Looking for wager ideas...colleague is a Colts fan
WickedGame replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If the Colts win, his horse gets to leave horseshoes prints in your lawn. If the Bills win, a herd of Buffalo stampedes across his lawn. You DO have a herd of Buffalo, yes? -
The Colts and the Patriots* will have no idea what we're doing on offense. Which means, at long last, we'll have something in common with them.

My parents bought two bottles of champagne at a Tops supermarket before the first Super Bowl appearance. We watched the game at my grandparents' home on a tiny TV among cousins, aunts, uncles and other family. My parents were unable to pop the corks in celebration, so they saved the bottles and brought them back out for the next Super Bowl. For four years, my parents had those bottles of champagne ready for the victory dance, and for four years they went unopened. They held on to the bottles for years, hoping. In 2001, my grandfather passed away, and with him my dream of watching the Bills win the Super Bowl with him. A few years later, my dad's sister died unexpectedly, and another piece of the dream slipped away. After I moved to D.C., my parents passed the champagne on to me. I've carried those bottles with me through five homes, two cities, one divorce, two marriages, the birth of my son and another child on the way. I've said goodbye to friends, lost faith, and found it again. I've raised my son, who knows nothing about the unsealed wounds of a city, to become a Bills fan. Those bottles of champagne are still with me. One day soon I hope to pop those corks and drink a toast to hopes fulfilled at last, to heartaches healed, to ghosts vanquished and to dreams realized. The champagne will likely have turned to bitter vinegar by now, but I reckon it'll be the best tasting thing my lips have ever known

Bills to trade Kiko Alonso for LeSean McCoy

I hope the Eagles sign Spiller and go to the Super Bowl. I'll call it now: Bills 31, Eagles 13. -
Bills to trade Kiko Alonso for LeSean McCoy

I think this helps us sign a good OG free agent. What run-blocking OG in their right mind wouldn't want to play for Roman and block for LeSean McCoy? -
Bills to go in little-talked-about direction at QB?
WickedGame replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My turn to wager a guess: Kurt Warner. He's coming out of retirement just for us. -
You can rearrange the letters in Leroi to speller "Oiler." Terry Pegula made his fortunes from fracking. Clearly, Leroi is the owner. You can also rearrange the letters in Terry Pegula to spell Rupert Gayle, who was (apparently) an award-winning Canadian R&B songwriter. For the record: But Rupert Gayle's historical importance extends far beyond his songwriting and production duties: with business partner Ivan Berry, Gayle co-founded Beat Factory Productions in 1983. a management, label and license company that raised the Canadian urban music scene to unprecedented visibility and provided some of the first opportunities for such stars as Dream Warriors, Jully Black, Kardinal Offishall, Saukrates, Choclair, Michie Mee and L.A. Luv and Glenn Lewis to be heard nationally. Gayle was also instrumental, along with Berry, in getting Dream Warriors signed to Island Records in England and setting up the worldwide success of their hit "Wash Your Face (In My Sink)" Based on that information, I can only conclude our team's future is in good hands.

Please change the thread title. It's in poor taste and shows a lack of historical and cultural awareness. Just because word play is possible doesn't mean it's a good idea.

Bears may trade Cutler in offseason...
WickedGame replied to RCOHEN13's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So if you don't want a fill-in QB and you think all we can do is swing and miss on QBs in the draft, what's your next option? Maybe we could trade the Colts a bucket full of hindsight and regret, plus a 6th rounder, for Andrew Luck. -
Maybe we could try him at Offensive Coordinator...

Hammer, count us in for two cars, please. Thanks!

I flew in from Charlotte with my son...his first Bills game! He's so excited...when he heard we'd be watching at Ralph Wilson Stadium it was as if I said Christmas was coming two months early. Not sure where we'll be tailgating, as I'm at the mercy of wherever the rest of my family decides to park, but I'd love to meet some of you guys.

I expect the offense to improve significantly...
WickedGame replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'll add in that I think our running game will be better with the Bryce Brown/Boobie Dixon combo than it was with CJ/Fred. The guard play is still atrocious, but I think we'll come to appreciate downhill running. -
I was at the game today. Bears fans were devastated. Shocked and devastated. They were absolutely ripped apart by the fact they lost to the Bills...and at home no less. I loved it. Went to the Bills Backers bar after the game and celebrated with some of the locals. A great day.

What have YOU done today to beat Chicago?
WickedGame replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I flew my a$$ to Chicago to make sure these Bills do what we've asked them to do. Looks like 70 degrees and sunny tomorrow...perfect for game day! -
I like where this is headed. Jordan Palmer, Jordan Gay...up next, Jordan Cameron. We may actually get a tight end after all.

Do we have a Will linebacker? -
Earl Thomas is returning punts?
WickedGame replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He can have some of ours. I'm okay with that. -
Please, sweet Jesus, let the regular season get here soon.

Tavern on the Tracks (Charlotte NC)
WickedGame replied to NCDAWG's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wish I could join you guys. Mother-in-law's in town this weekend, so I'll be eating watercress sandwiches at an art gallery. I kid, I kid. #kinda -
If you rearrange the letters in "Kiko Alonso," it spells "I broke Tony Moeaki." For real.

Count me among the Charlotteans saying "Don't bother" to tailgating. The easiest way to explain it is Charlotte doesn't have a tailgating culture. Unlike at the Ralph, there are no giant parking lots adjacent to the stadium, but the issue isn't really lack of space. People here just don't embrace it the same way we do in Buffalo and in other true football cities. When I moved to Charlotte, I inquired about tailgating, too...I was told Charlotte's more of a "wine and cheese town" for football Sundays and, sadly, it's true. I like rpcolosi's list. I like Tavern on the Tracks for enthusiastic game-day atmosphere and a big crowd, Lebowski's for a more chill game-watching environment on Sundays. There's also Fort Mill Tavern just outside the city limits, but it's not ideal if you're headed to the game day.
