  1. I am a little disappointed, but not surprised with our start. I was the least excited for this season as I can ever remember. That said, I liked what I saw in the second half, and think we win next week. I will be disappointed and surprised if we are 0-3. I would not have said that last week, but I now think we can win.
  2. For anyone who's ever had a job, you know that for even the worst job, if you have a good supervisor and decent co-workers, you're still going to give your two weeks notice simply because you respect and appreciate those you work with. Now, you can also have a good, or at least decent/tolerable job, but if the people suck, you may walk out at lunch time and not come back. Or, maybe the job, culture, and people suck, and you need to run as far as you can, as fast as you can. I don't know what is going on internally in that locker room, but back to my first point, if you have any respect at all for those you work for/with, even in a crappy job, you don't just abandon them without notice.
  3. If we play 4 quarters like we played the last 2 today, I think we get to 1-2 next week.
  4. The Doug Marrone and Nathaniel Hackett tandem is doing us a favor today by beating *NE. I actually liked that coaching staff and always thought Hackett was a pretty intelligent offensive mind. I hated that Marrone quit on us, but do feel the drought would have ended that following year had he stayed.
  5. My wife and I evacuated from Wilmington, NC due to Hurricane Florence and have been staying at a hotel in Atlanta since Tuesday. Tomorrow, we are driving to a hotel in Aiken, SC to get a couple of hours back closer to home until we can safely travel back to Wilmington. Does anyone have recommendations for a place to watch the game in Aiken/Augusta?
  6. Instant upgrade. If this could happen, why wouldn't they do it? Forget character, let's get some talent.
  7. It's not the hunger games. There isn't a gamemaker intentionally trying to kill teams.
  8. Obvious holds on ravens nearly every play
  9. D has looked great this quarter.
  10. This is the least optimistic I've felt headed into the season in a long time. I typically make somewhere between a 12-4 and 14-2 prediction. Even through some really bad years, I've found reason for promise and hope. There isn't much promise this year. I'll be rooting for that 14-2 season, but it feels like a 5 win type of year, if that.
  11. Do you not remember how quickly he was progressing and "getting" it? As I remember it, with a couple years of experience under his belt, he was beginning to develop quickly and all indications were pointing to him being a very good QB. He threw for 3200 yards and slightly over a 65% completion percentage in his second year, and was showing even more promise in 2016 camp and preseason prior to the injury. At the time, I didn't think there was any way Minnesota wouldn't stick with him through the entire recovery. He very much looked like their QB of the future.
  12. Beane shipped Tyrod out of town. He deserves a 10 year extension for that move alone.
  13. I thought he had to be sacrificed for the drought to end last year.
  14. Time to go get Richie back (out of jail/counseling/the clinic or wherever). Just play nice and ask him nicely to come back.
  15. I hope some day really soon this board and the national media can let go of the Chargers game and talk about Peterman without mentioning that game. Yea, a rookie had a bad half against a great defense in his first ever nfl start. Can we move on?
  16. The quick release and decisiveness is what endeared so many on this board to Peterman last year. He still has that and a better command of the offense overall. No reason why he shouldn't be our starter or why he can't be successful.
  17. Broken collarbone for AJM
  18. I believe Phillip's has been playing the entire half. Is that correct?
  19. There has to be a UDFA RB out there that has something to offer. The number of late round picks and undrafted guys at the RB position that excel make it inevitable. Now I'm not one of the "dime a dozen" believers per se, and believe there is a benefit and winning strategy to taking young guys like Fournette, Cook and Hunt in the first 3 rounds. That said, there has to be a guy out there just waiting for his chance to be a star.
  20. So everything that's already been noted 1000 times. Cool.
  21. I worked with this guy's aunt for 6 years. Great kid and a great family.
