Prediction: Fitzpatrick Looks Bad Against Baltimore
DreReed83 replied to NaPolian8693's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If for some reason Mallett dies on the field, Luck doesnt come out and Locker quits football, then I'd say we take someone else like a d-linemen. Im not saying draft a QB at "all costs" but there will be a QB worth the money. Why's it ridiculous to say that taking a QB will be the best thing? 1. Do you want to see my big board? I could care less what drafttek's big board is cuz I guarantee they're not 100% accurate. 2. I could say the same about all the defensive players you named. 3. The CURRENT starter is probably the best player on our offense. You're right. But I still don't see him being a long term answer. It takes a while to develop a QB in this league. AWHILE. So why not take a QB and have him sit and bring him along slowly while we already have a great QB coach in Gailey? What's so wrong with that? 2 years later, Fitz leaves, and we have a QB ready to take over and we won't miss a beat on offense. Kinda like the way the Chargers and Packers brought in Rivers and Rodgers. It's mindblowing that that you can't grab that concept. Mindblowing. If you think that Fitz will bring this team to the Super Bowl within the next 2 or 3 years then I say you're right. Lets go another route with the number 1 pick. But that obviously isnt happening. -

Sorry not worth the number 1 draft pick. You're gonna pay THAT much money for a d-linemen? They better be the best d-linemen in NFL history. I don't see those guys making the kind of impact that Mario Williams made. I'd consider outside the top 3 or 5 but not at the number 1 or 2. Is it really that hard to think logically? Do you think that Fitz will be the face of this franchise and bring us to the Super Bowl? NO. Sure he's playing well now, but try thinking 2 or 3 years down the line. How many opportunities do we have to take a QB with the number 1 overall pick? Do we EVER get this kind of opportunity to take a franchise QB? NO. So why not take it? -

And what college football LT, OLB and DE is worth a top 2 or 3 spot right now? I'd LOVE to hear this. So let's say that the best avaiable LB, or D-linemen is number 10 on the Bills board. You take him ahead of a QB? Makes sense. -

OK...let's REACH and take an OT, OLB, and DE who isn't worth that draft position. Great draft strategy. This isn't just the first round. This is a possible shot at a FRANCHISE QB. Fitz is NOT a franchise QB. So why not draft a QB that could lead our team for the next 10 years possibly? No its NOT like taking a RB when you already have 2 solid starters. THATS JUST DUMB. RB's are a dime a dozen and can be found in rounds 2 or 3 or 4 or 5. Great RB's can be found on the streets. It's A LOT harder to find a franchise QB than it is a RB so sorry. That argument is just assinine. -

You honestly think that Fitz is THIS good of a QB? Or do you think it's because Chan is just a great mentor to QB's? Do you think that Fitz has been a hidden gem for the last couple years? I don't think so. This has been due to Chan's knowledge of the position and if he can take an AVERAGE QB and make him look decent. Then I can't imagine what he'd do with a potential franchise QB like Luck. We're most likely earning the number 1 draft pick this year. If not at least the 2 or 3. Spending a high number one with the intent to sit him for a couple years? That's how you develop a franchise QB junior. You ease him into the NFL. And if you take a QB like Luck and develop him slow with a mentor like Chan, then you're most likely going to end up with a franchise QB. Fitz is still a good stopgap QB but he's not a long time answer. Even if you have 2 good QBs on your roster, whats wrong with that? Lets say we earn the number 1 overall pick. What player do you suggest we take??? -

PLEAAAAASEEEE. Fitz is not a long term answer for this franchise. He's nearly an effective stopgap, and if we do in fact get the number 1 overall pick, we're taking a QB. DL and LB's? We picked up Dwan Edwards, and took 2 D-linemen with our first 3 picks and you still think we'll go d-line with a possible number 1, 2 or 3 draftt pick? What D-lineman is worth that spot in college football right now? Nobodys gonna wanna trade up with us and pay that much money for a player. We're taking a QB. NOTHING wrong with taking a QB and having him sit for a year or 2 -

whoaaa. I know everyones excited about Fitz but I wouldn't say he's a top 10 QB. and PLEASE don't put Fitz in the same sentence as Brady and Brees. -
I STILL want our first pick to be a QB. The biggest difference this year has been Chan Gailey. Without Chan's coaching and tutoring, Fitz wouldnt be what he is right now. If Chan can take an average QB like Fitz and turn him into what he is right now, just imagine what he can do with someone like Luck or Locker. Yes Fitz has been impressive, but I give 99% of the credit to Chan Gailey.

I don't trust a spread option QB with little playing experience to take over this team. No thanks.

James Harrison pondering retirement
DreReed83 replied to smuvtalker's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There can still be hard hits in football. Just no helmet to helmet. I don't see what the big deal is. James Harrison is just a thug in football gear. -
What GM / Coach tandem would you look to hire?
DreReed83 replied to Bronc24's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Pioli and Cowher. -
Any good coach or GM that comes in and changes a bad team to a good team does one thing first. Establish the offensive line. It's what Parcells always does and it's what Shanahan does. Not really difficult. First thing Shanahan does is draft Trent Williams and trade for Jammal Brown. now their offensive line is just as good as any. It should take no more than one season to build a successful o-line.

I Think This Sunday Will Tell A Lot

You need our next game to be a gauge of how bad we are? Like our last 5 games this year didn't show you? Or all of last season? It has to be the next game that shows you how bad we are? C'mon maaan -
Wish we would do what the Raiders are doing

What's McKelvin done for us? McGee? You got to be kidding me. McGee averaging a whopping 2 INT's the last 4 years. Yea...those are great numbers for a starting CB. McKelvin? Just 2 INT's in his entire sorry excuse for a career. Both of them are expendable. Our biggest mistake was letting Greer go. He was by far our best cover corner and we let him walk. -
I didn't have to read past the first line to know how dumb of a post this was.

Codero Howard to Start At Right Tackle...
DreReed83 replied to BillsPhan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
San Fransisco is 2nd in the league in QB hits right behind the Bears. I'm kinda glad we didn't take a RT with a top 10 pick. Who does that? -
This kid will be playing football for a major D-1 school and will probably be making millions of dollars in the future. What have you accomplished in your life besides sniffing Harvin's jock strap?

Annnnd teams have never loaded the box in the past? Even when Deangelo and Jonathon rushed for an average of nearly 2,300 yds the last 2 years? You sure teams weren't loading the box. Hey. If teams are loading the box and my RB is still averaging 4.7 yds a carry, then thats pretty good in my book. Single data point which is skewed by a few big gainers? I guess then Barry Sanders was the most overrated piece of sht running back in NFL history. His numbers were OBVIOUSLY skewed by a few big gainers.

Why do the Bills change all O-Line positions
DreReed83 replied to VirginiaMike's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The same way the Bears moved Urlacher from safety to LB. the same way they move LB's to DE's and DE's to OLB's. The same way the Steelers move Hines Ward who played QB to WR. The same way the Steelers moved Antwan Randle El from QB to WR. The same way the Patriots moved Julian Edelman from QB to WR. The same way the Browns moved Josh Cribbs from QB to WR. The same way the Jets moved Brad Smith from QB to WR. Teams do it ALL the time. So what's the point you're trying to make? You talk as if we're the only team that does this. -
James Harrison: "I don't care if I hurt players"
DreReed83 replied to stevestojan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If the retard knows the difference between hurting and injuring, then he shouldn't be inflicting helmet to helmet hits on 2 people in the same game. The guy's trying to cover his own azz. -
That was ALMOST funny.
-
Sparse talent? No they're losing because their offensive coordinator and coach are RETARDED. They have one of the best RB tandems in the league and they don't run the ball. No ball control what so ever. Deangelo Williams averages almost 5 yds a carry, yet he barely gets the rock 15 times a game. They have talent. You stick in a rookie QB, and your RB averages almost 5 yds a carry. And you make your rookie QB sling the ball almost 30 times a game? Way to protect your QB.
