With only a handful of players impacted each year, will all the other players want to make a concession that will impact them? I think not. However the negotiations over MJ testing will be interesting. What will the players give up to smoke with no testing? I am guessing a lot.

In reviewing the picks in round 1, this seems like the biggest reach IMO.

Saved it for retirement. For my last NYS tax return, I lost some due to the cap on SALT. I made out better with larger standard deduction and elimination of AMT. Overall paid less with the same income.

The only downside is in case of injury it becomes guaranteed. I would opt to an extension but the timing will force a decision.

With that first 8 selections to me it would be between Hockenson or White with Hockenson being the pick. Now if Boss, Williams, Allen or Oliver slide, they are the pick.

Wilson is an excellent QB and should be paid with the elite. That said I wonder if teams will try to develop a second option that will be cheaper. The reality is that when you pay one position that much, you need to go cheaper at other positions. You need a great, well paid QB who can carry a team or a very good, cheap first contract QB you can build around. It will be a mistake to pay a top rated to an average QB.

1. Orioles - watched the Red Wings when they were the parent team. Some great players came thru Silver Stadium. 2. Blue Jays - Led a project in Toronto and my team got me hooked on them a few years ago when they made a run. Rented a large box for the team and had a great time at a game. Nice facility.

Is Oliver + 2 picks better than Williams? I think so.

Detroit Lions options for pick #8: QB: Stafford is a good, great at times QB. Not sure he will ever lead them to a SB. Will Matt P want his own QB? Considering Haskins as he is the best QB on the board. DL: Lions can always use more playmakers to pair with Flowers. Options here include Oliver, Wilkens or Sweat. LB: Local college playmaker Bush is available as the second rated LB with White off the board. Borderline high for him but good potential. CB: Slay is strong but they need help on the opposite side. Strong corners make for a better D but no CB is rated high enough for #8. OL: As with many teams, always a need. Williams, Taylor, Ford and Dillard are all still on the board. Interesting that no OL has been picked yet. Value and need intersect with the DL. With the 8th pick in the 2019 draft, the Lions select Montez Sweat, Edge, Mississippi State. The TB Bucs led by GM @ndirish1978 are on the clock. Will a Notre Dame player be the pick - most likely not.

I agree that Burns is not a top 10 pick. Round 1 yes, but after pick 20. It feels like I am a minority in this belief.

I had TB in mock drat #1 and selected White. He is off the board but Williams is available. Williams by many is considered the best player in the draft so I am interested in the decision and why.

If the Raiders had not picked him, I am sure he would not have gotten past TB.

I agree. 4 spots to Oliver with one sure pick in Williams. The other 3 may not go 3DT so possible. Giants may hold the key at #6 - pick a QB please. I expect on draft day while the sequence may not play out like this, it is possible.

The right pick for the Jets IMO. If Bosa had gone #2 then Allen for the Jets.

In real life I may not make the offer above but for this it is more of a thought exercise. Play out the experiment and see where it goes. The next draft is the time to be the real GM alas with no trades. OK - make your pick?.
