games (well 8 games because most were injured). This year alone they admitted that focuse is driven on fundamentals. Back to basics approach, will do wonders. People often scratch their heads when a new staff comes in and takes a decent team and makes them great, or a soft team and makes them tough. This is my point. We don't have a bad line like most people see or say. I truly believe we had a line that got misplacent and lost their way bit. How many of us really look at film and take position by position and see what is wrong and see what is missing. My point is that I feel Chan sees the O-line as needing fundamentals and basics. The best lineman are not the strongest or biggest, but have the best techniques for what the coach has in their system. Maybe last year it was so basic the lineman were told block head on, left or right, that's it. Chan might have this line doing stunts that help. Who knows but time. That is what I'm saying. We don't have the smallest line, nor the biggest, but really feel we don't have the worst either.

A team doesn't get a 1,000 yd running back from a bad line. We were way too predictable last year. Even Whitnor came out and said other teams told them they knew what the Bills were doing. It's hard to pass when a team knows you're going to pass, and hard to run when they know you will run. Still we managed to take a guy who was not regarded as a starter by most teams (Jackson) and he managed 1,000 yds anyways. The team still won 6 games being this way. Remember, name a rookie lineman??? They may not have played together solid due to injury, but they have spent time together as a team. I'm not saying they are elite or even a bunch of pro bowlers, but they will not get pushed around this year like last year. Teams will be surprised by what Chan does. He won't hide the fact that BUFALO WILL BE A RUNNING TEAM, with 3/4 running backs we should be; but I believe that we will hit someone off guard. It takes one play to change momentum. Just one, to turn the tide. Put Spiller in there, and now you have 2 things going. I really feel that in Indy, Chan wet everyones whistle and let critics/fans know that he knows how to call plays and will do so. That was a message if anything that he says not only can they, but will be able to strike anywhere on the field. Our O-Line is going to have us running the ball, and Trent will have time to throw because we won't be predictable.

Then go be fins fan!!!!! It's sad that people think they can go to a club and try mocking them. If I were the team, I would have blocked the fans for seeing practice. Great move fans... Just boo them from Buffalo. What idiots

I agree big time. I see him as a situational guy myself because he's still young and has speed and power. I think they will use him only as situational this year to improve, then maybe next if he's not improved, cut him.

I still feel like they picked Brohm up last year to groom him into our offense. Why take the man with a questionable o-line and feed him to the wolves if you are to make him the #1 of the club. I still feel like Trent can win some games and not lose some for us, making us 8-8. Brohm will be the backup this year and get situated, then take over next year. Remember this guy lost his confidence in GB. It will take time to build off that. Why through him out there when we have time to get an o-line down and stable and a system set up. Use Trent until next year.

That's why he wont get cut. Every team needs a guy to be behind. It's like watching a road crew. One works, five watch!!! Maybin will be the guy in the end, and the first to jump around like he did it...

That's great news!!!!!!!!!! I hope that his head gets like Ryan Leaf was in San Diego. It doesn't bother me to know he feels he's too good to listen. I welcome it so when they fail and the Bills come in second in the division, then so be it. I will be the first to post that the all the skeptics need to eat the peanuts out my.......... Get it. The only other good news is Revis is gone the whole year and the patsies guard never signs. Bills fans hope the other team struggles badly. I would never wish some one gets hurt (cough cough cough) but I'm sure they feel the same way. I hope Sanchez sucks so bad they have to bench him and he has a meltdown!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Brohm was brought in late in the season last year. The big question should be who brought him in??? If the new GM did, then groom him this year and use Trent as the blunt of the O-line growing to get better.... I believe Wood use to be Brohms center once if I'm not mistaken. Rebuild this year and move on, makes sense. I still BILLIEVE we go 8-8 or better though.

Look at some other threads. People are saying get rid of Trent because he's a nice guy but sucks...... More negatives than anything.

What is the deal with you people in Buffalo?????? I can't believe all the negatives that run around up there. The Bills by the way had caparable numbers with the skins for the first quarter. I know we had our first unit in there, but not the line and from the start we held our own. The Bills are much better and wll be. I'm starting to question the fans on this board more than the team with all the negatives. Other people besides Bill fans read this stuff and feed off it. Go to some other posts and see how many fans diss their teams like Bill fans. Not many at all. BILLIEVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I couldn't agree more. The Bills sat out 3 starting lineman, Poz, Kelsay and a lot more, plus we showed a basic set all night. The foreskins did blitz and did treat this like a starting game which shows the differences with coaching styles. I hope Chan mixes it up and did show the basic package to try and get a good read on players. One atricle said it looked a lot like last year, because it was so basic. I hope we change come Sept.

Dude, The Bills will beat the patsys this year because we have a coach that will have us RUN the ball!!!!! Those guys beat us many times, but a few were on the coach DICKY. BILLIEVE boss, the Bills will beat the pats if not twice this year...........

Would've, could've, should've....... I BILLIEVE that CHAN the F'n MAN knew and knows what is what and what his needs are to make us all BILLIEVE. Dude this is a no brainer... The bills hands down become the NFL's Shocker. Playoffs might not happen, but they shock every critic and then some. The pats are going down, and the jets will get struck by the injury bug and they have no depth so they will struggle. The fins win the division only because of default of us being younger, but we give them a run for the money and just might be a wildcard due to the afc west being week.

Also you have to look at what they are doing with the basics. Chan is a firm KISS man. Keep It Simple Stupid. The O line will get much better because they have played a year, and have been drilled to stay low and hit hard. Dick never approached them that way. Dick also was so laid back guys laughed at camp, which showed up in the 4th quarter when we would get blown away for not being tough. Chan has these guys knowing it takes 4 quarters and they have to stay focused. Buffalo will do way better than most think and I can't wait so I can call all these experts and ask them to eat s***

You know what I don't understand is that people say Bills will suck, but look at the Skins. They have a new coach, new qb, new left OT, and new RT, new defense. Sounds like the Bills. Watch and see if Buffalo who is depending on running the ball more comes ahead of the foreskins at the end of the year how many critics come up with some BS about rebuilding. If everyone looks at it, the skins did and picked what most people say we should have. 1. Shanny for coach 2. First pick a LT (4th) to our 9th 3. I'm glad people write this stuff, really we all should. Will the Bills make the playoffs? Who knows but time will. I like to read and hear all these guys say how the Bills suck and giggle when people mention their name. Chan has a resume of a no BS get to business mind set. He instilled it with the team. If you read it, no S*** we are going to be a run first team. The last time I checked it wasn't 70 and sunny come mid Nov-Jan. Buffalo had a decent run team that needed some tweeks. THE BASICS were lost and he's seen it. A team that lost 17-19 players and still goes 6-10 with a fired OC at the start and a fired HC in the midle shows the talent is there. For all those who said get a OT and a QB is a joke. The proof is in the pudding. We had a very strong secondary and no upfront push, from the D line is why we lost alot. Our secondary will be stronger with a better push upfront which translates into a less time on the field for our D. All that being said, I really for see the Bills looking very much like a team that was just kickass back in the day with a guy named slash. OH yeah the Steelers..... The OC??? Chan the man. All the bashers I really like to have a beer with you after the season so you can eat the peanuts out of my.................. Bills will be much better hands down. 8-8 min.
