The only problem that I have with Hackett is failure to understand how to manage the time. With 5:00 minutes left, more or less, you do not run a hurry up offense. As much as I like Spiller, I can honestly say that he is clearly not consistent at running the football as a running back should. He needs to learn that he will not always run for 10+ yards on every handoff. He will become more of a consistent runner once he realizes that he needs to pound and hit those creases extremely hard the moment that he sees them develop. Instead, he always seems indecisive and tentative at frequently. Clearly, if the team decided to trade him it will not hurt us. Another thing that I noticed is how he fears getting hit. This is what causes him to fumble. In any case, he's a decent back with speed to say the least, but he is no Adrian Peterson. Spiller has one more year on his contract, lets think twice before throwing money at him. I'd rather draft a bruising RB with speed ALA Jerome Bettis or Rodney Hampton type running back.

You know, we have so many WR this year that are good, but only one tall WR that is past 6'3". All I know is that some will be cut. However, we can always list Kaufman as a TE/WR to just add another reason to keep him on. Of course, we can always send him down to the practice squad. But then risk losing him to another team that covets him. Lets think about this for a moment.

In looking at WR Brandon Kaufman I realized that he is 6'5" @ 215 pounds. He also runs a 4-58 40 yard dash. He's got magnet hands and an impressive vertical should he need to jump up and catch overthrown balls. If he is able to gain an additional 10-20 lbs of muscle he may be able to covert into a TE. EJ has got the biggest upside out of all the QBs. His balls will rip through the strong winds in buffalo. When I think of Barkley I think about his arm and how well it has healed. Keep in mind he did not have surgery on it. Makes you think if he may have a slight tear in his rotator cuff. I think Florida States offense was poor mediocre at most and when your behind and offense like that as a qb your talents are hidden. Now. When you think about what he did at the pro bowl you put one and one together. He thrived big time.

At this point, it would behoove the Bills to select EJ late in the first that is if they can trade down. He makes the most sense and would definitely have a longer career when compared to Nassib and Barkley. My thinking is that we need to get a QB that needs to sit and learn this season while learning from Kolb and Jackson. IMO, Kolb will start and thrive with the bills this season. He was throwing darts in camp weeks ago.

Is is possible that the bills could trade Byrd for more picks? I would do it in a heart beat and just pick up that safety from Syracuse as a replacement.
