  1. To me the key to which QB falls to us lies with Denver at #5. I'm not convinced NYG is going QB. They could get back into post season with Barkley, Eli and a couple of O-linemen. They're waiting for a Hail Mary of picks from a desperate team wanting to move up. I think Terry and Kim have handed the keys to Beane and will allow him to deal picks as he sees fit. I think we took AJ as insurance against a super desperate move. If we avoid QB completely (not saying it will happen) we still have a young prospect in AJ and the fanbase can be appeased with that. The QB conundrum is you can win with a mediocre roster and great QB but if you don't have a great QB you need a near perfect roster to compensate. Perspective means a lot.You can look at our team and say we nearly beat a very good Jaguars team that could have been AFC champ with sub par QB play. By that definition we are only a QB away from glory. I'm OK with Jackson at 12 or Rudolph at our latter 1st round pick. We are thin at many spots. I think Jackson could be very special in the way Cam Newton and Deshaun Watson are special. Rudolph looks like a very well schooled if unspectacular pocket QB along the lines of Mark Brunell. His hilight really was impressive.
  2. I'm quite comfortable staying at 12 to select Jackson. He shows as much promise as the other 1st round prospects and we need to keep our other picks for an aging roster
  3. looks like everything about this offseason revolves around Cincy
  4. nice highlight reel from 2015
  5. another smart signing with very little downside
  6. solid signing in a very good offseason
  7. good trade that leaves a gaping hole. Who to protect the "franchise" QB surely coming our way?
  8. I think Lamar Jackson is the surest thing in this QB class
  9. I'm not convinced Philly will let Foles go for much under their asking price. Such is the amount of stupid QB money out there. I don't see our front office dealing picks away for the likes of him or Case Keenum either. I think we'll go cheap at vet QB a la Brian Hoyer or Trevor Siemian and package our picks to get into the top 5.
  10. a true character guy with some unique skills. Wishing him the very best
  11. I'm happy that he is taking stock of his mental health issues. I hope he gets another chance
  12. after the SB win I'd put Foles on par with Alex Smith in terms of market value
  13. I would be quite pleased to have Jackson as our franchise QB
  14. Smith is now 3rd in QB compensation after Stafford and Luck. I don't think Cousins will go to the highest bidder. He'll go where he thinks he can win and get a long term deal.
  15. Alex Smith is a kitty in the Red Zone and has gone whole seasons without throwing a TD to a WR
  16. we're a playoff team with a brilliant young coach
  17. I can't see us breaking the bank but we are a better destination than all but Minny or Jax
  18. our DBs had a good year
  19. "If you're going to trade my ass, send me to a winner!"
  20. The QB question for me is "What's the best we can do with the options in front of us that won't hurt the team long term". We know that the best veteran franchise QBs aren't available to us. We know that this regime doesn't like paying guys more than they're worth just to keep them in Buffalo . We know this regime is building culture and doesn't like questionable attitudes or lax commitments. We know that this regime is stockpiling draft picks and is not afraid to trade pricey veterans to do so. I don't see us splurging for a veteran QB and certainly not one that would cost us draft picks. I don't see us mortgaging the farm to get into the top 5. We are an old team with many holes that need filling immediately. I see us staying put for one of Mason Rudolph, Lamar Jackson or Josh Allen and signing a stable if unspectacular veteran QB (Alex Smith, Case Keenum, Nick Foles, Teddy Bridgewater, Bryan (please God, no) Hoyer, AJ McCarron). I'd like to see us make a play for Davis Webb on NYG.
  21. I like the 2 DLs in the first round. Politically, this regime will have to make a splash at QB when in the draft or in the veteran market
  22. I would not be upset if we keep TT although it's not what I expect. I don't want any of the Vikings QBs. Case Keenum was a nice story but I don't think he's a renaissance man a la Rich Gannon. Between Cousins, Smith and McCarron we will have options on the veteran market. If we stay where we are in the first round we will get a shot at at least one of Jackson, Rudolph or Allen. I'm keeping an eye on what the Giants do with Davis Webb http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/12208/davis-webb
  23. http://billswire.usatoday.com/2018/01/28/full-buffalo-bills-7-round-nfl-mock-draft-1/ as much as I want a saviour QB we are an old team and need to score on most of our picks. I don't want us mortgaging our future. I like the enclosed draft even if it doesn't include a franchise QB. I think a veteran like Smith or Cousins would be enough of an improvement for a deep playoff run
  24. Thanks to the imbecile Ryan Grigson the Colts have the worst roster in football and a wounded franchise QB. They need to trade down and if the Bills want one of the top QBs we'd best start the conversation.
