  1. I was never impressed by Marrone. Although his record this year was an improvement the team failed when push came to shove. The loss against the Raiders being a prime example. He seemed out of his depth and a bit of a blowhard. Finding a replacement shouldn't be too difficult. Finding a QB that will make the next coach successful may prove to be problematic.
  2. I actually have to make this call in my keeper fantasy league and can keep only one. I may have Wilsons game last night stuck in my head but that was as impressive as I have seen a QB play. He doesn't get credit for the SB win but throwing no picks during the play off run and making big plays are a huge reason why the Seahawks won it all. Very tough call though.
  3. Agreed. Someone has to take the snaps though. Make a deal for Brees.
  4. Admittedly not a murderers row of talent. They might be the only options on the table along with EJ 2.0
  5. I'm not a fan of Sanchez but the Butt Fumble play is way overblown. The online man was blown back on the play, could have happened to anyone. It's a big deal because it was the final nail on the coffin of his tenure as the Franchise or whatever he was called. Not to encroach on other threads but whom would you rather have? Orton Sanchez Foles Cutler
  6. The truth is no one knows. He was put in to start as a rookie on a brutal team with no help. He did ok for a rookie but he had a severe fumble problem and I am sure playing with a d bag like Steve Smith wasn't easy for a young kid. I am cheering for him, from the dustbin to starter would be a nice story.
  7. Old school, are your real name initials O.Q.
  8. Cutler has looked awful but it looks like receivers are running the wrong routes, the line is a mess, they can't seem to run the ball and there is a total failure to compete. The whole thing is a mess. i wouldn't go for Cutler but understand why the Bills might. I would spend on Hughes, Dareus and the O line. Coach up EJ and have him fight it out with Orton next year. If a cheaper upgrade QB comes along and EJ is truly finished then do that as well. Not perfect but the Bills have limited options. I am pulling for Claussen, I hope he lights it up and that he has been carrying bricks in the offseason to strengthen those hands. He was put in a brutal situation in Carolina but he did also fumble a ton. Meaningful games in December sure feels great....Go Bills.
  9. For what it is worth, Mike Leach was on Sirius and stated this Cook is the guy he would want. Leach was a good interview, I can see why he got fired, too candid.
  10. Having watched that game today I am tempted to say Manning is finished and that he looks injured. I know his brain makes up for quite a bit but if he has to play in weather in January I will be betting against him.
  11. I am heading down with my Dad and Brother for a golf weekend. We didn't really have a destination until I saw that the Bills were playing Miami in mid November so South Florida it is. I have never been to Sun Life Stadium, I know it doesn't have a good reputation for being lively but this could be a pretty important game. I am super stoked to go that is for sure, GO BILLS.
  12. I don't think he will be back. I think he will sign elsewhere and have a long and productive career. Change of pace and scat back for the Seahawks makes sense to me. Lynch and Spiller in the same backfield would also be ironic.
  13. I suppose the calculation is that the Jets pay him the 6 and change for this year. He either works out and earns his salary or is cut. Looks like the guaranteed portion would be almost covered by the end of this year.
  14. The Bills need Jameis to screw up one more time. Maybe in a car with a buddy who is busted for pot maybe speeding. That would do it. Golson has a very good arm. Obviously athletic, he has made some poor throws this season but he is an intriguing prospect. We will see how the season plays out. If ND do well tonight and end up in the playoffs he may mock in the second round or maybe even first. He will eat the combine and pro days that is for sure.
  15. The problem with trades is that they are never for fair value. Say you trade Spiller, my guess is that the Bills would get maybe a 3rd for him. Why bother, the 3rd rounder has less than 50 50 chance being on your team in 3 years. Sign him for reasonable money and figure out how to use him.
  16. Good article. The Seahawks made a good move to clear salary and the Jets have cap room and money to burn. The guy is clearly nuts but he's a talent. Forget all of them and go Bills.
  17. His focus on the positives by saying what's Doug Jr. good at? "lighting up a room' was a great reminder to me on how people should be viewed. They look like they are enjoying themselves down in SD.
  18. Just watched the episode. Entertaining. It brought back fond memories of exciting, winning football. Best moment was, spoiler alert, when Wade said he was forced not to play Flutie and that in hindsight Flutie would have beaten the Titans. They covered RJ stats that day, they were as I remembered, crap.
  19. So you watched the Super Bowl? Or the game when the TDs were called back. There is no one that you cited that could do what he does. All great players but Harvin is a rare bird. Screens, reverses, normal routes and direct handoffs he is a threat to score every time he touches the ball. Sproles or Desean Jackson would be the closest. Your list is full of great players and certainly players that may be more valuable to their team but not as explosive, at least the way I am thinking of the word. I don't know the inside scoop but for a coach like Carrol to get rid of him there must have been problems or it could be a salary dump for an oft injured head case.
  20. He did have 3 TDs called back on one game. Harvin, when healthy, is the most explosive player in the NFL. He hasn't been healthy too often and he has had reports of not being all there mentally. A total wild card. If the Bills had picked him up I would have been happy so I can't knock the Jets. Rex and Harvin might be kindered spirits, I don't like him in the division.
  21. I think that is the whole debate. He should have kept his job as a starter in Buffalo so...... I am sure the documentary will be enlightening as to the obstacles he faced in New England and Chicago. Generally speaking NFL coaches are stubborn and unimaginative. So we are clear, I not pushing him for Canton only that he deserves more respect from Bills fans.
  22. I know he 'did enough to win' argument but truth is that until that last drive RJ looked pretty crummy. No one knows what might have happened with Flutie but considering he was better at playing football I am going to go with he might have had more success. No way to know for sure. I think that is what fuels Flutie's fans. He was clearly ripped off. He went 8 and 3 and lost in the playoff in a game that he and his team did not play well. He then goes out and wins 10 the next year to be benched. There is no argument that I have heard that will convince me thst RJ gets that start after beating an Indy team that had packed their bags. Then we have Bills supporters that compare him to Aaron Maybin? I remember that team before Flutie got to Buffalo, they were awful. I stand with I don't get the hate.
  23. No to Holmgren. Here's the truth the way I see it. Show me a hall of fame coach and I will show you a hall of fame QB. Does a great coach bring out he best in his players yes but you can't make chicken salad..... The Bills have suffered as every other team without a QB has. Is there anyone out there that can make EJ a pro bowl level player? That would solve a lot of the Bills problems.
  24. Nice...still laughing. I thought the same, short piece with a not so satisfying ending.
  25. The league figured him out? Not the way I saw it and shouldn't that blame be on the coaches who clearly didn't want him around or bother to create a playbook that might have used his talents more effectively? No they preferred their way and the utterly useless RJ. That last game of the year win against Indy was a joke and those pointing to it as evidence of RJ greatness need to give their heads a shake. Yes to the guy who said the Bills are 5 and 1 with time machine Flutie at the helm of this years Team. In today's NFL with read options and spread offense Flutue would have excelled. I am thinking Russell Wilson type of guy. My opinion. Now if they could just get time machine guards the Bills would be laughing.
