Obviously an elite trade. Offloads a terrible contract from the previous regime, gets mid-second round value for a player with serious injury history who plays an extremely physically demanding position. And, most notably, a replacement is already in place that played the second half of his rookie year at a pro bowl level. How many thumbs do we have? Six? Fine, six thumbs up.

Who can throw in the snow and bitter cold?

Concur on weather being an absolute non-factor. Good quarterbacks perform better than their peers in any weather condition. Let's get one of them. -
Bradford is a fine QB if the Bills are looking to bridge. If you truly think they are going to trade up to the top 5 to take a quarterback, you'd better believe that quarterback is going to start EXTREMELY sooner rather than later. There just isn't the concept of "developing" a quarterback anymore. You either have it or you don't, and playing the game is the best way to get better at it.

While we are all rejoicing here.........

Oh man the hottest hot take in this thread is that Tyrod takes the Browns from 0-16 to 8-8. -
I can't believe we didn't have to give them a 4th rounder or better to unload what may be the worst contract in the NFL. Thank the lord that the Jaguars are one of the worst run teams in professional sports.

And still the broadcast attempts to paint Patricia as a genius as the slob's defense makes Alex Smith look like Joe Montana. Gilmore, Hogan and Gilislee all looked bad. Apperently that plan to remake their team in the image of the Bills is going as expected.

Ragland traded to KC for 4th round 2019 pick
akm0404 replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Caught a bad break that the guy destroyed his knee after we took him. If he had blown his knee out beforehand, he wouldn't have been a 4th round pick in that year's draft. Damaged goods, poor fit, team finally looking to BUILD instead of playing for an outside shot at losing an away wild card game. Fine trade. As others have noted, nothing truly matters until the Bills deploy their resources to secure a top 10 caliber quarterback. Otherwise, you're battling for the wild card chump round and spinning your wheels in the middle of the pack. -

The importance of losing all of our games over the next two seasons cannot be overstated. -

So that was a sweet trade up for the Bills. Reggie Ragland cost them a second round pick, and 2 fourth round picks. Parlayed that into 0 games played and 1 fourth round pick in 2019. Maybe it's a fine trade for what he is worth (which appears to be about nothing), but it certainly is quite the indictment on that 2016 selection. -
I am thankful that this echo chamber of depressive dumdums doesn't run this team. The Bills surely stink, but good lord, listen you to all. LOL.

Sammy will be a free agent. If healthy get him back.
akm0404 replied to Cherrybone's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bold predictions: Sammy Watkins will listen to his agent/management and become a free agent after this season. He will sign with a playoff-competitive team with an established quarterback. That team will not be the Buffalo Bills, and we shall be happy we got anything at all for him. -
Trading Watkins makes little sense to Wilbon and Kornheiser

That last decade and a half with ownership eh? Weird how in every other sport non-contending/rebuilding teams trade their players under expiring contracts as rentals to acquire other assets, but Because Buffalo, yada yada 4 Super Bowl losses yada Ralph is cheap. -

And here we go again comparing Sammy Watkins to Julio Jones. The bias and delusion here is oh so strong. -

And now we're getting people saying that we should be planning on using the franchise tag on this guy. Ya'll realize that the franchise tag is going to cost something in the neighborhood of 16 or 17 million dollars next year, right? Paying a guy who has never had a year in the top 10 of any meaningful statistical category on a run-first offense $17m. Yeah, that's how a savvy front office really should operate. Fire these guys ASAP. -

I think you fail to understand that, with NFL free agents, there is no such thing as the concept of "letting them leave". They are free to choose to accept a contract from any of the 32 NFL teams at their complete discretion. -

Since it was mentioned, these are some of the reasons why I believe that he wouldn't come back: -
Ok, so you don't think he'll get targeted 12 times per game. I suppose that is my mistake for assuming that by saying that he'd get 12 targets per game in LA, that you thought he'd actually get 12 targets per game. I actually think that 7 targets per game expanded out to 112 is still a winning bet for the under, as the Rams #1 receiver last year had only 111 targets, and Sammy Watkins does not project to play an entire 16 game season. But, on that I am not willing to bet $5000.

Well, to me, the most cited reasons why a free agent receiver chooses a particular franchise to sign with include: Largest $ offered Best/most established QB Play for a perennial playoff/Super Bowl contender Offensive scheme (run vs. pass ratio) Size of advertising market for endorsement offers Climate/amenities Proximity to home town State income tax rate How do you project Buffalo would have stacked up against the other 31 franchises?
