  1. As someone who does not live in Western New York, I find it shocking that it take public hearings and government approval to have a Chik-Fil-A open up.
  2. C'mon it's never truly more of the same. The "same" for him is better than the average for the length of the drought. The odds of improving are greater with him, and the evidence for a total flame out is not yet there for a truly undisputed firing. He should get another year. The goal, at this point, is clearly to make the playoffs...it's not to have the perfect team that looks/plays/acts like we all want. Rex is the best answer to making a real push to hit our goal next year.
  3. Poll taken with 2 weeks left in the season. We are 7-7. We are not mathmatically eliminated from the playoffs, but we are practically eliminated in most people's minds. We have, by all accounts, had a disappointing season and defense is widely seen as more to blame for that than offense (even if expectations are the deciding factor in that analysis). However, I say **** it! You've got to let him take 1 more crack at it IMO. We're on pace for another 8 or 9 win season (which is significantly better than we are used to), most players seem to like him, and we've seen signs of how this could work well (even if we can't put it all together consistently against good teams). I vote to keep him. I'm not in love with it, and I'm not inclined to defend it aggressively in an internet argument, but I honestly think Rex next year is a better Bill's season than the kind of coach we are likely to get. Also, I kind of like Rex. One more year. Lets see what happens.
  4. I agree that it looked great, but other than that what made you enjoy it? I'm genuinely curious b/c to me this was almost beyond the pale. They somehow made a Star Wars movie, which had more action than any other Star Wars movie, that was more boring than I could have ever imagined a Star Wars movie being.
  5. Knowing St. Doug he's been whispering in Khan's ear for over a year.
  6. Does this make Doug Marrone a HC next week?
  7. I saw Rogue One last night. I love Star Wars, but Rogue One is terrible. If you haven't seen it yet, don't get your hopes up.
  8. The media is out of control...there is no point to what they are doing. Nobody cares, these are not questions people want "journalists" to ask--at least not more than once. They're just glorified paparazzi at this point.
  9. per my sauce nothing has happened yet
  10. We're past that. Forget about that.
  11. What did I see? An ending.
  12. I wouldn't break bank to keep him. Keep him if we can, he's a good player and I've always said that...but lets not forget. Never forget.
  13. http://www.sbnation.com/2016/12/7/13870600/nfl-defensive-holding-penalties-explanation Didn't see it posted (sorry if I missed it). Good story, well organized w/ video.
  14. Good review, the Cons section was spot on. Can't believe he didn't give Tyrod an elite mobility rating though...he's probably the #2 most mobile QB of all time.
  15. It's not about whether Lorax was right, it's more about whether you will keep your cool and have the team/Rex's back when his policy is to always have yours.
  16. 1. Shaq is the future and a big team investment. Also of a physical freak who is picking things up quickly. Must get him as many snaps as possible. 2. I believe LorAx accused the team (generally) of being mentally weak after last week, causing Rex to get a lot of questions about it immediately in the post-game. That probably pissed him off.
  17. So, Watkins deal backfired b/c of injuries. A big deal and considered an error, but only b/c of what he gave up to take him. It's a negative, but you have admit he was trying and he wasn't wrong about the talent. Dareus is going to be our best player over the next 5 years IMO. It's impossible know that he won't have more problems, but he isn't killing people. When he is in the game it is obvious. Clay...who knows. It's entirely possible that Clay would be awesome with a more experienced passer. He blocks. He never gets any mid-range seam routes with a chance for YAC...just 5-10 yard outs and an occasional deep ball (which are usually between the hashes). QBs don't grow on trees. Dak was a stroke of luck and is playing in the most ideal situation imaginable, and we're not the only team regretting Carr.
  18. Whaley hasn't been perfect, but he has made must more talented and it is noticeable. He's been aggressive, he's taken risks, and, on balance, he's been successful. Yea, QB is the bulls eye. He hasn't hit it yet, neither has any other GM we've had in a long time. There's also no reason to believe he can't hit one eventually. Say what you will, he's hit other draft picks (yea, he's missed some too). Many of them (as well as many of his FAs) were clever picks looking back. Tyrod himself (even though he isn't looking to work out completely right now) won the job and is better than EJ and Cassel but came in as the presumptive 3rd (in a way, bringing Tyrod in was good even if he can't recover and we cut him).
  19. Marrone was hired January 6, 2013. Whaley assumed control in mid May of 2013 (~4 months later). Who knows what really happened, but Whaley probably wasn't in a position to go aggressive contrarian at that time. Nor was he in that position when Rex was hired.
  20. Alright I updated the graph. BTW, interestingly, the overall "buffalo bills seasons" Wikipedia page has it wrong for 2014 (says we were 9-7 which is not true): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Buffalo_Bills_seasons
  21. Yeah I messed that up, even have an extra dot in there somewhere. Thanks and, yes, Whaley did have a 6 win season to start. The graph is mostly correct though just move everything up a bit and know '13 was 6. (typical Bills fan graph)
  22. Whaley joined the team in February of 2010 (so the '10 season on the graph). His first offseason in control was the 2013 (so full GM credit starting in '13 on the graph). Very simple point to visualize: http://www.plotvar.com/line.php?title=Bills+wins+since+2005&yaxis=Year&xvalues=05%2C+06%2C+07%2C+08%2C%2C+09%2C+10%2C+11%2C+12%2C+13%2C+14%2C+15%2C+16&serie1=Bills+Wins&values_serie1=5%2C+7%2C+7%2C+7%2C+6%2C+4%2C+6%2C+6%2C+6%2C+9%2C+8%2C+9 IDK, I'm as pissed as anyone else we still are not in the playoffs and blew that 24-9 road game against the Raiders...but I never understand the Whaley hate. We have to acknowledge that being the Bills is part of it...and he's doing better than we've been doing without him. It is highly likely we will win 8 or 9 games this year...which will keep the trend positive overall (and give Whaley only 1 losing season (6 wins in his first year) out of 4...while we had only losing seasons since at least '05).
  23. Cptn Kirk is overrated. I would still sign him though...even know whoever gives him 25 million a year will destroy their team. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using Tapatalk
  24. It wouldn't be the end of the world to get Fitz as a back-up and be willing to play the hot hand. I know nobody wants to pull a QB or switch them out frequently, but a Fitz/Tyrod combo would have you covered for most situation (provided, again, that you are willing to stream them and/or use a 2 QB system).
  25. Alright, dump Tyrod, make a huge run at Romo, go super hard at WRs (get 2 from the draft/FA). Then use everything else on secondary and OL depth. If you can't get Romo, **** it get Cutler. If you can't get either, you keep Tyrod.
