  1. Great Post!!! I like it when fan's aren't afraid to get behind their team...even if it does mean you MAY get your heart broken later. Too many D-bags on here afraid to be proven wrong or getting hurt if they start BILLieving. Again Great post keep up the good work! ( other notable players to go along with your point- David Nelson, and Donald Jones)
  2. Marcel Darius has been an absolute stud....he IS getting pressure despite some serious double teams - i agree with this and i guess that's where i'm getting confused. If Marcell is being double teamed, K. Williams is probably being double teamed, that makes 4 blockers covering 2 people...NE used their TE's in the passing more than blocking game...so i feel like one of our fron 4 should be virtually unblocked...??? I know it can't be that easy...??
  3. ....still not happy? They were prepared...they just made stupid mistakes and penalties that took them out of the first half.
  4. the best is yet to come with this Defense Hope your Right!!!!!!!
  5. Not looking for Division at all. I'm just calling out those who seem to want to suck any sort of optimism there is for this team. If your a real fan than we are together on this...if your a "love to hate" the Bills type of fan then we are divided (i guess until they win a superbowl...and the fairweather fans come back). PS- not calling YOU out personally, just responding to your reply about me not being a fan for very long. I'm not troubled per say about the defense. 4int's against Brady is not a bad day at all. My concern/question was merely regarding the lack of pass rush...more specifically Merriman now vs. Merriman Pre-Season "lights out" mode.
  6. Cautiously optimistic is Different than Debbie Downer. Every Bills fan has the right to remain cautiously optimistic...I hoped to win against the Patriots, I felt we had a chance to beat them, but at the same time I didn't put $ on the game- "cautiously optimistic". The "debbie downers" of which I speak will find a way to credit each win as the other teams failure instead of our success.
  7. Great insight on the topic Born in Buffalo in 79' and a fan since whenever kids start watching football...became a Bills Fanatic around the 90's when i began to understand the game more, and also when it was difficult to face my gradeschool on monday for 4 straight years...in Pittsburgh Country. Wasn't a fan when they were wearing leather helmets, or before OJ wore leather isotoners, but always a fan.
  8. Thanks for the replies: I hated to be the guy who brings up the negative (see my contradictory post titled: "dont NOT get too giddy over that win") but i'll admit that i don't really understand blitz packages. My understanding is only when I see brady knocked on his arse...which i didn't see much of. some posters were saying that Merriman has been ineffective, which i don't want to believe after his breakout performance during preseason. I knew games 1 and 2 were geared towards stopping the run...but i thought this would be a blitz fest today. Either way i don't care.....agree with the other posters that 4 ints on brady was a very effective way to stop brady, but i am wondering what happened to the pressure that we saw in preseason? ( I know pre-season is different then reg season, not game planning, and all that...but i also saw merriman and dareus man-handling their opponents and getting to the qb...is there any other reason that this isn't the case now?)
  9. Im not buying superbowl tickets yet, but this is a young team that should only get better. (Fred and Fitz- still has quite a few years left in him.) Byrd, Williams, Dareus, Stevie, Jones, Spiller, Nelson and im sure a few that i'm missing are all really young.....imagine them when they have as much time together as brady and welker. The only thing that will piss me off about the Bills would be them not bucking up and paying these people. Even if they flop the rest of the season this team is on the up!!
  10. Debbie Downers: Buffalo vs the Chefs ( The Chefs were in the playoffs last year, and theres no way Buffalo (ranked 32nd against the run) can stop they're running game.) Buffalo Wins/Destroys the Chefs!! Debbie Downers: It's the first game of the season,The Chefs suck, lets see how they stack up next week against the bigger, more physical Raiders. Buffalo comes back to defeat the Raiders the following week. Debbie Downers: Lets see how they handle the Pats, thats the real test. I'll Billieve it when I see it. Alright Mother 's...........You BILLIEVE it now???? I've said it once and i'll say it again...This team can compete with and beat anyone in the league. If this is really your team, then you should stand behind them through the good and the bad. If you only like this team when their 3-0, then you are a fair weather fan who should throw on a pair uggs, smile like a beee-atch going down a water slide, and root for the pats. I saw alot of posters "man-up" on the "confession" forum but yes you can now get GIDDY with it. This is a better team than we have seen in a long time, whether they make the playoffs or not, this is a team with young heart heading in the right direction, and should only get better and better as time goes on. Sorry for the rant.
  11. I prefaced this thread by saying i hate myself for posting this. I am totally excited about this win, and am not one to piss in anyones cornflakes. This was a huge win, and this team is my favorite in the last 30 years of following the Bills. I know the first two games were geared towards stopping the run, but this was supposed to be a game where we were getting after the qb (at least according to most on this board). The win is all that matters but is anyone else concerned that there wasn't much pressure on Brady today? I'm no expert just a fan, so im throwing this out to you guys on the forum who maybe understand the strategy, or reason behind this. Did we not blitz cause we didn't want brady to exploit us, or did we blitz, and just werent very successful?? Major Props for this Game: * Fitz- never gave up and is a true leader! * Fred- not only running, recieving, but holy sh$t I never realized how amazing he was as a blocker too! (i saw him drive his man back literally 5 yards on one play, and made that monster of a man on the pats see stars on another.) *Stevie, Jones, Nelson- WHAT??? anyone still think we don't have good recievers? * Byrd- seemed to be in on almost every tackle....want more picks, but he is playing well. GO Bills!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. LOL! I was thinking the same thing. I think they should feature that in those "that was the second unmanly thing" commercials by miller lite.
  13. Agree! I love the fact that this team is Sandlot of the NFL. I hope Fitz, Fred, Stevie, and Nelson all get their due in terms of money and contracts, but keep that blue collar type of work ethic!
  14. I assume your Joking...but just in case your not- GFYS and find a new team! I hear Green Bay is selling tickets to the bandwagon!
  15. DING-DING-DING! You Porksword are the winner!!!!!! You're Right! I just feel better about each Sunday knowing that we do have what it takes to win on both sides of the ball....now we just need to make sure we bring "it" every Sunday! PS- thanks by the way....didn't even realize I had 100 posts on here.
  16. That was funny! "i can't believe this is the same car" ....odd way to celebrate a victory though I'll stick to "chest thumping" leave the DSing to the butt 's
  17. Bills fans Chest Thump.......Jersey fans Fist Pump Don't take this the wrong way... I am not classifying anyone that hasn't gotten their tickets to the superbowl as a "debbie downer". We as Bills fans reserve the right to remain cautious with our optomism. The "debbie downers" i am referring to are the ones that will never be satisfied with this team, the ones I wonder if they even like this team, and if they do i wonder why because they never seem to enjoy a victory. They are the ones who after the Bills won a superbowl, would be on this forum the next day saying Maybin is a bust, and we are gonna suck next year because ralph is cheap and our best waterboy went to the Jets in free-agency, while nix was asleep at the wheel again!
  18. When it comes to pesky insects you'll never get them all. Instead try using the mafia method...break one of their legs and send them back to tell their friends. Works especially well with mosquitos! Maybe we can get that dumbass Jets fan that comes on this forum to handle the debbie downers as well
  19. I agree....my point was that no one individually won that game/ no crazy stats- Fitz didnt' throw for 350, Fred didn't have 200 rushing and 3 tds, Byrd didn't have 3 ints, etc... not sure if i'm making my argument...but the point is that everyone played well, it wasn't some crazy uncharacteristic performance of one man who opposing teams can gameplan for and neutralize.
  20. i think i got carried away with the "NOT's".....pulled a triple negative instead of a double ~My Bad!
  21. As many of us are stoked about Sunday's win, the "debbie downers" of the forum come out and tell us not to get too happy over this win (KC sux, their line is terrible, blah, blah, blah)...To that i say "GFYS!" (let me know if you figure that out)and find a new team. I feel like I posted this a few times last season, stating that the Bills never seemed to all show up for the game. For example either the offense was great scoring 35 pts. and the defense sucked allowing 42pts, or vice versa the defense held a team to 7pts and the offense only put up 3. you get the point right? I always wondered what it would be like if offense and defense both played well the same game. Well Sunday the whole team showed up...everyone contributed as a team and the Bills layed the smackdown. No one on the Bills played extremely exceptional, or put up any crazy stats. They all did their job well and success followed. I'm not saying put this team on a pedestal (Chan told me not too!), but if the Bills show up the way they did on Sunday I think that they can play against anyone in the league. any thoughts? anyone disagree?
  22. I appreciate the input....like i disclaimed in the OP- my knowledge of O-line play consists of keeping the qb upright, and not committing penalties. What stood out to me the most was the two times that i saw Bell locked up 1:1 with Tamba Hali and practically lift him off of the ground and choke slam him. (ok the choke slam part was an exageration, but he did definately stand him up, and appeared to lift him off the ground)
  23. ......oh yeah and if anyone who understands OL play, can you tell me your thoughts on the rest of the OL?
  24. I want to preface this thread with a question: "did anyone else think we would be able to single out so many of our Bills for putting together such a great game?" Here's to hoping that this continues and brian moorman is not the mvp/face of the franchise for this team. I could go thru the entire starting roster and praise most for a great game, but i see that is already being done....and i love it! The one name I didn't see get any rec was D. Bell so i'll start one. Im not an expert by any means when it comes to judging linemen, more specifically i am not in tune with the technique/assignments, etc...But i did notice that T. Hali was being stood up and man-handled by D. Bell every time he came his way. I also noticed that they moved Hali to face off against Pears on the right, due to his lack of success against D. Bell. So my question to TBD is did Bell really have as good of a game as it seemed to me, or should i switch to Labatts Light next Sunday? Fire away
  25. I'm in! hopefully if the season goes well i'll be playing santa clause this Christmas. unfortunately it will probably be more like the kid from a Christmas story
