He is on the franchise tag which can not be changed at this time. Any team trading him would have to pay QB # next year with a third franchise tag or risk losing him. No guarantee he will sign with the team that trades for him.

This seems to be one of those things that sound good so it must be right. So the key enabler is a back-up who is not successful to mentor a young QB. Do they want to mentor? Are they capable of mentoring? Are they mentoring the same things as the coaches or are they sending a different message? I guess I see talent as the driver and if you have the right mentor he may have a multiplier effect. If Peterman had a great mentor and Allen a poor mentor, would you pick Peterman or Allen to be more successful?

I am in favor of upgrading the OL - a high football IQ is not required to see that they are deficient. I think this leads to the frustration to make a change, any change, in hopes that the result is different. This seems to be a fan reaction, not a coaching reaction. I suspect that Teller is not ready to start yet even if he had a strong college career. Many college stars are not drafted or perform poorly in the NFL - it is a different game.
