  1. I think that people are losing sight of the fact that the NFL is about revenue/entertainment. RI is good for the league. He has paid his debt, and he is a Bill now. It's as simple as that for me.
  2. I don't have a problem with it. You have to protect yourself at all times.
  3. I think the Broncos made out the best.
  4. I am so happy that he no longer plays for the Bills.
  5. Roman Maroni has just infiltrated the Jaguars organization. His takeover has already included the hiring of his chief Hatchet man. He has a $4 million severance package. He and his ego took control and quit, rather than wait to get fired, which likely was going to be his fate anyhow. His ego to me is at a Parcells level. Obviously he is no Parcells, but I doubt Marrone sees it that way. Just an observation. Marrone/Hacket are the antithesis of Parcells/Bellyache, but the arrogance remains the same. It certainly is entertainment. Cleo told me that Marrone will be the GM/HC of the Jags in about 21 months. She also said sell all of your precious metals. By sugar.
  6. Just as FA dramatically altered the NFL, and continues to do so today, college coaching opportunities have evolved into a bit of a financial competitor to the NFL. Media opportunities are also a slowly evolving magnet for former coaches. The family and community messaging is a joke to begin with. It's all about the money. Marrone may represent the beginning of coaches making more selfish decisions eventually based on finance, much the way FA for the players has created acceptable "selfishness" from the perspective of fans. Images of Talley now has cemented my belief that these players should consider finance above all else. Now that Marrone has broken the ice of quitting as HC of a universally historically dysfunctional franchise, the sub-consciouses of football coaches everywhere, and their respective agents, will be curious to see how things play out for Marrone, and of course how it may affect them. The GM vs. HC battles will escalate with so much money on the line and the equivalent inflation of respective egos. These stories make for better ratings, and the money just keeps feeding the monster. Human nature says some people will pay money to watch a competitor experience success. It also says that some people will pay money to see that same person or team fail miserably, if not worse. Some people enjoy players getting crippled before their eyes if they felt slighted in some way by that player, regardless of how vicarious or abstract that relationship may be. That's family. That's community. I am not a Marrone fan, but he wasn't wrong about everything. I think he knows exactly how far family and community actually goes in todays NFL.
  7. ...speaking words of wisdom...let it beeeeeeeeEEEEEEEEEE!
  8. The Bills need to focus on player retention on defense, and player enhancement on offense. Last years running games needs to never be that awful again. A solid running game this past year would have been HUGE. I took for granted that they would run it fairly well, and often. Wow was I wrong.
  9. You are taking the long and hard road just to say that s*** happens. I fail to see how that helps the Bills reach the Pats level.
  10. Interesting. The thread title asks how the Bills get to the Pats level, and you bring up 2 players that could never bring 4 Super Bowl victories, 2 additional appearances in the Super Bowl, a ton of victories year in and year out over the course of 15 years in any organization, at any time. When you said the "patriots level", did you mean some other kind of level? Because by your logic, you are referring to the Bucaneers'level. The Ravens level. A million miles from threatening to win a Super Bowl title every season. Clearly not close to the Patriots "level".
  11. The real problem for the Seahawks is that the coaches had 2 weeks to address short yardage situations and substitution options with time clock management being your prime focus. They were unprepared for 2nd and 1 with 20 plus seconds and a timeout. They had the Pats D stretched out in the same man coverage look, with that same MLB spying in the middle, playing 6 yards off the line of scrimmage, reading pass first. As another poster mentioned, the sneak would of likely been at least a positive gain. Call a time out. They could run a pass play next, throw it away and stop the clock if they have to. They still would have time to run another play, and since it is fourth down, it could still be run or pass. Coaches always say that it is about putting their players in the best position to succeed. Bevell set their no.5 WR up as either the hero or the goat on that one. They were out coached, partially by themselves by neglecting "situational" football. Perhaps they didn't anticipate the game coming down to those situations with time being a critical component. I hope Ryan was paying attention.
  12. If a Super Bowl victory is the expectation, then you are in denial.
  13. Deserve has absolutely nothing to do with anything.
  14. It's hard to judge any head coach when your QB is made of Pyrite. Give Rex a real QB, and I think he would do really well. The problem is that they don't grow on trees, and the really great ones require a great eye to find them before anyone else, and THEN they go to college.
  15. He was great in Ghostbusters. I just wasn't fond of him stepping on that church though. JMO.
  16. This is some pretty cool stuff.
  17. Incredible stewardship by Mr. Ed. So far, the Broncos are winning the off-season.
  18. For a man with Pegula's money, the purchase of knowledge, experience, and insight, if invested wisely, can be pure gold and facilitate him upping his own game even faster as an owner who has clearly chosen to be active in his teams' management.
