New stadium vs. Existing Stadium
FitzShowUsYourTitz replied to SouthernMan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've been to the "new" soldier field several times. GREAT sight lines. All the bells and whistles are nice. But the ticket prices and PSL's are outrageous! The stadium is right downtown and there is PLENTY of tailgating going on. With that said. Give me the old Soldier Field or even the Ralph and I'm fine. I think Goodell says the Bills need a new one simply because he probably knows that for us (or any team), we need the revenue it would generate long term. I do think he is really looking at that. Obviously it's a double edged sword. -
Tebow Takes First Team Snaps
FitzShowUsYourTitz replied to hondo in seattle's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's just soooo sad for all of us that the media has to play the Jests up so much that we have to hear about the excructiating minutiae about every single daily event that is The Jests Training Circus. He threw 2 passes. OMFG. Seriously.......A real FOOTBALL writer might want to write a story about the WR's or lack there of. Or.....isn't there another team in NY that won the Super Bowl last year? Are they still playing this year?? http://youtu.be/spYW0gutg38 -
Pats* O-line may be in trouble

The NFL only allows us to play them after their buy week, so this will never be possible in the future. -
Maybin getting a lot of NY hype
FitzShowUsYourTitz replied to RunTheBall's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
" A relentless rusher off the edge, Maybin, who last season forced four fumbles and registered six sacks, could line up inside, in the middle or, as he did in Saturday night’s scrimmage, as a down lineman, depending on how Pettine leverages matchups. But one of the more intriguing subplots of training camp is Maybin’s quest to shed his reputation as one-dimensional (according to ProFootballFocus.com, he rushed the quarterback on 94.9 percent, or 185, of his 195 passing plays last season, the most among regular 3-4 outside linebackers). The Jets’ coaches, especially Rex Ryan, would never try to discourage him, but there is a natural progression on the journey to dominance, and it starts with viability:[/b] can Maybin evolve into a true all-around linebacker — a pass-rushing dynamo, a run-stuffing fiend, an asset in coverage?" This whole article and conversation simply has me Laughing my A$$ off. Seriously. OMFG !!!!!! Who can imagine him lining up in the middle? OR as a down lineman? Or a run stuffing fiend?? HAHAHHA I love how the writer is talking about how his journey to dominance starts with VIABILITY. Really? Seriously? Oh I love articles from training camps are so optimistic in the dog daze of summer. Now can you imagine how are team feels about Maybin? Should be a fun first game!! -
Don't be a hater. Or....."Don't hate the player, hate the game."

Former nfl running back travis henry is being conditionally reinstated by the nfl according to a league source with knowledge of situation. Link: Someone has been bills to pay? Maybe he will get a gig by mid-season thru injury. Otherwise I can't see anyone giving him much of a shot. At the Goal Line though.....he could be difficult to take down.

Agreed......but...I am not so sure we have THAT much depth on our O-line to get overly excited about. What great talent is really getting cut on the O-line. I think we should make the playoffs this year....but overall talent is probably another year away. Just my .02 -
Great article about Darryl Talley. Man I loved this guy when he played but reading this article I realized he may be my Favorite Bill of All Time: http://www.cleveland.com/sports/college/index.ssf/2012/07/former_shaw_high_star_darryl_t.html "....Nehlen still remembers how Talley gave highly-rated Pittsburgh All-American quarterback Dan Marino fits. And how he once nearly decapitated Maryland quarterback Boomer Esiason on a blitz. He blocked punts and intercepted passes. He was fast and quick and smart. "Darryl Talley was a one-man wrecking crew," Nehlen said. "He was just all over the field, all over the field." How great it that. He terrorized Marino in college and in the pros. There were soooo many good players on the Bills when he played I almost forgot how talented he was. (and he seams like a great guy too.) Congrats on the College Hall. Now he needs to be in the Pro Football Hall!!!

Jets have been quiet

This ^^ Plus the fact that training camp hasn't even started and Rex finally learned what his players have learned. He's a blowhard who should be kept off HBO's Hard Knocks! (they do have a decent team, can't wait for the IMPLOSION!!!!!!!) -
It's time to get revved up!!

How many of you bet on the Bills?
FitzShowUsYourTitz replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like to do Over/under for season wins. I have bet on Bills and other teams and won more than lost. I REALLY like the over this year. I mean I really like the over. I think Vegas has us at 7 wins. That's a steal!!! -
What were the Best Seats at a Event Personally
FitzShowUsYourTitz replied to millbank's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't like to tell this story online because most would not believe. I actually snuck into Game 4 and Game 6 of the Sabres Stanley Cup against Dallas. Many years ago I worked at the old Aud and also knew some people that worked at HSBC. Game 4, I met up with a friend inside who runs the beer concessions. He took me up the back elevator to the 200 level bar/restaurant area about 2 hours before game-time. Ended up meeting Darren Pang and Barry Melrose while they were getting their make-up put on. Sat at the table overlooking the ice right above Hasek. We won. Game 6, my brother and I wore suits and followed 6 Dallas Stars players into HSBC about 2.5 hours before game-time. Same thing met my friend, up the back elevator and sat in the same seats. FREAKIN' AMAZING!!! (Except for Brett Hull). Not the best seats in the house.....but damn good and free! My best seats were at Wrigley Field about 7 years ago. They had just built @ 5 new rows behind home plate. My buddy took about 6 of us at $500 bucks a pop. Saw Mark Prior pitch a great game. Again, didn't cost me a cent for the tickets......I guess it is true: The best things in life are free. I am guessing that was at The Chance in Poughkeepsie. Amazing place to see music!! Small and intimate. -
