  1. The problem with Spikes is that he is a base defense guy at this point. Calling him a 2 down LBer is not accurate. If the offense comes out with anyone in the slot, regardless of down, Spikes goes to the sideline. With teams spending more time in the nickel than their base, Spikes is relegated to role playing no matter what team he'll play for. Even in the base D, he struggles in coverage.
  2. Rivers and Johnson are a great pairing. Probably worth at least 1100 yards. Rivers will definitely find Johnson early and often.
  3. Brady throwing to Hogan would be more interesting than SJ.
  4. That sounds way better than the last 15 Januaries. You are pretty optimistic. Count me in on a playoff win!
  5. The more accurate QB will win. My money is on White Castle. However, if the Bills are running it effectively, that could put EJ in the driver's seat due to his mobility and the increased likelihood of man coverage outside with a single high safety. In those situations I would think that EJ would make some big plays. Perhaps enough to jump start his confidence. Castle will be better at the dink and dunk if the running game fails to show up. A little better than Orton I would imagine. The O-line still stinks.
  6. Miami is jumping through hoops for this Clay situation. At this point, I wouldn't mind it playing out where Miami pays top dollar to ultimately keep Clay. Clay is a good player, but if the alternative is that Doug Whaley has even more cash to play with after said fact, then I say great. I think he'll spend it wisely.
  7. Your style of trolling is a little unorthodox...but effective.
  8. Chip Kelly is living on the edge.
  9. Balsa Wood will get owned at G.
  10. Exactly! Force defenders into the box, and if the run gets going, BANG, hit 'em deep and attack the seams off of PA. The best part about power running is the wear on the opponents D-line and LBers if they can't get off the field. Quicksand baby!
  11. False. Watch any of the games and focus on the O-line. Staley had a down year and appeared unmotivated at times. The entire unit was a mess last year.
  12. The quality of the acquisitions is undeniable, and Spring is almost here.
  13. That's a lot of wind from someone who lacks a time machine.
  14. He broke his ankle in the NFC Championship game. Was he 100%? How did the line play around him? The entire unit struggle last year and Staley was a liability as well.
  15. The Bills have enough talent on defense to not overpay anyone except perhaps Dareus. Dareus is defensive bedrock. Hughes is perhaps the 4th to 6th best player out of 11 starters. Over 9 million a year can be spent elsewhere and the defense could still improve. FA and the draft will yield some capable pass rushers to play opposite Mario that may not rush as well as Hughes, but may play the run better or drop into zones better. The addition of a stout 2-gapper will take pressure off of Hughes position as it is. Who will be the next Branch?
  16. That puts the Bills in a position to have what, over 20 million in cap space before additional cuts?
  17. Ultimately, I think health should be a consideration when it comes to evaluating Iupati's 2014 season. He wasn't the same player last year and perhaps the ankle was an issue. Perhaps the chaos on the O-line around him last season was also a contributing factor to poor pass blocking. It's hard to project what kind of player he'll be for the next 3 years after 2014.
