Even though the lag sucks it has been getting a little better as it goes...should be better this year. Just do what I do and set a basic precedent that texts should be at commercials...or don't look at phone until commercials...refresh the feed at halftime.
Slingbox won't work any better than streaming package and it will be more trouble.
Honestly w/ Tyrod's arm strength and ability to extend plays + our support players...complex zones could be a disaster. I think Tyrod is probably more comfortable escaping and hitting a guy streaking in a zone spot he had extra time to find than he is in the pocket doing the same against man.
Bottom line is you can't really gameplan for Tyrod and this Bills squad. We are a nightmare on paper. You have to be prepared to adapt in game to whatever the hell it is we end up sucking at and dominating at.
Do you think that most 1-2 read, waterbug, gimmick QBs have the support players he has? You want to devote 2 over the top spies on 3rd and long with Sammy, Percy, Woods, Clay and McCoy out there?
Not just targeted at you, but I would love for Green Bay to stack the box with Percy, Sammy, Woods, Clay, and McCoy as a target at there.
We are LOADED with talent so if Tyrod's presence means more man than we were going to get anyway, good.
Legend has it, Azor Ahai labored for 30 days to create the sword that would defeat the darkness only to have it break. He tried again for 50 days and nights, and it broke again. Only on the third try, after laboring for 100 days and nights and driving the blade through his loving wife's heart did he form the mythical weapon that would defeat the darkness.
We just cut out our heart guys. Bring on the playoffs.
Tyrod:
is the most dynamic player
is the toughest player to gameplan for and defend
is exciting
has a masters degree in not turning it over and relying on defense from college (aka Beamer ball)
is our starter
Good work Bills. Nice.
I get all the reasons why it is the way it is, but I agree with you on this one. It could be done. Probably won't be a normal thing to do anytime soon, but a team could do it right now and possibly be better than if they didn't do it.
I'm actually somewhat interested to see EJ take a few snaps w/ the 1s now that we have other options and he's avoided a meltdown for 2 preseason games going against 3s.
Injuries are really hurting us and I agree--it's' negative. It's also frustrating, with all 3 WRs injured right now I can't tell if it's caution to make sure they're ready or if it'll bleed over. Same with Karlos and Shady. It bothers me Kyle may be hobbled. It all bothers me.
We have a chance to start really strong by maybe stealing the opener against Indy by virtue of being at home w/ energy and new roster and looks...then we play a Bradyless Pats at home. Then it's on the road to a competitive Dolphins team that could very well beat us in that spot at their home.
A huge part of the ideal path to prosperity this year is to steal 2 quick games against the toughest opponents on the schedule. You have to assume a split w/ the Pats at best, and a likely split with the Dolphins. You also have to assume a tight divisional race. So the first Pats game and the Indy game as a conference tie-breaker are huge. We steal those, we look damn good even if we drop a tough on @Mia week 3. If we show up banged up from the start and average at best at QB (which you have to assume re: qb)--could make the entire season an uphill climb w/ no room for error.
We can't give up on the memory of EJ actually playing QB for us b/c his fan boys won't give up making excuses for him/lobbying for him--inexplicably--despite us having Tyrod (and Cassel).
EJ was so bad in those 2 games our WRs body language showed it openly...it can't be debated. Make excuses for him if you like, but EJ was BAD (not just rookie bad)--no fandom can erase that.
EJ was 2-2, but played so bad he was basically responsible for loses in week 3 and 4. One good thing Marrone did was have the balls to cut the cord on EJ, for the franchise, immediately and not let the train wreck waste more years ....
