  1. The third down conversation number is shocking to me.
  2. An awesome race horse would be called a stud because it is clearly awesome and it's kids would likely be. So they would say "that's a stud" as if to say "that will be a hell of a stud when this is over, expensive to breed to is." All kinds of horse stuff going on. Thoroughbred is another example.
  3. I've been trying to call him "The Great White Shark"...idk why but it seems to fit to me. Or just "Great White" for short.
  4. I just love seeing pressers like that. The more the better. Coaches, players, whatever.
  5. Does anyone feel like he got a lot stronger and then by exposure to the 3-4 responsibilities sort of "broadened" his skill set and gave him a new dominating mind set? Basically turned him into a beast and now in the hyrbid he is unstoppable? Did the 3-4 help him develop?
  6. I think looking like we are on the way and actually playing good is a must. Nobody wants to go somewhere that's moving backwards w/ no hope of playoffs. I also think bringing in someone like Marvin Lewis as a DC could attract some D-players. The players like Chan. That's are selling points. Close nit team, c'mon in and put us over the hump b/c we just need a bit more, and we have coaches you will respect and like and feel like they will help you succeed. Money and geography will never be strengths.
  7. I think you go good to great when you attain the aforementioned consistency. With the caveat that you must be good in playoffs. If you win a SB, you are in most cases a great QB. Not all, but in most.
  8. Yeah I mean consistency is sort of the overall point to any great QBing. Not sure it's really even an independent factor to be weighed it's sort of something that applies to all the other factors. Just generally being able to maintain the high level of play, with all that goes into performing that way...is an immense task. As soon as things click the rest of the league is paid to figure out how to unclick it....you have to stay one step ahead of the game. All they ever talk about is work ethic, hitting the film room, rigorous attention to footwork and form...all about maintaining that high level of play.
  9. Hey read this article: http://www.buffalosportsdaily.com/kyle-williams-proves/ That dude that got dominated had this to say:
  10. Is there game by game analysis of players there? IF so someone must post a few.
  11. Yeah but he said he has now become the one we were looking for too. At the same time.
  12. I mean to me it breaks down into general categories: Physical tools (arm, legs, size) Mind (pre and post snap...absence of mistake) Leadership (self explanatory) Magic (Flutie or Eli or whatever...basically luck..but improvisation and FAvreisms play a role too) Through my scale I'd give Fitz passing makrs for tools, high marks for mind and leadership, and I suppose failing marks for magic (not always his fault..Stevie...). I suppose Trent would be passing in physical, failing in mind and leadership and magic. JP high marks in physical tools and fails everything else, does not even receive marks in mind. Fitz is pretty good, compared to what we've had he's amazing.
  13. lol EDIT: BTW he's been fined 17% (125K) of his 755K salary this year...although he got 10M bonus last year and a 2.8M bonus this year.
  14. Man he called him the qb we've been waiting for, for so many years. I wonder if this reflects the feeling of those involved in the organization?
  15. I don't watch all the STeelers games but I know who he is and the controversy around him, watch all the Bills games...and see probably the closest to a dirty hit on Fitz all year when we play him. So...
  16. The modern nfl fan is smart. They play fantasy and watch highlights of all the games. Our crazy games have made a little noise. Really Lee Evans, Stevie Johnson, Fitz, and even Fred Jackson are known to the average "good" nfl fan (at least the young ones...fantasy players)...and all college football fans still know who Spiller is. We have a team people know about on offense. Give us a matchup with another team that can carry some national appeal weight and schedule it early in the year there's no reason we can't get a Monday night game. We play nothing but good games lately.
  17. Obviously we had every single game at 1pm on Sunday this year. Have we created enough excitement and buzz with our crazy play as of late to get a few games next year? While we are losing we play exciting games and you have to assume we are at least slowly walking in the right direction. If nothing else we seem to make sports talk each week now, haha. We have a few offensive names now and some young talent. As of late we seem to back down to nobody in terms of play, although yes we constantly lose. Hell, Cornheiser said today on PTI we've become his favorite team to watch. 2nd weak in a row S. Johnson got Chris CArters "c'mon man" in the pregame before Monday night. So, what do you think. How many games will we get next year on Sunday/Monday night?
  18. When he IS healthy he's always been like that EXCEPT for the last few games. I used to watch him like a hawk and B word to everyone about him when it wasn't popular to do so, but have noticed improvement. I've been focusing on D-line recently did not notice much of it last game but know exactly what you are referring to.
  19. Dan Marino. Worst of the worst.
  20. We give up career games or at least season highs to roughly half of the opposing RBs we face so yea he could dominate. God knows Kelsay can't tackle a 40 year old Favre so they may air it out a bit.
  21. I would volunteer also. I'm here daily so why not.
  22. Auburn isn't losing this. No way no how.
  23. I listened to every one of these and he also was on Scott Van Pelt show (do not have link). I love Stevie. He's a true Bill. The Irvin interview was good. I like how he put it w/ Gailey from the players perspective...he felt nobody wanted them as coaches turned down the job and Gailey took it so they go out and play for him.
  24. I can't believe the love for this celebration.
  25. He is. Just wait until we get closer to the draft. I've watched him a lot. The words of Urban Meyer sum it up just about right: "That's the best I've seen at WR." Dude is dominant. He's been hurt and he has a freshman QB this year. He still beasts. He's beasted for years. I still would rather take front 7. I'd use the entire draft on front 7. Seriously.
