Several very good RBs will be available in rounds 3 and 4. We need to grab one of them.

I don't think he'll be stepping anywhere tomorrow.

Fair. Maybe then should have taken LVE without trading up and then taken a guy like Nick Chubb.
Allen makes up for all of Edmunds sins ATM so let’s ride.
There's Vander Esch again.
I'll need to watch Edmund's more closely this weekend.

It is very much a thing. Edmunds doesn’t fill a hole, he has excellent range but his instincts or manhood often come up short. He NEVER goes straight into a RB. NEVER.
Maybe he's learning the game at this level, improving his instincts even more, will eat a couple of rare steaks this offseason and will come back with more manhood and capability of filling some holes.

It’s pretty clear who has range and wants contact? Who just has range?
I don't think I've seen Edmunds avoiding contact. Is that a thing?

edmunds over vander esch isnt looking good
I was contemplating this. Edmunds is having a great year, but Vander Esch has been a beast since he's been in the starting role. I'm trying to determine who will be better 5 years from now, and am not really leaving one way or the other.

Vander Esch has his name said A LOT during Dallas games. He's looking good.

It’s an interesting question. If Allen turns out to be Big Ben, there’s no way I trade 15 years of that for a few years of A rod. And cheaper salary for at least the next 4 years.
Now of course the big question is can Allen be Big Ben/Newton good.
I agree. The original post about this said to assume Rodgers would play at a similar level as this year for four more years and that Allen shows positive development for the remainder of this season.
I think the knee jerk reaction says it is a no brainer trade to make. But, the potential of Allen developing into "the guy" for Buffalo makes it a pretty interesting question to consider.

I mean I enjoyed our victory over the 3-7 Jags but are posters really asking if they would trade Allen for Rodgers???? I didn’t drink enough in celebration apparently.
Is it really that easy of a decision to trade a potential franchise QB (think 15+ years of QB stability) for four years of Rodgers?
-
I would take Allen over Darnold.
On a similar note, but completely different question; there are rumors that Aaron Rodgers will likely not finish his career in GB, and even that he may have already, or soon will, request a trade. Some (random chatter I hear on sports radio) feel he has about 4 to 5 years left and that his skills are diminishing, though his numbers remain solid (TD to INT ratio is ridiculous - shout out to Poyer). I think it is apparent he looks better now (these past two games) since he his healthy and has mostly regained his full mobility.
Obviously this is hypothetical, which requires some assumptions, but assume Rodgers wants out of GB and does have 4 good years left (similar level of play as this season). Would you trade Allen straight up for four years of Aaron Rodgers producing at the level he is currently demonstrating he can play at? It is a complete unknown what exactly Allen will achieve, but for the sake of this question, assume he continues to progress and display signs of positive development.
I do not mean to hijack this thread, but it is all "would you rather" QB discussion, and I did not see much need for a completely new thread.

Already? He didn't even get a real shot.

It's against a bad Jets team, but maybe Barkley is earning the opportunity to sign a 3 or 4 year contract to be JA's backup.

Kerryon Johnson has looked pretty good in the action ive seen him in this year
He has, and he has still been limited by the way Detroit has used him. At one point he was averaging something ridiculous like 7 or 8 yards a carry and they were giving him the ball maybe 4 or 5 times a game. It seemed obvious from the beginning Johnson was their best back by far, and they still insisted on a very inefficient and not very effective rotation of backs up until about 2 weeks ago.

They had better not use a 3rd round pick on a RB.
I'm in favor of any pick that is an offensive position.

Have you seen how Detroit uses RBs? If not, it is not in a way that makes them shine. The dude is extremely talented.

Sign this guy now, and you don't have to worry about using a 3rd ot 4th round pick on a RB in the next draft. If you're looking toward the future, a starting RB is now out there for the taking.
-
Good! However, grab the RB of the future somewhere in rounds 3 or 4. It is very possible to get a great back in that area of the draft, and then ease them in next year as you slowly transition McCoy out of the feature back role by the end of 2019. I'm thinking by the end of next year try to get McCoy about 12 carries per game while get ting the new guy about 10. Of course, Shady should start next year with about 80 to 90 percent of the touches.
-
Did anyone say Vince Young yet? Cause I think he still has a birthday party loan to pay off and would probably take the job if offered.

And for those of you who want to tell me that it's really McD calling the shots - fine. This will put him on notice.
Totally. I'm sure he saw this and try his very hardest moving forward now that he's "on notice". As a second year coach, he didn't know this was serious and that he had to win games. Now that he knows, I'm sure he'll promise to do better.

The last people I would trust to give an objective assessment would be family.
It's also rooted in some weird vendetta against Elway. Why do I care he won a superbowl? He was never anyone that held the Bills or Jim Kelly back during their run.
The fact this spoiled brat who likes to talk about guns and spraying up clubs got cut by him doesn't add anything to it.
Chad Kelly is a douche bag. How anyone can root for him or like him, I don't understand. He threatens people, runs out on to high school fields. He's openly aggressive towards society.
This isn't a drug problem, this is an ***** with a drug problem. I always wish people can clean themselves up who may have substance abuse issues. I hope he can get clean if that is the case, but he is also an ass. I won't root for him beyond getting clean and the help he might need. That's if he does.
Well, some of his issues are actually more likely rooted in societal norms and expectations of what defines masculinity, but we won't get into that on a football discussion board.
Yea, he has made some mistakes, but nothing unforgivable, especially considering the number of guys that get second and third chances after beating their kids, raping women, and punching/strangling their significant others. By comparison, Chad Kelly is a saint.
And you want to talk about douche bags? Eli Manning and Bryce Harper are likely the two biggest douch bags in all of professional sports, but they're happily employed.

How often do you think he's uttered the phrase "Do you know who my uncle is?"

No doubt about it, the kid is talented. I would have had no issues using a 4th round pick on him in that draft. Now, we can have him without giving up anything. Why not take a chance? Hopefully the front office has already reached out.
Elway won a superbowl while Jim couldn't. How sweet would it be to ultimately win a championship with JK's nephew after he was cut by Elway. I realize that's jumping ahead and dreaming, but man would it be awesome.

Was Frank an available HC option when the Bills hired McD?
I'd actually be more interested in knowing if we even attempted to sign him as a QB this past offseason.

Ivory and Murphy are more than capable of carrying this running game. Trade McCoy for whatever you can get at this point. Get rid of KB. Get a new OC. Forget game preparation (although it looks like we've already done this) and use the extra time putting together your FA and draft boards.
NFL helmets in college colors

This is pretty cool and something different for this time of year (it is more like an offseason post). I really like the Bills concept/colors as well as the Lions, Vikings and Eagles.
