If you think Rosen is a bust, move on.
If you think Murray will be a superstar, draft him.
If you think Rosen and Murray are equal, build around Rosen.
If you think Kliff can't work with Rosen, you hired the wrong coach.
Not the choices I was hoping for but this could happen if QBs are not popular.
Between Wilkens and Hockenson. Went with the D as he was the higher rated in my mind but can not argue against TJ.
Options considered:
QB: Winston may not be the long-term solution but will give him a year under Arians.
DL: Williams is also good value but the Bucs still have McCoy.
LB: Need to replace Alexander with a true playmaker.
So, with those thoughts I see Williams slightly ahead of White but not enough to avoid the need pick.
With the 5th overall pick, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select Devin White, LB LSU. The Giants @BuffaloHokie13 are on the clock.
......and if there are no shows then those spots should open up for the next draft.
If the same folks are kept the spots should be adjusted an arbitrary number (+/- 5 ?) to mix it up. Same people in same spots will most likely yield the same results.
Thanks to @Virgil for coordinating this draft.
I see BPA as a philosophy, not a hard and fast rule. Players are usually grouped in tiers. Within the tiers you try to select for need. There is not a BPA list from 1 to 200 and a team just picks the next name.
Now in your scenario the player on the board was in tier 1 at a position of strength and all others were lower tiers, taken the BPA. The exception to that might be QB.
So this discussion is all about definition of BPA.
If White was the pick I would not be upset as he is very good. He will not make it to 9 as Bucs or Lions would take him.
If he was the pick, why would you change the entire D? I would like to understand from you versus just throwing out a question.
The best path is to make him an OLB. This means you do not have to change your playbook and turnover other players who do not fit a 4-3.
Again, why do you think this is a good idea?
