Unfortunately, I think this is exactly what they'll do.

Browns Sign QB Drew Stanton to a 2-Year Deal
nikuman replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Browns plan to trade Stanton to AZ for the 15th pick, so they'll have 3 first round picks. -
Sometimes the 5th or 6th or 7th best QB in the draft isn't all that bad. I know the odds are against it, but these "good guys" all met the criteria. That's just shy of 1/3 of the starting QBs last year? Brady - 7th TT - 11th Dalton - 5th Cousins - 8th Wilson - 6th Foles - 7th Keenum - Undrafted Garoppolo - 5th Prescott - 8th

Because in the history of the NFL all of the "young potential franchise" QBs have been drafted within the first three picks?

Would the Browns accept this trade for 1st overall?

To me, this feels a lot like the Ditka trade for Ricky Williams....and Williams was a "can't miss" prospect. How did that turn out again? -
Mason Rudolph...Big, accurate, mobile.strong
nikuman replied to Bustersit's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was just wondering the same thing. This article also suggests that his knowledge, skills and abilities are on par with other QBs in the "top QB" discussion: https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/news/2018-nfl-draft-rankings-accuracy-arm-strength-and-everything-to-know-about-qbs/ It sounds like you guys are saying that he wouldn't be rated so well if he was playing in a different type of offense? Why wouldn't these skills translate to the NFL? Whoa, he can play cornerback too? -
I get your point on moving parts, but draft history proves that there's no sure thing at #22....or any position for that matter.

You think we'd have to go as high as 13 to get Vea?
-
Every single discussion of a 1st round trade that I've seen out there has the Bills moving up in the first round. But given the number of holes we have to fill, I think we pick at #21 then see if there's anyone who wants to move up for the #22 pick. Based on the value chart, it looks like we could pick up an extra 2nd or 3rd round pick by dropping back 10-15 places. Arguments for or against?

10 Reasons Why Tyrod will have a great year
nikuman replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree that #7 is optimistic, at best.....but am I the only one who believes that we're going to miss Hogan a whole lot more than Harvin? I hope that losing Harvin to NE doesn't come back to bite us. -

0 games, 0 catches, 0 yards, 0 TD's. How about "The Big 0"? Or, we can wait for him to actually do something before we give him a nickname.
-
Right, this is exactly what I was thinking. The season ended 5 months ago...if the problem cropped up during the season, why wait 5 months for surgery? I think it's OK to to question their "selective" timing.

Potential veteran QBs available next year
nikuman replied to truth on hold's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, then, we'd better sign three more because I'm gonna go ahead and assume that our backup QB's will catch some performance-debilitating infection on a Carnival Cruise. -
Potential veteran QBs available next year

Oh, we're assuming he's going to fail already?!? I'm with Max997 on this. If you're wagons are truly circled, then you're doing your daily affirmations and proclaiming him a future multi-superbowl winning Hall of Famer...not looking for your next QB already. -
WR Stevie Johnson traded to San Francisco 49ers
nikuman replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was just logging in to say this exactly! Check yer math, folks. This really does make sense -- Williams is a 900-ish yard receiver if he's on his game and we don't have Drew Brees, so there just won't be enough passes to keep three 1000-ish yard receivers employed. And which one of them would be the first to complain about lack of passes coming his way??? Yeah. -
Exactly! It's easy to blame the QB for holding the ball too long, but what's he supposed to do when his receivers can't get open? Seems to support the argument that we need a true #1 receiver and slide Stevie to the slot.

Official retroactive complaint thread

What were they thinking at OBD when they let Jim Kelly retire? If they cared about retaining talent, he'd still be under contract. -
Or, more recently, Jerry Hughes?

Maybe we're going to sign LeBron to a max deal next summer?

Rd 2, Pick #46: LB Kiko Alonso - Oregon

SI.com has Kiko rated higher than Minter, for what it's worth. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/nfl/draft-2013/tracker/#tracker/2 -

DeadSpin - Convo Between Nix and Tampa GM
nikuman replied to Jauronimo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why isn't anyone calling for Nix' head? Is he still worthy of sitting in the GM seat? Would we be worse off firing him now?
