  1. In what way is he like Trent? Did you even watch the Senior Bowl? 7-13, 135 yds and like 2 TDs, 0 INTs was Ponder's numbers. Great poise, good control, athletic, and accurate. Will he be the next big QB? I dont know. But I know that he'll have a better chance of getting there than Colin will. When you're only argument to why you like a QB is his arm strength and velocity, Boller and Russell come to mind. I didn't directly compare Colin to Kyle.
  2. You obviously weren't watching carefully. He either chucked it to his first read, and then scrambled while staring down his first read. Never does he sit in the pocket calmly and progress through ALL his reads. It's a shame that you don't see this because that's exactly what I see. Sure he is by far the most athletically gifted athlete at QB this year, but that's not gonna cut it. I've seen a lot of his games and I see things COMPLETELY different.
  3. I'm sure you said the same exact thing when you first saw Kyle Boller. You probably DROOLED when he threw the ball 70 yds from his knees. Velocity don't mean sht if you can't make the reads and put it on the money. Give me a QB with an OK arm, high IQ, and poise.
  4. You forgot Ken Dorsey
  5. I'll take the more polished passer over the gimmick QB any day of the week. Cam Newton doesn't know how to make reads. Nor is he that much of a polished QB. Sorry, but I'll take Gabbert over Newton any day of the week. They're both raw, but Gabbert has a higher upside than Newton and a shorter distance to get there. To me, not knowing how to read defenses is a big no no, and it's clear that Newton doesn't know how to. He goes with his first read and if its not there, he runs. Doesnt know how to check down. Doesn't know how to run through his 2nd and 3rd options. Just a disaster waiting to happen.
  6. Ponder's mechanics were also light years ahead of Kaepernick. His decision making was more precise and you could tell he has a better grasp of the QB position than Colin ever well. Senior Bowl made me a believer in Ponder.
  7. If we do take Green, then we better be able to find someone who's willing to trade for Evans.
  8. If we can go into next season with Cullen Jenkins, Barry Cofield, Kyle Williams, Dwan Edwards, Torrell Troupe, Marcus Stroud and take someone like Bowers, Fairley with our first pick, that would be a great start.
  9. Barry Cofield and Cullen Jenkins would be at the top of my list.
  10. We allowed an average of 170 yds per game (3RD MOST RUSHING YDS PER GAME AVERAGE IN THE LAST 10 YEARS) with almost 5 yds per carry. Both dead last in the league. With teams rushing 36 times per game which is the most in the league. With our defense allowing 27 points per game. This sht needs to stop.
  11. Name ONE WR in this year's Super Bowl that was taken within the first round. Greg Jennings? Hines Ward? Greg Jennings? Mike Wallace? James Jones? Sorry but they were all late round picks. Green is a luxury pick which we can't afford right now. I can even see him going to Carolina and give Clausen a big target to work with.
  12. Nobodies disagreeing with you about Green's talent, but this year's draft class is full of d-line talent. This is where we should go with our 1st pick. WR right now isn't a necessity just like the Spiller pick last year. That was a JOKE.
  13. I disagree. Players that participate in the Super Bowl should also have the privilege to play in the Pro Bowl. They ESPECIALLY earned the right to a trip to Hawaii with their families. 10 players werent able to participate in the Pro Bowl this year because they're playin in the SB the following week. That's lame.
  14. Easley? What's he done so far? A one year wonder at college and a training camp sensation. Maybe he is gonna be great. Maybe not? Not saying AJ Green is the right answer but, don't know why you're even bringing up Easley's name.
  15. I respect both teams and I LOVE this SB matchup. Such great history between the 2 teams, and 2 of the best and classiest organizations in the league. But let's go Pack !!!
  16. NFL Pro Bowl is the most lame sporting event, but I don't blame the players for not playing full speed. Why would you play full speed? To tear up your knee and risk ruining your career in a meaningless game? It sucks that the game is so lame, but it is, what it is.
  17. I could care less what he does in practice if it doesn't translate in the game. I care about what he does on the field during gametime and he looked bad. He can make all the throws? You sure about that? Jamarcus had a rocket arm too. Where did that get him? I'd rather have a guy like Ponder and McElroy who are poised QBs who actually know how to play the position. Kaepernick is a poor man's Newton. And I'd consider Newton to be an average QB. So you can continue to look at what he did in "practice." And I'll continue to look at what he did in the game. A QB who seemed rattled when under pressure, missed reads, bad mechanics under pressure, run first and pass second mentality when flushed out of the pocket. No thanks
  18. Were you guys watching the same game i was watching? Kaepernick was BAD. His delivery was slow, rushed his throws, missed his reads. He's a project QB who isn't even guaranteed to be good. The only QBs i saw that did decent was Ponder and McElroy. I recall a redzone play where he bootlegged to his right. The first option was to a WR on the bottom of the screen. A simple hook pattern, but of course he missed the read and just threw it out of bounds. No thanks
  19. In what way has he paid his due? So what. He lost his millions of dollars, and now he's getting it all back. If an average person was arrested for all the charges he was dealt, there's no way we'd be making the kind of money he's making right now. It wasn't even the fact that he just killed dogs. It's HOW he did it. Strangling them. Drowing them. Hanging them. Beating them to the ground. Electrocuting them. He's a gloried athlete so sentences are a lot more lenient. This legal system favors the rich and famous. If an average joe like you and me did this, we'd be flipping burgers for the next 10 years So tell me where he's paid his due?
  20. Why? From what I'm hearing about the kid, he seems lost. Can't cover people. Can't make plays. Can't seem to do anything right. If you're just enamored with his name, that's just not cutting it. I wouldnt mind him as a 6th round pick but nothing more.
  21. I'll take Stanzi over Dalton any day of the week
  22. He's supposedly tearing it up at the senior bowl. An unstoppable force.
  23. D+ would be more like it. First RB off the board and he wasn't even in the top 5 of rookie RBs (yds from scrimmage). Being outperformed by Jahvid Best, Toby Gerhart, Cory Ivory, Ryan Mathews, Lagarette Blount, that's just embarassing. 21 million guaranteed? Way to earn that money Spiller !!
