Texans Hire Bill O'Brien as Their Next Head Coach
agardin replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If O Brien leaves, PSU will have to get someone big. Pettine might be the right guy , I have no idea but if I am the AD I am calling Tressel. I always thought OSU's violations were minor and over blown or is it too soon to bring in a guy that was busted for organizational control issues? -

According to Bleacher Report, a couple of big recruits said they spoke to OBrien and he said it wasn't true......we shall see. -

Draft day movie trailer slams Bills.
agardin replied to GoBills19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not sure if that reply was for me or if I am missing something but no anger here. Just throwing out a couple of football movies. The one I forgot was Rudy, cheesy yes but I did like it. -

North Dallas Forty The Longest Yard All the right moves Off the top of my head these weren't bad. I actually liked Any Given Sunday as well. Not a great list though, baseball would have better films. -
Given the mature nature of NFL revenue streams I would expect expansion sooner rather than later. TV contract is done, NFL network done, nfl.com for merchandizing, ticket prices close to max. Cap on salaries is in place so no money there. Perhaps a junior league to rival college, they do make a bucket of money off football? But no. Expansion it is.

The magic answer is player selection and retention. The Bills had a good draft and picked up some nice pieces in trades and UFDA. If they can keep it up, resign who they should and EJ improves this team will be a playoff contender. Coaching is important but show me good players and I will show you a good coach, especially true with QBs. Ps new cheerleaders are always a good idea.

I think the Bills should be in a division with Cleveland, Pitt and Detroit. Local fans could easily drive to road games. I think mass re alignment is a good idea. There are a bunch of natural rivalries the NFL could take advantage of.

Todd McShay Mock Draft 1.0
agardin replied to Mike in Horseheads's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Lewan is under investigation for an assault charge as per Bleacher Report. Sorry, I am on my phone so I can't link article. -
Where there is a will. Would the belief that a Super Bowl is on the horizon (say five years out) move local authorities into action. I'm not from Buffalo but I keep reading about developing the waterfront, new stadiums and potential sites. Logistical problems could be solved, it won't be perfect but my point is that the areas fans deserve the chance to host. I suppose the host city could decline and admit they are not big league. As for the snow and cold, the CFL used to play all of the Grey Cups indoors and then started to rotate the game into some freezing places and the game has always worked....especially for the fans, they love it. Whiny reporters who want a free trip to San Diego every year, that is a different story. Not just Buffalo but think of all the other places the NFL extracts money from without the potential payoff a Super Bowl would bring.
-
I hope it snows, not too much but just enough to make it interesting. If I were commissioner I would rotate the Super Bowl through every city in the league, including Buffalo. It would be a chance for each city to put its best foot forward and reward the fans in each city. If your city supports an NFL team it deserves a shot. Corporate elites will turn up and I bet some cities would beat people's expectations.

My theory on why the Bills looked so horrific today

Agree, This is professional football right? -
Fire Doug Marrone, Draft Another 1st Round QB
agardin replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree, I had no delusions of playoffs or even winning records. I did want to see improvement on both sides of the ball. I can see hope on D but the offense is regressing. I want them to be at least a very difficult out and a team on the rise, the last two weeks have shown the Bills to be the exact opposite. Fire the staff and bench the QB? Not yet but the current trajectory doesn't inspire a ton of cofidence. -
Colts Elevate Da'Rick Rogers to the Active Roster
agardin replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's true that Hogan is a different player and he did flash a bit during the preseason so I see your point. The team kept Hogan and then couldn't utilize him better, either way it is an indictment of coaching and/or management. -
Colts Elevate Da'Rick Rogers to the Active Roster
agardin replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hogan's stat line 7 catches 63 yards 0 TD I know it is one game and the kid maybe dumber than a bag of hair but his physical talent can't be taught. I posted last night that I am in for drafting a big WR. Who knows if Da Rick could have been that guy but I am pretty sure Hogan isn't going to be. -
Dareus has played really well inside this year IMO, not sure about moving him. A case could be made for a true end in the draft, someone to get to the QB while Mario occupies a couple of blockers. Dline depth is always a good idea as these rotate in and out
-
The Bills may have to move up to get Jenkins. He would be a great fit though.
-
A few mocks have Evans going to the Bills, sounds good to me. He is one big dude, tough to see him losing the jump ball. If he can learn to catch the ball well away from his body like Tony Gonzales he will be very hard to defend in traffic.

Who is pulling for MSU over OSU Not an SEC fan but I feel that Auburn deserves the spot over OSU.

Single Play to define the Bills Franchise
agardin replied to Coach55's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wide right for me The game against Atlanta is a pretty good microcosm for more recent times. Potentially losing a game twice in a period of ten minutes is shocking until you remember that it is the Bills. I love them but they are not a team for weak hearts. -
I am a BPA kinda guy but I agree with the big receiver crowd. The Bills need a physical WR that can win the contested ball 30 yards downfield. WRs usually take a few years to develop so getting a good one now makes sense to me. I was for picking Michael Floyd a few years back, if you could go into the way back machine would you take Floyd or Gilmore in a redo scenario?

Official Second Half Thread: Week 11, Jets at Bills
agardin replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A very nice win, the D looked great and the offense put up some points. A harbinger of things to come or did they just beat an overmatched QB? I am choosing to billieve the former? Go Bills! -
Nine games played,we are looking at the draft
agardin replied to Buffaloed in Pa's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like the idea of a WR that can make plays when covered and a solid LB in the first two rounds.
