  1. Just curious if anyone else would be interested in Trent Richardson as a backup RB option, perhaps next year if we do not grab a young guy in the draft or as an UDFA. NFL numbers were never great as a pure rusher, but he adds something as a receiver and could be a good change of pace back. He's played well in the CFL recently, currently listed at 5'9 and 225 pounds (5lbs below his listed NFL playing weight) he has 48 rushes for 259 yards (5.4 avg.) and a couple of touchdowns. His best game came on 10/27 when he carried the ball 20 times for 127 yards. His career yards per carry in the NFL was 3.3. But, he definitely caught the ball well. Would you guess he averaged 8.1 yards per reception during his career? I would not have, but he did. And, it wasn't on a handful of exceptions. He caught 51 passes as a rookie, 35 between the Browns and Colts in 2013, and another 27 in 2014 in a limited role. I know the reports say he was slow to hit the hole, Jim Brown said he was nothing special, and I remember reporters saying nothing he did looked easy for him. However, I would definitely take a look, especially if we get close to next year with a back up RB situation anything like it has been this year.
  2. Absolutely. I guess I replied more on the thread title of what talented players did we completely waste here, as opposed to the OP's description asking which players didn't receive enough fame/recognition.
  3. Remember when our backfield included a young McGahee and Travis Henry. We could have built an explosive offense around them and ended this drought over a decade ago. Actually, looking at the 2004 roster, it makes no sense we didn't make the playoffs that year and start building a dynasty. I'd take something similar to that roster again in a heartbeat.
  4. There's Kelly being a big flopping DB again. How people have ever liked him or looked at him as a role model is beyond me.
  5. Never like to see a guy get hurt, but at least the locker room won't be divided when Peterman starts now.
  6. TT isn't going to lead a comeback. Put Peterman in...or Webb or let White throw. Poyer seems like a good option. Anyone but Tyrod. We know what Tyrod is going to do. At least with anyone else there's some excitement and a sliver of hope.
  7. One good drive from Taylor today, which ended with one of the worst decisions/passes I've seen, and nothing since then for this offense aside from the spark Joe Webb gave us. Yet, people still want TT to be the QB. Makes zero sense. Tired of watching the BS.
  8. Texans win tonight and the Browns win at SD on Sunday with Josh Gordon coming back. Put it on the board.
  9. Yea...sorry. Explained it a bit more in my next post.
  10. Actually, somewhere along the way, whether it was actually TT himself or repeated by other players (I think the TV announcers mentioned it last game), Tyrod said if he got to play again he understands what the coaches want and what he needs to do. Hopefully this means he realizes he needs to throw the ball to WRs, even if it means there is a chance of an INT and that he needs to better anticipate throws. He hit Zay a few times when he did play in the second half, so maybe that was the beginning of a transition for him. I am absolutely fine with Tyrod if he starts to throw to receivers who are not obviously open, and gets rid of the ball quicker. I have nothing against TT being our QB, and used to be totally in his corner. That said, i CANNOT take more ball pats, hesitation and check downs. Yes, I would rather see five picks per half than that.
  11. 20/29 305 yards 3 TDs 2 INTs ....Bills win! Based on what we have seen from him so far and the way he likes to sling the ball around, no way he escapes without throwing a pick.
  12. You mean wait a week so we can see 75 more ball pats and WRs waving their arms while standing in the middle of the field wide open? Wait a week so Tyrod can throw for 120 yards and we can be 5-5? Can you honestly say you don't get 100% frustrated watching him play QB? Are the two to three good plays he makes each game enough to leave you wanting more? I get that too. Nobody can be certain, but there's a sense of hope and excitement because there's a CHANCE he may do well, which is potential for a huge change of pace over the TT mediocrity.
  13. I think it's more optimism about Peterman actually being able to throw to our WRs and sustain drives, than it is thinking he's the next great QB. I mean, he's going to have to be absolutely awful to do less than TT. And, even if he is awful, oh well, as we definitely weren't going anywhere other than 6-10 or 7-9 with Tyrod.
  14. Because this really needed another thread?? It's been discussed in detail in the Peterman thread and about 8 others. I'll give the simple answer though. Peterman gives us a better chance to make playoffs.
  15. I put this in a different thread as well when someone mentioned Vick, but I'm going to put it here as well. This is interesting because if I were to ask who the better NFL QB is, Michael Vick or Tyrod Taylor, I am assuming people would unanimously say Vick. Well, if that is true... Vick's best season was in 2004 when he was 24 years old with a record of 11-4 where he passed for 2,313 yards, 14TDs and 12INT. He rushed for 902 yards and 3 TDs this season. The Falcons were middle of the road on defense this year, ranking 14th overall. Fun fact, Peerless Price was on this team. You want yards instead? The most yards Vick every passed for was 3303 in 2011with the Philadelphia Eagles when he was 31 years old. He tossed 18 TDs to 14 INTs and had a 7-6 record as a starter that year. Fun fact, LeSean McCoy and Jason Peters were on that team...along with DeSean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin and Brent Celek (more talent than we have). Aside from that 11 win season the next best season Vick had in terms of wins is 8. He did this three times, twice with Atlanta and once with Philly. So, if we all agree Vick is better than Tyrod, and I really do not know how you can argue otherwise, it should be apparent that he has had more than enough time to prove himself and what he can do. What do you want to do, wait around for 3000 yards and a couple 8 win seasons? Vick played 12 seasons (tossing out 2009 when he only started 1 game) and won more than 8 games once. ONCE! 1 for 12 on winning more than 8 games. And people are really waiting on a less talented player to lead this team to the playoffs? Yea, this QB change was long overdue 4pm...totally forgot about that. Yuck and BOOOOOOO

  17. Is it Sunday yet? I'm so pumped it's like Christmas came early!
  18. A QB that can keep the offense on the field will absolutely improve the defensive performance as a result.
