  1. Deep down EJ knows damn well he's played terrible and cannot play any better.
  2. EJ will be out of the league within the next 2 years (maybe in the next 2 months).
  3. Alright we got a win that I did not feel we would get immediately after the Jacksonville game. Fair to say the Jets are pretty close to us despite the win (more than fair given the way it played out), but when predicting an inevitable split it changes considerably after you win first matchup (on the road especially). Looking back...I definitely still feel strongly about the 2 game win streak coming off the Pats game. I have no idea what the Eagles or Cowboys games will be like, and I know the second Jets game will likely be tough (real tough) again. We should beat the Skins. I officially adjust best case scenario to 10 wins and declare best case scenario playoffs in light of the current state of the AFC. My topic was wrong. I'm still not thrilled with the way the Bills are positioned (even at our current #5 playoff spot--until Sunday anyway)...but I failed to take into account the poor state of the AFC at the time (something a few posters pointed out then--props). The bottom line is if we can stay healthy and play well enough to win...w/ the Jets on our schedule twice (at the time of the post) we need only out-win one of the banged-to-hell-up Steelers or still-the-raiders Raiders. Go Bills. Happy to look back on this topic and feel like things are going better than best case scenario. PS: It helps that the Dolphins were actually as fraudulent as I say they are after few beers at the bar...but it's tough to believe what has happened with them. Even though we pulled off the win though...I think the Jets are better today than I thought at the time I made this topic.
  4. Huge game. We must have this one, and if we don't play desperate and with urgency that's on Rex. More than anything else, I expect us to show up amped. If we get a few penalties, so be it. I can live with it. Top Stories for me 1. Sammy v. Revis. Most expect Revis to shadow Sammy. Sammy is coming off his best game as a pro, and Tyrod is really locked in with right now. Revis is great, but has been burned a bit this year (including Allen Robinson). Time for Sammy to string a few games together and establish himself as a reason we win consistently. Primetime v. Revis would be a statement. 2. Bill's Oline run blocking against the Jets front 7. This one is pretty self-explanatory. When we give our backs a little something to work with, we win the game. The Jets secondary has been a bit weak, but their front 7 has been tough against the run. Bills have a hard time winning without winning here, but could win big if they play nasty on the Oline. 3. The Bills pass rush. Nick Mangold may or may not play (and play well). Lets see something from Dareus Thursday night. I also think Mario is due for a big game. Hughes should keep it up. I'm optimistic that we will eventually get this thing running again but we need it to happen tomorrow night to keep the dream alive. 4. The Bills cornerbacks. Jets have weapons outside. We have corners we like. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens. Bills Players to watch 1. Mario Williams. I think Mario is due and I think it happens tomorrow night. I think he'll be after Fitz all night. 2. Robert Woods. The Jets secondary is weak and Revis will likely shadow Sammy. If this guy is going to show up, he should do so tomorrow. I think he'll have opportunity and I expect him to step up tomorrow night. 3. Karlos Williams. I smell a huge game for him. Prediction Bills play with energy and have big success on a few early drives with some prescripted stuff against the Jets defense. The game balances out but over time the Bills pass rush gets going and Mario has a big game. Woods gradually and quietly puts together good game moving the chains. Karlos runs wild in the second half. Sammy is unable to expose Revis and eventually the Jets hit a few big plays in the passing game. In the end, we get a huge win and for the first time all season walk away feeling like it was because of defense. Bills - 28 Jets - 17
  5. With Revis shadowing Sammy and Tyrod back in there ... Woods should show up Thursday. Good game to test the thesis of this topic. Give us 2 TDs and 100+ yards Thursday night while looking fast and involved and I'll happily eat my words.
  6. Weekly captains make sense. Everyone knows who the real leaders are...naming capatains sets a theme and adds some little meaning to each week. In an extra big week ...you name the real leaders. If he wants to troll the Jets then so be it.
  7. Lets see how we play against the Jets. Until we are finally KO'd there is always the chance for the defense to hold on and redeem itself.
  8. Like I said through osmosis. Bills radio, articles, this place, some random PFF statistic that I hear....I'm not saying I would necessarily know what happened last week but if it were a consistent thing with him it is likely that, with the amount of NFL/Bills stuff I get, I would have heard some good stuff about Woods. I never hear anything at all about Robert Woods.
  9. And what I'm saying is, that could be true...but it is more likely that if Robert Woods was consistently wide open all day and nobody ever threw him the ball I would know about it. I don't have the coaches tape and I don't study Woods...but I consume a lot of Bills media. Nobody even talks about him, he is rarely even a topic for discussion.
  10. Watching "the tape?" No, are you? I watch the TV broadcast though, he is rarely featured.
  11. I didn't really live it but I still agree with the other guy. Sick of hearing about it and kind of ready to move on and just focus on the current team...better to pretend this team has no history at this point.
  12. Percy and Sammy have been hurt pretty consistently so he's had every opportunity and he's had 2 ok games...(1) 60 yrds and a TD while the Pats were curb stomping us, and (2) a solid 84 yrds on 9 catches and a TD in the freak show that was EJ coming back against the Jags in London. It's not reality to suggest Bob has been anything that numbers can defend. He's halfway through his 3rd season and yet he's never been a catches guy, or a yards guy, or a touchdown guy. Someone said he's a blocking guy? Ok...IDK maybe I've seen him throw some good blocks. I guess his defense is that he's played with EJ and now is in Roman's system which isn't WR2 friendly (point guy made above)? I mean...he just isn't showing me anything this year. I have to turn on Woods at some point and it's shaping up to be next offseason the way things are going. I would like to be swayed but his one big day on a crazy London game v. the jags while EJ was out their flailing in desperation to overcome bouts of insanity isn't going to do it on its own.
  13. To me it looks like we can easily go BPA anywhere and be fine. At least in the first 3 rounds. Just hit on them, please.
  14. That's me too though, I used to love Bob Woods. Really love him. Then the idea of him being some reliable and awesome young counterpart to Sammy faded and now I ... well I don't know what to think anymore. I was just sitting here thinking about the passing game and had the feeling like I won't be excited about the WRs next year unless it has a new #2 that is not on the roster right now.
  15. But what does that even mean? Is he really even a #2 guy? He seems to be like...a half-notch above Easley (which makes him depth and someone who should learn special teams). Is he supposed to be in the slot and now he's just failing outside? I mean...I guess I don't really know what a #2 guy is but he seems like a guy who is a non-factor and that doesn't sound like a #2 to me.
  16. I have to say this is a fairly obvious point that reveals Rex hated Geno as a player and possibly as a teammate as well.
  17. I just don't see him much and the one end-around he got last week looked terrible (he looked slow--no explosion and couldn't have looked less dangerous). I don't have the coaching tape...and I have seen a FEW replays of him open (he usually throws a tantrum when he doesn't get the ball). I really don't know what to think about Woods' value as a player. It's hard to say. I'm sure if he were with an all-time great QB he would be better...I'm also sure that most WRs are not and that isn't the way you should measure them. Gentlemen, help me understand how I am supposed to feel about Robert Woods. I really don't know...but I would have a soft-lean right now to take another WR fairly high in the draft.
  18. He made some game changing plays today. Great day for Hughes. Lets see it more often. And lets get Mario involved maybe too?
  19. Lets just go out there and load the box and blitz Fitz and if he beats us deep consistently we lose so be it. We all know Fitz...we know you can suffocate him. We'll win if we don't over think this or fear the deep ball that won't hit very often.
  20. Ben Carson is irrelevant. The polls and this thread just haven't caught up with that yet for some reason....move along folks.
  21. He's got to talk about his specific idea for his proposed flat tax, it's passage, and it's actual effect/workability more intelligently IMO. He's supposed to be the smartest man in the room, lets here about taxes in a way that is fleshed out.
  22. At this point is it not fair to say, regardless of your views, that damage to American credibility outweighs any alleged flaws with the deal? To let this fall apart at the ratification stage, as a nation, would be fairly embarrassing. The purported leaders of the free world, economic powerhouse, business and currency standard of the world....can't negotiate a trade deal credibly.
