Honestly, I just assume the vast majority of NFL players are on something. They don't test for HGH so...... Pete Carrol may not be the most liked coach on this board but his players clearly love him. No team plays harder and seems to have more fun. I believe Carrol was also named the coach most NFL players would want to play for. Carrol spoke of creating a home for his players, showing them he cared and that he could work with them. BS? Probably....but his philosophy has translated into a winning program where players have bought in. This likely allowed he Seahawks to draft certain players that others would not take as their approach is to build players up. When you do that you may end up with a few more bad apples, but bad apples that can play. Perhaps this approach would pay dividends with players like Dareus, SJ and would have allowed the Bills to keep a guy like Marshawn productive while in a Bills uniform. Dare I mention the name Da'Rick? There are different approaches to coaching and ball breakers win too. Whatever the approach, the coach needs a winning culture and buy in. Do the Bills appear to be heading that way, I say yes but the jury is still out.

GB at 16 to 1 is the play for me. A healthy Rodgers, Lacy and some offensive lineman returning makes those odds very attractive. I just closed my betting account but perhaps I will put 50 down on that. I can hear bet bet bet bet from that old Flintstones episode in my head.

Big Game today - Broncos vs Seahawks - for all the marbles
agardin replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am impressed with Carroll, it has been said that no team pays harder and has more fun than the Seahawks. He deserves a ton of credit for that. He has built a culture that has worked and a focus on team that is a solid foundation for the revolving door of players. They drafted well and their line up is filled with middle round draft picks. Carroll has gotten more out of players by selling he dea that he treats them well and that they have a home in Seattle. You need not look farther than the Bills own Marshawn Lynch for the fruits of that approach. Back in the BLO, the Bills are running players out on a rail for immaturity and human foibles, perhaps a more reasoned approach is required. -
A List For Future SB Half Time Entertainment

The Who are my favorite band and even with that bias I thought they did just OK. I thought Bruno Mars was excellent. The 60s rock bands and 80s/90s pop stars super bowls are well past their prime. I can look at Katy Perry all day so she will do, other than that I can't think of anyone. There isn't a band touring right now that I haven't already seen that I would pay money to see. Sad really. -
I've got the Seahawks. Denver hasn't seen a D like this. The game I saw which a D played well against the Broncos was their loss to the Chargers. I think that the pressure will get to Manning and while he doesn't take sacks the Seahawks DBs won't get beat on the hot reads. Seahawks offense pounds the ball with the occasional big play to Harvin. Seattle 24 Denver 20

Discussion of The Bills Fan Alliance concept
agardin replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would 'donate' to the cause. Similar capital pools are being raised through various internet sites with the proceeds going to finance films and lots of other projects. Some of the individuals soliciting the funds in these others cases are plenty wealthy and people dont seem to mind. It is the same basic principle here. People give and don't expect any financial return. -
Big Game today - Broncos vs Seahawks - for all the marbles
agardin replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I got the Seahawks to win outright. Their D is one of the best I have seen in long time. Should be close with Wilson making a few big plays to pull it out. To me Harvin could be the X factor, he hasn't played but I think he makes a big impact today. -
I never want to see a city lose a team but it seems like an NFL team in LA is going to happen sooner or later and another city's team is better than the Bills.

For me there are holes on the O line, WR and LB. Upgrades at those plus more consistency from Manuel and the Bills are well on their way to hosting a playoff game. I think they should take a run at Butler from SD for the LB spot, draft Oline and WR as I don't see any FAs leaping off the page.

BB 2014 Off-season discussion; Mocks, FA, etc.
agardin replied to Armchair GM's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Any thoughts at taking a run at Butler from SD. He has a few injuries but when healthy he looked solid to me and would look good in MLB slot. Doubt SD lets him go but as long as we are throwing names out there..... -
Who do you want to be the next DC?

Spags was a good coach and had a terrible run of injuries while a head coach in ST. Louis. If I recall he was aggressive and did beat Brady. The Bills could do worse. -
I think Clowney is getting a pass because he apparently had some nagging injuries. He is a size, speed and athleltic freak, not the same player but I am reminded of Mario Williams when he went number 1 overall. His type of athletic specs can't be taught and dont come around that often. Megaton was the same way and to a lesser extent Suh. The more I think about it, I would be OK with the Bills trading up for Clowney, despite other holes. He would be the only player I can say this about, especially if there is a run on QBs and the Bills only have to jump a few slots. Not likely but you never know. The D line is already pretty good but I believe he will be a great player.

What is your second favorite NFL team?
agardin replied to BuffalothruMyVeins's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Whomever I bet on. Sometimes I love to bet the over, then you are just cheering for points. Nothing high stakes but even 10 bucks on a game gives a reason to root for a team or outcome. If I don't have money on a game and the Bills aren't playing then I really don't care. I cheer for ND as well, so I like to see those former players do well. -
I got Seattle plus 8 SF even SD minus 9.5 Under 51 in the New England game. I think NE pulls it off but I am not comfortable with plus 7. It's supposed to by windy in Foxboro. Teams score in the snow and rain but the wind is a killer. Should be some good games, even the Seattle game. I just see a Seahawks turnover late in the game that pushes it out of reach.

How about Butler from SD. I think he is a free agent. He was hurt and didn't have a great season but he has been very good in the past.

Would the Bills trade up to get Watkins?
agardin replied to Mike in Syracuse's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As per bleacher report, Hundley to return to UCLA. One less possible QB that could have been drafted ahead of the 9 slot. -
I think Levy had a saying 'when it's too tough for them, it's just right for us'. Whoever adopts that attitude will win. Coughlin's face new that a few years ago.

I got the niners -2.5 Should be a good one

Colts Elevate Da'Rick Rogers to the Active Roster
agardin replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wasn't at any of the camp practices but I remember listening to Pat Kirwan on Sirius and he couldn't stop raving about him. Apparently he was making circus catches and at one point made a catch with his knees on top of a standing defender. That doesn't sound like a guy that was disinterested and lazy. One practice, maybe. We will never really know why he was cut. Could be attitude, could be Hogan and others had a great camp and the Bills choose to reward them at the expense of longer term potential. Who knows. I do know I would like to have Rodgers on my team today. -
The Top 10 Coldest games in Bills history
agardin replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was at the number 1 game on the list. It was brutal but so much fun. I had to wait in line at will call for the entire first half until they just opened up the gates and let people in to find seats wherever they could. I will always remember the guy in front of me pulling out his bottle of jack through his coat and frozen long beard to pass around. All he said was 'your going to need this', good times. -
Your ideal starting 22 in 2014
agardin replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The TE/big receiver that interests me is Devin Funchess who is going into his junior year. I only saw him a couple of times but when I see a guy that big running reverses from the TE position it does spark my interest. He is listed at 235 but could get bigger. Am I off on him? -
Your ideal starting 22 in 2014
agardin replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Seeing your starting 22, does this team make the playoffs, in other words is this team 4 wins better. I think it could but it will come down to EJ improving and making the skill guys more productive.
