  1. Maybin is a cool dude...I just hope he learns to play...you guys hating on him is ridiculous...I realize he didn't do NOTHING last year but look confused, but him hanging out with Willis is a stupid bi*ch to have....
  2. And to address you, you shortsighted sheep who thinks ESPN actually knows wtf they are talking about... only the Saints and Colts won thier superbowls with poor run stopping ability...Steelers (two years) and Giants had top ten run defenses no passing attack and a good run game...and who did those three beat?...Steelers beat the Cards a pass first team...Giants beat Brady's ridiculous best passing team EVER in the history of football...steelers beat the seahawks...both were run first teams, and both had top five rushing defenses...Roethlisberger and Hasselbeck were ehhh QB's statistically that year as well Hasselbeck threw a whopping 18 tds and 2500 yards...quite frankly SAME STATS AS THE BILLS QBS COLLECTIVELY THIS SEASON...and Roethlisberger threw 17 and only 2400 yards...again WORSE THAN THE BILLS THIS SEASON...so...lets stop being ignorant little sheep doing what ESPN tells us...and LOOK FOR OURSELVES.... Yeah so come at me with the saints...all day fine...but they still had a top ten RO as well...and beat a Colts team that was also a pass first team... The only pass first team to beat a run first team in the past five years has been the Colts win over the Bears...and the stats show that even the Bears rellied more heavily on the pass with Rex Grossman...thier rushing offense was 14th and thier passing offense was fifteenth...so they were more balanced than a run first team...and thier defense was ranked in the top ten...so they were like half of the "run and stop the run" profile...thier best back averaged 75 yards a game...good but not great... So in conclusion...Run/Defense versus Pass in the past five years is 3-0...Pass versus Pass 1-1...Pass versus Run 0-3...balance versus pass 0-1...hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm is THAT relevant enough for you????
  3. And now that that rant is over with...let me also ad Don't think Nix and Gailey don't know this...they have spoken about the draft like this..."the depth at the big man positions is immense, probably the most depth ever"....and "the drop off between the very top two and the rest of QBs is immense...very thin"...hmmmm...could it possibly be and this is just speculation...that Gailey reviews what we have...tells RW look I think we can stick with what we got at QB and be okay and RW says well lets not go out and tell Bills fans because if we say we're sticking with what we have at QB NOBODY IS GOING TO BUY TICKETS...and Gailey says, okay, we'll be vague and we will set it up like we cant get another name in here and that we just have to go with what we got right now the wins start coming in...fans love TE again...everyone is happy
  4. First, the man boobs was an ironical statement...not to be taken literally...the point was we need linemen over a QB...do they have to be 340 pound OLinemen? no of course not 295 is fine...as long as they are good... Now as for franchise QB versus Linemen...let's do the numbers Hostetler....NO Rypien......nope...two good seasons doesn't qualify him IMO Aikman....most definitely a franchise HOF QB....had three probowlers on his line in 1993, then picked up a fourth in 1994 both SB years...then 5 in 1996...1997 lost two probowl linemen...sacks went from 19 in 1996 to 33 in 1997...in 1998 they had only one probowler left on the line and this was the first season Aikman began getting hurt with concussions...missed five games in 1998, two in 1999, and five more in 2000 and hung it up and retired... Steve Young...sure Franchise QB...one of the best of all times....1995 had five probowl linemen...had them five probowlers on the line already established when he took over for Joe...had them for pretty much his entire career until 1997...then EVERYONE was getting old he took almost 50 sacks that year and was about done anyway... Brett Favre....Franchise QB...only two probowl linemen...but anyone who's watched him knows getting beat up didn't phase him at all...he's one of two of those QB's that have that extra that NO other's have...the other is Ben Roethlisberger...they just take a beating and keep on ticking...but you're takling about two out of the last twenty years of SB's here... John Elway...Franchise QB...Three probowl linemen...did not have them early in his career...1995 brought in/developed probowl linemen...1994 sacks 46, injured missed two games...1995 sacked 22 times...1997/98 SB champs...1998/1999 SB champs...a brand new bum azz Griese/Burliene/anyone else...still got them to the AFC championship the next year...probowl linemen began to age and leave and retire...team became irrelevant Kurt Warner...Franchise QB...two probowl linemen...had that line when he stepped in lost them in 2001...sacks went from 20s to 38 and injuries started happening then missing games here and there...and re-emerged in AZ to lose the SB... Trent Dilfer...ummm no Brad Johnson....ummm could be considered, but I say no, and thier offense didn't even need to show up the Defense outscored oakland Tom Terrific...ummm hells yes...but...had two probowl linemen in 02, and 04, three in 05...when he first stepped in, just ask Bledsoe, they did not have a good OLine...did Brady play well? yes he sure did posting nearly 3000 yards and almost 20 td's...sacked 41 times...did not win...got the probowl beasts...three superbowls in four years...exit said linemen...Brady still posting numbers Bigger than ever before...not winning SB's...not running the ball well...not what they used to be...end of an era?...I don't know the linemen they got are developing nicely and I think they have at least three that could get into the probowl and squeeze out yet one more championship for the Pats...if they fix thier defense... Roethlisberger...already mentioned this exception with Favre Eli Manning...won the SB based on a top five rushing attack and didn't have to do much with a top ten defense either...made throws when he needed to and that's that...he is a franchise QB though, and he does have two probowlers on his line Peyton Manning...two probowlers during the SB... Brees...played in San Diego with one probowler...good numbers no wins...came to Saints had two probowlers, picked up another this past year...won it all...hasn't been sacked more than 20 times in any season he's been with the Saints...last season without probowler Brown...sacked 20 times even...Trent gets that per game in Buffalo... So, I mean, I believe the statistics show that Franchise QB's post numbers...when they have Linemen they win SB's...bummy QB's can win SB's with a good line and defense...soooooo....hmmmm...what can we deduce from these empirical facts????....THE BILLS NEED TO SOLIDIFY THE OLINE...before wasting a pick on a QB that will take another three years to develop when they may have the answer on the roster now if they can keep him upright long enough to evaluate his play
  5. Yeah I'm SURE the Bills won't address OT...the WORST position by FAR on our roster until the 7th round lmao
  6. As much as I think we NEED an OT...I believe you're right...GT roots...excellent player all around...great at what he does and a perfect fit for the new Defense...it would not be a horrible pick of course...the guy will be a phenom IMHO...I just think OT is the most important position to fill... They have talked about Nix wanting a pass rusher and Morgan is ALL of that...
  7. If Spiller falls to the third round, I take him...hehehehehe...or maybe the fourth...then yeah it's a lock...hehehehe RB's are a dime a dozen...I don't think ANY RB is worth a top ten pick...you have a bad azz line and they make any back look great...(see Denver Broncos)...I feel the same way about all the skill positions...OLine makes QB's RB's so much better...average ones look good....good ones look great...and great ones make OLinemen look good (see Barry Sanders)...sure Spiller has what it takes...but would you bank he's the next Barry Sanders?...Reggie Bush can't make lines look better...they have three probowlers and he's still not an every game back....so that's not good enough...
  8. QUINN EARLY heheheheeh YES...that guy was the best heheheh...I loved that dude... But, he ran over to "daddy" because "daddy" had a leash on everyone...his job was at stake... also, no I couldn't imagine Kelly doing that, but he came in with pro experience...I've SEEN Elway do that...and Brees, never seen him do it, but I'm sure he would...
  9. This guy just seen state of the Franchise again didn't he???...If they draft spiller i"m shooting myself in the face...it's a ridiculous move If the top three are gone, which top three are we talking, because I would rather have Campbell than Davis...and I grab him here if YOUR three top three are gone...then yes I like Morgan if four tackles are off the board...and if morgan and my four tackles are gone...how about an outside LB that can rush the passer...like a Sergio Kindle...much better than a Spiller pick...
  10. We averaged about 4 ypc and could've killed clock...okay that aside... we still had the least amount of possessions in the league because our Defense was 30th against the run...so lets not pretend having a top five defense would've made NO difference...please that's the dumbest thing I've heard on this thread yet...
  11. If anyone believes it "starts with the QB position" you don't know football...all your "beloved" QB's have good offensive lines and a good running defense...The Bills ran the least amount of plays last season.... So people call TE out...you go three and out every time that's what happens....BULL...we also had the LEAST AMOUNT OF POSSESSION period...that's a DEFENSIVE STAT...if your team can't stop the run, your stud of a QB sits and watched... So it starts with the QB if you're a news guy trying to bait a bunch of ridiculously uninformed about football, football fans...it's not a coincidence that GOOD coaches will tell you the game is won in the trenches...and fans will tell you different...unless you're DJ and then you believe the game is won by playing PERFECT zone coverage
  12. Yes... Round 1...OT Trent Williams/Bryan Bulaga Round 2...OT If you got Trent Williams in the first then you get Veldheer with this pick if he's there, if you got Bulaga in the first you take Ducasse here if available...if Cody is available you take him over another OT but if not...snatch another Tackle here Round 3...NT Joseph Round 4...QB Skelton, Pike, Snead whoever is available
  13. This is a big man draft and if we can do anything to get more of them with more picks DO IT...next year QB if we still need it...and we already have a Franchise RB...Jackson and Lynch is a more than capable split time beast RB...our running game wasn't terrible as far as YPC and you can't fault over all yardage on the backs when they aren't calling more than 15 runs a game...YPC was above four for Jackson, but slightly over three for Lynch...so that's plenty in my book (jackson)
  14. Actually I have to really disagree with this...I thought Levitre and Wood were more than solid...I wouldn't say a probowl season by any stretch, but for rookies I'm pretty excited with our interior line...our problems were not running the ball at all (which is more interior running) both of our backs averaged alright yardage in the middle...our problems were the edge...thus the millions of sacks we gave up...Tackles...but Wood and Levitre are probowl material in a couple years and very solid right now...Hangartner was pretty average, but not terrible...our tackles were the worst I've seen in all my years watching football..except for maybe Fina in the playoff game against the Titans...that was a miserable showing of Fina's age...but other than that one game...last year was PATHETIC I was sick to my stomach watching...I mean never mind that they couldn't block, they couldn't line up right, they couldn't even stand still right...presnap penalties were OUTRAGEOUS...D BELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ugh
  15. Yup, build up the fat power on the OLine, DLine...hopefully an edge rusher and worry about QB after that...I don't want Hasselbeck or Bulger...they are washed up and not a big enough upgrade to make the move... That being said...I would love to bring in a D Mac, or even Mike Vick...I think in a Gailey offense Vick would be perfect...he's got great arm strength and always part of some of the best rushing attacks in the game ever...so considering Gailey made Kordell a household name for a while, imagine what he could do with Vick...and since Vick doesn't throw often it'd get my 40-15 ratio run to pass :0) heheheh...and when he does decide to throw it, it gets there...so I'd like them to strike a deal for ANY of the philly QB's if not...you go with TE this year, then worry about it later...
  16. Yup, he has played at 275 in the past...you could beef him up a bit and he could be a decent DE...I like Kelsay at DE...he's already pretty powerful at his size...and like he said "He's a high motor guy"...rotation DE... He isn't worth moving...because of his lack of playing time, you wouldn't get much for him...and he can be productive he's definitely worth more on the roster than off it...plus he's a good leader and a vocal one...
  17. heheheheheh...no I'm not actually Trent, but people used to say the same thing back on BB.com about me actually being ugh Rob Johnson hehehee...so take what I say about QB's with a grain of salt...I thought RJ was going to be something great heheheh...but at any rate, I continue to give my opinions... It's like I've said in the past, I'm very good assessing DLinemen, OLinemen, and LB's...I'm horrible with QB's...like really horrible...I also said Leaf would be better than Manning...and that Cade McNown would turn out to be a good one
  18. Porter needs to get his azz to Buffalo for real...he's already got beef with Brady and the Dolphins....HE'S A BILL HE JUST DON'T KNOW IT
  19. Trent Edwards is going to be just fine...Lynch and Jackson run that offense for now...until we find something else...you're right an OT is a NECESSITY at this point...I've NEVER seen such a poor performance of an offensive line in my life (last season Bills OLine)...I was like Peyton Manning couldn't turn this around...it was ridiculous
  20. If we scoop up Porter by some miracle...I am SOOOOO ready for this defense to dominate...of course we have to draft a NT... We have playmakers in the secondary...with Porter Poz Davis and Veek/Maybin/Shobel/Kindle....ooooh dawgie.... Then our D Line with Edwards, Stroud/Williams/Cody or Joseph, and Stroud/Kelsay/Johnson....I think we got a top ten defense....and a crap offense still but whatever...LOOK AT THE DEFENSE hehehe
  21. All our QB's combined had the same amount of TD's and two more picks...but Hasselwack got five hundred more yards...not a huge upgrade IMO...why waste the money or roster spot...we want upgrades...not just a name change
  22. If we draft Kindle at 9 I'd be upset a little...not that he isn't going to be a GREAT OLB and PERFECT for our defense...I just think OLine is far more important right now...that being said, depending on how the first 8 picks go, I would still be upset, but not at the Bills at the situation lol..I want a star OT so bad it hurts...and a DT in the second or third depending on how they run...COdy in the second if he's there or Joseph in the third
  23. The Saints got lucky with Bushrod...he was a replacement for a two time probowler (Jammal Brown) and was surrounded by Three other probowlers in Stinchcomb, Evans, and Goodwin...then the fourth was an SN all rookie last season (Nicks)...so yeah maybe the LT wasn't a solidified thing...but Bushrod, anyone can argue that he had plenty of talented people around him helping out and even the Saints knew the importance of the position... I've said this before and I'll say it again....Superbowl winners have two or more probowlers 9 out of 10 times on the OLine..and I am not just using the saying 9 out of 10 times...it's the stats of the last twenty years...only the Steelers in 2009 and the Bucs had less than two probowlers on thier starting offensive lines...now to your point, they all weren't probowl LT's...however, they work as a unit and if you have probowl veterans on the line it helps out LT's...they can help him out with a PB Guard etc...
  24. His confidence may be damaged...maybe his broken...I don't think so though...I think this season was very circumstantial...the loss of talent on the OLine...the pressure to throw more because of bringing in T.O. didn't mix very well together, then the DJ pressure about winning because of his job...it was a complete mess and you cannot play worried...that's exactly the feeling that emulated...sure Fitzy came in with swagger because he had to "take" the job, he had nothing to lose...but after it was "his" job, he faultered as well...not as much as Edwards, but that's because again, where he was compared to where he was going was completely different, plus when he took over, we were at such a low point we couldn't do much worse no matter what happened...less pressure...Edwards, IMO, can rebound and his skills are good...I still believe in his potential...I do think he can regain his calm that he had before...at least I hope so...and considering all of situation in the draft and FA, I think it's our best bet THIS season...we'll find out what he's got, and then grab a QB at all costs next year if we need to...trade up and take the best available...we'll have much less to fill and will only really need an OLB possibly and a Franchise QB...so I think everything points to just going with Trent right now and beefing up to either train for the next future QB or for TE to become what we all thought he would become
  25. Hasselbeck is washed up...so he'll probably come here and get beat out by Trent Edwards and be a waste of a few million...
