  1. Are you speaking from any real life experience or are you just trying to create a dysfunctional model of the current FO in the hopes of selling that paradigm to other posters to set up future threads? I don't see evidence that the Pegula's need our help when it comes to handling their business. So far so good.
  2. I don't get the concern over an O-line coach. The current O-line has problems that are not related to coaching, but physical ability. They are big, clumsy, and lack power at the point of attack. It would be silly to think coaching alone will change this reality.
  3. They need to roll out the hot oil wrestling at half-time too. Right on the 50.
  4. Don't underestimate the power of Mr. Ed's previous concussions.
  5. Interesting responses. Ryan and Pettine both have run many exotic pressures and coverages out of this alignment with success over the years. I must be on the futbol site.
  6. Would anyone like to weigh in on the unlimited possibilities the current roster allows for the 1-5-5 alignment? I would think the Bills have the most ideal combination of LBr's in the league to run this on some passing downs with Marcel at the zero or the shade.
  7. First they found Rambo, now they hired Colonel Troutman. I don't see a problem. I see Hollywood. This defense will be nasty next year. Bradham blitzing sounds like Action Jackson.
  8. Ever since Giselle stopped putting out a few years ago, Brady has become a different player. Yelling at his team mates, taunting other players, trying to make real tackles when he throws picks, head butting meatheads like Gronk on purpose. Giselle is the real problem here.
  9. The defense is a 4-3 Under base. Which means very little actually.
  10. Just as the "wide 9 defense" was feared, so too shall the "3-4" be feared...by fans. I haven't missed too many Jet games over the decades. Rex will employ a very simple defense when he has the horses to run it when talking first and second downs. His front seven in his first year with Jets was as young and talented of a unit as they were going to get. Bart Scott started his decline after that season, and the cog that made it all work was Jenkins. In that first season however, Rex played a lot of true 3-4 with his NT directly over the center, and simpler coverages behind them as they were so great at man coverage outside. With the Bills roster as it currently exists, I don't see Rex believing that he has to get particularly cute scheme wise. He runs 5 man fronts all the way down to 1 man fronts. The key to appreciating Rex's defensive work is that you shouldn't go into it thinking you are smarter than he is anticipating that you will see something he doesn't understand. Just sit back and really pay attention to what happens between the line of scrimmage and the first down marker. It's very educational and just a lot of fun to watch. Enjoy the ride and don't start complaining yet.
  11. Terry reminds me of Lambchop.
  12. I'd like to see a shotgun package where Manning lines up next to the QB instead of a RB in the backfield. When EJ snaps it, Manning can make the reads for him while calling protections and simply pointing out who is open. I think it might work.
  13. That puts Spiller's contract at 4 years, 8 million dollars, and 2 million guaranteed.
  14. Lee Smith belongs on the Texans.
  15. The O-line needs more talent.
  16. I was hoping that Chan would go to a team I could root for. Oh well.
  17. What is good for EJ may not be good for the team.
  18. Marrone would make a great water boy. Visor meets squirt bottle.
  19. Garbage player. Poor leverage in run blocking, 3rd down penalties, non-existent receiving threat. His negative plays outweigh his marginally positive plays. The definition of liability.
  20. Arbitrary rankings and %s speak very little to what the strengths and weaknesses of those defenses were. Sad to say, but unless you go back and watch the games, what are you really going to figure out by staring at some numbers? Rex has his limitations. As long as Whaley continues to build the roster, the defense should be excellent. Rex's D was at it's best when they had Jenkins playing the nose. Dareus is a player 2 years stronger and wiser in the league since Pettine. He will likely emerge this year as the undisputed best DT in the game today.
  21. Chan Gailey is just another coach in my opinion. He is as good or as bad as his players perform. Player talent eclipses coaching every time. The Bills have had a soft O-line fore over a decade. That isn't coaching, that is FO vomit.
  22. Schwart's familiarity with the NFC North and their lack of familiarity with the Bills players made a big difference this year. Whether or not he stays is of little consequence, and it is likely that this defense will improve regardless. Without Dareus in the lineup, for whatever reason, I feel like Ran would be better equipped to scheme around it with a little more success. That being said, the defense needs Dareus big time. He is the tip of the Bills defensive spear.
