  1. "I know we ended last season on kind of a sad note, and I wanted to raise spirits up for a new season... It’s a labor of love for the team I love and I have a lot of fun doing it. Obviously, the players are doing so much on the field, and they are what inspire us. But I feel the fans really drive this team and the energy is really wonderful in Buffalo and Rochester. I wanted to give back to the fans. My goal is to make people smile." http://www.democratandchronicle.com/story/sports/football/nfl/bills/2017/09/12/buffalo-bills-parody-jennie-fagen/659216001/
  2. Jennie Fagen from Greece has posted a couple of Bills songs on youtube. She has a great voice but I especially love the facials and body language - as if she were on stage in a musical... Clearly a real fan. http://video.search.yahoo.com/yhs/search?fr=yhs-w3i-synd1&hsimp=yhs-synd1&hspart=w3i&p=jennie+fagen+youtube+buffalo+bills#id=1&vid=3308429616e55ba631bb0cf7efdf3c88&action=view http://video.search.yahoo.com/yhs/search?fr=yhs-w3i-synd1&hsimp=yhs-synd1&hspart=w3i&p=jennie+fagen+youtube+buffalo+bills#id=2&vid=c9d2928147ff4f6ec8b9402df006caf2&action=view
  3. Miller started on Sunday and Ducasse didn't even suit up. I think Castillo's love for Ducasse may have been overstated by some in the past. Clearly neither Whaley nor McBeane have done enough with the right side of the line. Castillo's doing the best he can with what he's been given. And looking at our run stats from the opener, it seems to me he's doing just fine.
  4. Tyrod put up 224 yards at 8.0 yards per attempt. Pedestrian? Maybe. Then again, Russell Wilson has put up 226.5 yards per game in his career at 8.0 yards per attempt. And that kind of performance was good enough to get his team into the SB twice. We currently have the #2 offense in the NFL. Oh, and we won. I'm not sure how that's not competitive. Not all fans.
  5. I didn't notice the addition of Trapasso and Veronica - lots of new stuff! I still won't pay. I don't think we should link content behind paywalls.
  6. I thought the throw-aways were interesting. I think he would have scrambled instead last season. And he seemed a little more inclined to throw to the middle of the field. But it's only one game. I'd need to see more before proclaiming same-old-Tyrod or new-and-improved-Tyrod.
  7. PFF is imperfect and subjective but neither criticism makes it useless. I think it's great folks are trying to figure out better ways to quantify performance in football. I don't know if it's been mentioned here but Chris Collinsworth liked PFF so much he recently bought it. Thirty NFL teams subscribe to their services. Not as a be-all/end-all, but simply as another perspective that might have value. https://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/patriots/2017/09/06/cris-collinsworth-focus-has-never-been-better/I1C0h5RBMC5QygPleCYRXM/amp.html
  8. I don't believe this either. I think the first win was crucially important so McD and Frazier put together the game plan that had the most likelihood of success. But I also agree they didn't display their "entire bag of tricks." We'll see new wrinkles against a different opponent with different threats.
  9. I used to read some of the BN's Bills articles. As an out-of-towner, it seemed a good way to stay in touch. But I won't pay. I can't say anything about Kimberley Martin but the rest of them don't tell me anything new. They watch the same game we watch, then add their negative spin. Or they take the same interview we can find on the Bills website - or reported on in Rochester - and add their negative spin. There's no new data, no inside information, no keen insights. I learn nothing from the BN writers and don't find them entertaining.
  10. Agree with much that's been posted already. Of course - it's only one game. Some of our worries will vanish next week while new worries will emerge. But all-in-all, it was an encouraging performance. Btw, I love the BN headlines from Bucky and Sully: Jerry Sullivan: Bills win, but don't read too deeply into it Bucky Gleason: More fiction than facts in Bills' win over Jets Jerry Sullivan's Hot Read: Nice start, but passing game still an issue Bucky Gleason's Hot Read: Bills fans should rejoice ... while they can
  11. Juan Castillo is blind? You know the man personally? You know offensive line play better than he does? I'm trying to understand why you would make such a damning statement about someone you don't actually know. Help me out. Castillo has been coaching football for 35 years. In what way are your football credentials so superior to his that you can define him as "blind" without ever meeting the guy or questioning him about his decision making process. I understand we're fans and we're kind of supposed to judge our team - but to stoop to broad, sweeping attacks without the knowledge to back it up just isn't right.
  12. 6% of the season is over and we've already got 10% of the wins we need for a playoff spot !
  13. They outgained them nearly 2 to 1 and won the game. Even given that the opponent was the Jets, it was a good game. With so many new coaches and new players, it was nice to warm up on an easier opponent.
  14. Rico: 400+ yards offense against a decent NYJ defense in his first game as OC.
  15. Only 30? (You might be a relative rookie but I love the positive attitude!)
  16. cover1, this was a great breakdown. I was dimly aware that he was better at run blocking that pass pro... but wow! Your highlight reel effectively emphasized his strengths and weaknesses. Good stuff!
  17. Bills 21, Jets 13. For a short, sunny, glorious week, the Bills will sit atop the AFCE ahead of the Pats.
  18. Good news. Demonstrates to Shady that the Bills new regime values him. Shady was already under contract. They didn't have to do this.
  19. Thanks for sharing. I don't disagree with TT being grouped as a "Middle of Road Starter."
  20. That was my favorite part of the article. I don't know how good of coach McD is. But he's done nothing since he's been here so far to make me doubt him. I like the way this guy talks and I'm glad he's not afraid of bold action.
  21. I get you don't like McD and what he said. But why do you have to be childishly disrespectful of the man?
  22. Kyle: "From being around Sean and knowing what we're trying to do, I've grown to trust him and what we're doing."
