Greatest season by Bills rookie

CJ Spiller? -
Yes. We've had great luck with picking up o-linemen in free agency (Cornell Green, Derrick Dockery, Melvin Fowler, Mike Gandy, Tutan Reyes, Langston Walker). Let's keep it up.
-
Yes I do. One read down the field. Not there? Run it !! Maybe if he were throwing to WRs who are 6'10" tall and a 40" vertical, they'd be able to catch some of his overthrown balls at the combine.
-
I agree. Don't bother trying to convince the Newton lovers. They got suckered and bought into the hype. Probably the same people who fell in love with Jamarcus Russell and Kyle Boller.
-
Outside his 40, vertical and broad jump, he failed to deliver. His deep ball was great but thats all he does. Chuck it up in the air. I'm surprised he just didn't take off and run with the ball in some occasions.

Mechanically sound QB with great size, good arm, big hands, accurate, and played in a pro style offense. What's not to like about the kid? Locker or Stanzi should be Buffalo's pick. Sit them 2 years behind Fitz and should be ready to go couple years down the line. Gotta love QBs that played in pro style offenses at college.
-
Usually teams like taller tackles because taller people usually have larger wingspans and longer arms. Most tackles in the NFL I would say are around 6'6" to 6'8" on average. But what would I know
-
Only 1 QB in the 1st? I see 3 or 4. I can see Newton, Gabbert, and Mallett going in the 1st. Some poor chump will buy into Newton's hype.
-
I would be excited if we took Locker in the 2nd or Stanzi in the 3rd.
-
O wait. Here's another guy who was somehow a sub 60% completion passer but managed to improve his accuracy to 64% in his last year. What's going on here?

We'll Be Drafting Our Franchise QB This Year
DreReed83 replied to Bangarang's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hmmmm. Locker looked accurate and impressive? Who would've thought According to some people, you can't improve accuracy. I won't mention any names. You know who you are. -
Hmmmmm. Before this year, he was a sub 60% completion passer. Somehow he managed to improve his accuracy to 65%. I guess he did the IMPOSSIBLE. Thought accuracy couldn't be improved
-
I'd take this guy over Kaepernick and Newton any day of the week.
-
WOW was he inaccurate at the combines. OBVIOUSLY accuracy can never be improved to the point where he'll be salvageable. Bad mechanics. Bad footwork. Trouble with his 3 and 5 step drops. Balls sailing high. So you guys want an unpolished, overhyped, self centered, egotistical, inaccurate QB that can't read defenses to be our future QB? AND YES I'M BACK !!!!!!!!!

i already know he'll fail since QBs that don't know how to read defenses is never successful at the next level. Which is why no option QB never succeeds in the NFL. -
Carucci: Bills GM Nix likes Cam Newton "a great deal"
DreReed83 replied to Marshmallow's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You do know theres a difference between a spread option and a spread offense right? So you still havent named an option QB thats made it successfully to the next level. Try again. I clearly do. So how did Vick improve his completion percentage from 45% and 55% career to 62% this year? Please tell me. Also tell me how U of Washington is an "elite" program? I'd love to hear this. -

DreReed83 replied to Marshmallow's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Because all 3 of those QBs are pocket passers that think pass first and not run first? At the NFL level, you have to be able to read the defense. Cam Newton came out of an option spread offense. Please name ONE QB that came out of an option offense in college that became successful at the next level. Name ONE. If we go QB with the 3rd i'll take my chances with Gabbert. -
Rank our Defensive Players Against each other
DreReed83 replied to Swift Sylvan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Lets just say that Kyle Williams is the only player on our defense that we can't afford to lose. Moats is definately up and coming. Everyone else in my opinion is expendable. -
Jack Locker can't hit the broadside of a barn
DreReed83 replied to 1B4IDie's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They're not. This kid doesn't know what he's talking about. Any team that loses 6 games in a season is NOT considered "elite." In college football I wouldn't even consider a team that loses 3 or 4 games "elite." -

WOW...we know who we're taking before combines and pro days? give me a break people. -

1) There are so many things wrong with this post its not even funny. Drops ball aren;t an excuse for completion percentage? If a QB were to throw every pass to a receiver and hit him between the numbers and his receivers drop 60% of the passes, then it would be the QBs fault? I guess that's no excuse. BS 2) I just have 2 words for you. Michael Vick. A career 45 and 55% completion percentage and his first year back under Reid's tutelage, and improved footwork, his percentage goes up to 62% in 2010. I thought accuracy was innate? 3) Washington is NOT an elite program. Just because they play D1 doesn't mean they're elite. Oregon, Florida, Alabama, Boise State, are "ELITE" teams. You comparing Washington to these teams? Elite teams dont lost 6 games in a season. Sorry. 4) So its clear that you're misunderstood on this whole accuracy thing. You've coached football? Obviously never a good one at that. Let those kids learn from a real coach. -

By your posts, I can tell you've never played the game and clearly have no idea what you're talking about. Accuracy can't be taught? WRONG. Accuracy is all mechanics. Balance, stance, footwork. If you fix that, then no problem. It's A LOT easier to fix accuracy problems than teaching a QB like Newton how to play the position. Ryan Fitzpatrick's completion percentage would be a lot better if Steve Johnson and his WR's actually caught the ball. I'm guessing you never saw a Bills game either. How many passes did Steve Johnson drop against the Steelers? According to you, accuracy is a born ability? You're either born with accuracy or you're not? Retarded post number 1. 2) Washington University is an elite program? Best coaches in the nation? Steve Sarkisian is far from being the best coach in the nation. -

OK then we should've taken Timmy Chang, Graham Harrell and Colt Brennan. They're college numbers were GREAT. Ryan Leaf should've been the best QB in the NFL. Way better numbers AND better arm than lets say a Drew Brees and a Tom Brady right? If you look at a lot of the successful NFL QB's their numbers in college weren't mindblowing. They were efficient with the ability to play QB. That's what I look at. Can they play the position? Can they read defense? Do they have a high football IQ? Drew Brees, Tom Brady, Joe Flacco put up similar numbers in their last years in college. 20 some TDs and 5-7INTs . Something along those lines. Those aren't record setting numbers but they know how to play QB. That's what I look at. Not college numbers. College stats are skewed by the systems they run so I don't really care to see them. Don't care at all. So drool away at his "NUMBERS" I'll look at the real reasons he'll fail at the next level. Like lack of experience at the college level. Lack of ability to read a defense. Relying too much on his natural abilities. Low football IQ. Stuff like that.
