good thread this luck kid cant do anything

Kyle Williams is one of the type of guys that make me remain a die-hard bills fan. Love the work ethic, love the effort, he is an outstanding player. That being said, we have the worst run defense in the nfl. period.

A Few Thoughts About The Game
racecitybills replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agree with the majority of the original post except one- I hate NE as much as anyone - cant stand beicheat but........going for it on 4th down was not running it up - they were on the 32 or 33 - you punt and it is a 12 yd net- a FG is over 50 in poor conditions- the odds of keeping your drive alive and moving the sticks are better- only practical decision - Chan did it several times from the same yardage- yes we were getting killed and trying to come back but it was not a "running it up" get over it -

Pat Williams, 3 year $13 million deal

How about that Darryl Lamonica trade? PTR Might be the funniest response ever -
I want to clarify something- I do not think the officials in the NFL "cheat" - By and large they do a great job but...I do think NFL officials make errors and I also think that officials are influenced by reputation - good or bad -when they make subjective calls. Let's ask james harrison if he thinks his rep is hurting him. When Troy p picked that ball off the official seemed to turn into a fan and just watch the guy go - the official missed the contact and we should have challenged it. Players who are the "celeb" types get the benefit of getting calls - Ocho, TO those guys can pretty much push off to get 'separation" anytime they want just like Moss, Michael Irvin and Plaxico - these guys have the rep over some no-name guy in buffalo and they get the call 9 out of 10 times. I dont care how many calls went against the steelers yesterday - if it is a penalty call it- if a guy is down he's down- I have lived in several areas of the country and live down south - not a soul who is not from buffalo could ID 5 guys on our team - we are never on feature games. Officials are human - they are sports fans- they know who the big time players are that does influence them - As a team who is struggling to get an identity you have to make a stand and let them know you are keeping them honest - I guarantee every official on the field in any game Bill Cowher coached knew his rep and knew he was going to get every call he could to go his way - does that mean they cheat? no - it just means it keeps them aware. I really like the job Chan is doing but he needs to fight like a maniac a couple of times to get their attention.

The Bengals are bottom feeders this year due to their record- won their division last yr or the yr before- the last few years they have been coddled with tv shows and featured as an up and coming team- they have celebrity type players that get the media - we for the most part don't- "Marshawn" was who the officials called out for the illegal contact- "#23" obviously an error but still funny
-
I hate to dredge up useless material but alas I will- Besides the phantom reviews, the no-call interference(s) all day, the illegal contact on Marshawn, all on top of the free field goal given to the Bengals last week- add this one to my list- When Polamalu made the pick at the goal line- a great play by a great player- he was tangled with Johnson on the way down - contact was made and he should have been down there- he got up and ran a little and we tackled him at the five or six. Seems like an insignificant play but the way williams was coming through the middle it could have been huge to have the steelers inside the one. Do we have anyone upstairs looking? Challenege the spot Chan! a huge play could have been made! My only point in dredging this up is the continued lack of respect the bottom feeders of the league get as opposed to the elite teams- the officials just assume the "better" team is in the right and don't ever question their own judgements- until the Bills earn the respect of the officials they will continue to get the short end of every judgement call. Go ahead and rip me for complaining about the officiating but Chan- who I am fully behind- needs to go Bill Cowher and get furious over a call or non-call at some point to get their attention-

sorry folks I was offline for the game and could not hear much of the broadcast- How did that play at the end of regulation get reviewed? did we not run another play - a spike play? Did we get an explanation on that?
-
Maybin not on the inactive list- will we see him play?

Does anyone know if the guy that did the taping was the guy that did the deed for the Pats? he was hired from New England- how stupid does Mcdaniels have to be? He should be fined for hiring the guy

Some plays that showed character
racecitybills replied to Logical Reasoning's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It is physically impossible is this universe for that play to have ended and for cincy to get a time out. It was a complete gift. It was a running play. Play continues until the play is blown dead. When the play is blown dead someone can call time out. None of these things happened. Eddie the ref just arbitrarily added the second back in. There is a reason nfl teams never run with 7 seconds or less remaining. 9 times out of ten they do not run or pass with less than 7 seconds in that situation. Eddie gave marvin a complete and utter gift. -

Please explain how you believe adding 1 sec was the correct call -
I get incensed pretty easily at the NFL officiating but this one was one for the ages- This guy was still getting pushed forward and backward (can anyone say "ravens' forward progress?) while Eddie the ump was saving marvin lewis's ass for not kicking the FG. Absolute total BS ruling. I have said for years that the NFL officials favor the teams who get good press and continually slap down the perennial downtrodden. I real like Chan but he should have protested that whole debacle to the point of getting tossed. He should have challenged the call (which I know is non-reviewable) just to torture them - he then should have kept calling time outs until he got penalized- then he should have chased eddie down ala bill cowher and ripped him a new one. The Bills will not get resspect from the officials until they embarrass one of the crews- if Buddy and the boys dont demand an explanation from the league office this week then shame on them too- Not a snowballs chance and hell that the clock was stopped on a third down running play with 5 seconds to go - none whatsoever!

I have to agree on Kelsay- I have been ripping this guy for weeks and he was actually very solid yesterday- good pressure- held his edge a number of times - kind of shocking-

Official Bills At Chiefs game thread
racecitybills replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How may missed plays does Kelsay have to have????? Why is this guy on the field??? Activate Maybin- let him make these mistakes and learn- he at least has upside Kelsay is pathetic -
The patsies as usual got all the calls they needed- throat holds never called, first downs reversed, offsides called incorrectly - but for the dooffuses from cbs to actually run replays of a non-called penalty in their eyes is comical - you could run every pass play back for both teams and find holding - replays on non-called penalties- come on cbs!

Anybody going to give Chan a little credit for playing possum with spiller? Looks like he did a little belichik job on belichik!
