  1. Looked like that to me, he didn't come back into the game so who knows but............we have all played with guys that if they got beat it was because of an injury. There is a ton of pressure on Revis with the hold out and his incredible year last year. He got beat, I just realized something I was actually cheering for Moss.
  2. From the Blinding Glimpse of the obvious department. Trent stinks, the O line stinks, we have no TE, we have one WR of note this also makes the running game predictable and easy to stop. This team is in real trouble and is many years from being competitive. If you put Trent behind the best line in the NFL he would be a different QB, he doesn't have that luxury and will likely be sitting in a bar in a couple of years saying that if any other team other than the BIlls had drafted him he might still be in the NFL.
  3. My only problem in hiring Nix is that they claim this exhaustive search for a new GM and then lo and behold he has an office in the building. I will give him the benefit of the doubt but I don't have a ton of faith in the guys above him that gave him the job.
  4. You are right, I am not sure how long Stafford is out for, Shaun Hill isn't that bad, basically, there are no games on the Bills schedule where they would be clear favourites. Doesn't mean they won't pull off an upset here or there but..... I know it was only the first game of the year but another stinker and the Bills will be on there way to a very high draft pick next year. Play great against GB, pull off a huge upset, the team gains confidence and moves forward. The way Sanchez playing right now, maybe the Jets game is the first win of the season. (maybe we should hire that Mexican reporter to hang around the sidelines) 6-3 Bills. That would almost make my year, who else would love to see the Jets come out of Buffalo 0-4 on the season. AWESOME
  5. I know most people on this board, me included, don't see the Bills as a playoff team. If the Bills don't show a dramatic improvement against GB, it will be a long season. What would be the O/U on their first win? Like I said, if the team doesn't show something, floundering in the middle will not a be a concern. Detroit might be the first win of the season. @ Green Bay Packers 1:00 pm 09/26 @ New England Patriots 1:00 pm 10/03 NEW YORK JETS 1:00 pm 10/10 JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS 1:00 pm 10/17 BYE 10/24 @ Baltimore Ravens 1:00 pm 10/31 @ Kansas City Chiefs 1:00 pm 11/07 CHICAGO BEARS (Toronto) 1:00 pm 11/14 DETROIT LIONS 1:00 pm 11/21 @ Cincinnati Bengals 1:00 pm 11/28 PITTSBURGH STEELERS 1:00 pm 12/05 @ Minnesota Vikings 1:00 pm 12/12 CLEVELAND BROWNS 1:00 pm 12/19 @ Miami Dolphins 1:00 pm 12/26 NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS 1:00 pm 01/02 @ New York Jets 1:00 pm
  6. I think I will take GB, I look at it this way. Bills win and I will feel great, Bills lose and at least I am still in the suicide pool. The other side is, I would imagine the 99% of people will be taking GB so if you don't use this game and the Bills win you might win the entire pool in week 2. If any other game looked promising I would do it, Atlanta over Arizona is not a game I like, maybe Philly over Detroit, shaun hill is starting for the Lions I believe.
  7. I remember a couple of years ago it was a refueling plane or something. It was actually a little depressing, the fly over took awhile, F15's would be a nice upgrade.
  8. 2002 game was awesome and I recall another where, with Marino at QB, the Dolphins took several false start penalties in a row right at the end of the game because the crowd noise was deafening. They had first and goal and ended up at the bills 40 with the penalties and sacks. Does anyone remember what game I am talking about. It was a long time ago.
  9. i havent followed him since the draft, they have pettigrou (sp) so I never got why they took him. He looked good in college and we need TEs' I do like Nelson but I would think he would be a nice pick up......cheap
  10. Fargas getting cut by Denver is a little strange they aren't exactly deep at RB.
  11. Keyshawn, his book 'Give me the Damn Ball' and his massive ego. It has to be bad when the team you play for, pays you to leave and stay at home. Even in his television gig he makes my skin crawl
  12. The Pats haven't really cared about the run for several years now, they have Maroney and Fred Taylor as their backs. They haven't had a true featured back since the days of Curtis Martin, maybe Corey Dillon. It looks like that philosophy has paid off.
  13. I would have no problem if the Bills gave the kid a tryout. A weird mistake by young kid shouldn't banish him for life. I think his best move would be to pursue the UFL and if he is good enough move quietly into the NFL next season. If he can play in the UFL it would provide a glimpse to what media exposure and fan reaction might be. Also, most of the coaches in the UFL have NFL connections and would be able to vouch for his character if indeed he is a good guy.
  14. I sent you a message via the PM setting on the new board, I have never used it before so if you don't receive anything from me let me know by posting on the general board.
  15. I live in Toronto and won't be able to make the game this Saturday vs the Bengals The seats are decent Sec 107 Row 36 Seats 20 and 21 and I would like to give them away. I will even pay for the shipping costs, all you have to do is do something nice for someone today and pay it forward.
  16. A positive aspect to take from these reports is the fact that there will be quality players cut and not make it through waivers to the PS. It means that the team is getting better. It's too bad that the NFL trade maket is so illiquid because it would be nice to move some of these pieces for depth at some of our weaker areas.
  17. I have posted this before. I bought season tickets for the bills 7 games + 1 preseason game= approx 1200.00 Cdn The exact two seats for the Bills in Toronto series 1 real game + 1 preseason game=1100.00 plus fees and taxes The prices are brutual and you have to take a preseason game, which when buying a whole season you can amortize the preseason costs across all the games but 1 game? I agree with the other posters, I'd rather go to the Ralph than take the 10 minute walk to the rogers centre to watch the Bills. That is how much Rogers Centre blows. My advice, don't by angry, Ted Rodgers ( RIP) got fleeced on this deal and the Bills and Ralph are more profitable. If you have seasons tickets for the Bills, while you lose a regular season game ( sucks) you don't have to pay for an extra pre season game which, lets face it is a money grab.
  18. Unless there is a rookie salary cap in the new CBA. IMO both sides are on board with this option. If there is no rookie cap, then Sam Bradford type money of 50 million gauranteed would be the better option.
  19. Up through Bowl XLIV (2010), the winning starting quarterbacks have been: Bart Starr, Green Bay Packers - SB I Bart Starr, Green Bay Packers - SB II Joe Namath, New York Jets - SBIII Len Dawson, Kansas City Chiefs - SB IV Johnny Unitas, Baltimore Colts - SB V Roger Staubach, Dallas Cowboys - SB VI Bob Griese, Miami Dolphins - SB VII Bob Griese, Miami Dolphins - SB VIII Terry Bradshaw, Pittsburgh Steelers - SB IX Terry Bradshaw, Pittsburgh Steelers - SB X Ken Stabler, Oakland Raiders - SB XI Roger Staubach, Dallas Cowboys - SB XII Terry Bradshaw, Pittsburgh Steelers - SB XIII Terry Bradshaw, Pittsburgh Steelers - SB XIV Jim Plunkett, Oakland Raiders - SB XV Joe Montana, San Francisco 49ers - SB XVI Joe Theismann, Washington Redskins - SB XVII Jim Plunkett, Los Angeles Raiders - SB XVIII Joe Montana, San Francisco 49ers - SB XIX Jim McMahon, Chicago Bears - SB XX Phil Simms, New York Giants - SB XXI Doug Williams, Washington Redskins - SB XXII Joe Montana, San Francisco 49ers - SB XXIII Joe Montana, San Francisco 49ers - SB XXIV Jeff Hostetler, New York Giants - SB XXV Mark Rypien, Washington Redskins - SB XXVI Troy Aikman, Dallas Cowboys - SB XXVII Troy Aikman, Dallas Cowboys - SB XXVIII Steve Young, San Francisco 49ers - SB XXIX Troy Aikman, Dallas Cowboys - SB XXX Brett Favre, Green Bay Packers - SB XXXI John Elway, Denver Broncos - SB XXXII John Elway, Denver Broncos - SB XXXIII Kurt Warner, St. Louis Rams - SB XXXIV Trent Dilfer, Baltimore Ravens - SB XXXV Tom Brady, New England Patriots - SB XXXVI Brad Johnson, Tampa Bay Buccaneers - SB XXXVII Tom Brady, New England Patriots - SB XXXVIII Tom Brady, New England Patriots - SB XXXIX Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh Steelers - SB XL Peyton Manning, Indianapolis Colts - SB XLI Eli Manning, New York Giants - SB XLII Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh Steelers - SB XLIII Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints - SB XLIV Just to add context to your post, there are a lot of number 1s and likely a few more first rounders. I agree that we need a franchise QB, hopefully the bills will be able to get one next year. IMO the team needs to change the losing culture and when drafting next year, if we can get players like Matt Ryan or Joe Flacco ( both are future SB caliber qbs ) with something other than number #1 overall picks then that is the way to go.
  20. 'You play to win the game' Inevitably when a new regime comes in to take over a team they always talk in terms of changing the culture that led to the previous regime's failures. The team needs to do whatever it takes to win and win immediately. Your players ( assets ) are worth more and can be moved, FA's see the team as one that is on the rise and one that is worth signing with. The team in general develops and gels together with wins and when the culture changes from ' winning in the NFL is hard' to we 'expect to win each and every Sunday' the team will be a serious contender. IMO it is pretty simple, success begets success If that means making astute picks at #7 or #9 instead of #1 overall and then filling in the blanks with strategic FAs then that is what has to be done. If the current regime can't do that then the Bills will continue their playoff drought
  21. I live in TO and the ticket prices are in insane, I bought season tickets for the bills for around 1200.00 and two similar seats at the rogers centre is 1100.00 for two games one of which is a preseason game. The NFL is huge in toronto, that I can gaurantee you. The TV ratings are massive, especially given that the city doesn't have it's own team. http://thestar.blogs.com/sportsmedia/2010/...--1-nfl-vi.html I want the Bills to stay in Buffalo and would much rather drive for a couple of hours enjoy some good tailgaiting and see a team in an outdoor stadium in the elements than the masoleum that is the Rogers Centre. It is awful. I don't think the economy is a factor, ticket prices are the real culprit, how many tickets would the Bills sell if they charged those prices in Buffalo. Probably a few but it would be less than the current number that is for sure.
  22. He was drafted as a project, so it shouldn't be a surprise that it may take a couple of years to see him develop. I guess that is the problem with him, the fans wanted a playmaker that had the best chance to contribute right away given the overall lack of talent on the team. I am really pulling for him, if he doesn't play to the level of his draft status it won't be due to poor work ethic or attitude. It looks like he will be a situational pass rusher for the Bills this year, hey, if he can do that well it is a step in the right direction into making him a 3 down player. I am reserving the B label for at least one more year. Year 3 will determine whether this was a poor pick, IMO
  23. I started this thread last night hoping to get more information. Bills on Sirius NFL Network Gailey current take on the Bills Last post was 12:08 am
  24. The Bills are easily the best value for major professional sports in North America. Same seats in the Jets stadium are 110.00 more per pair and have 12K per seat Lic fee. I guess it is good that you can pay 2400 and change a year on their payment plan. What a deal. This is just the seats, I can only imagine what a beer might cost. Be thankful for what we got, it may not have sushi or premium beers on tap but it is outdoors ( I've been to several Lions games and while nicely appointed, it is like watching a football at a mall) and cheap.
  25. If someone else posted something similar, I do apologize, I didn't see it. I just got in the car and I only caught the end of the discussion with CG but here is what I picked up Maybin right now is a specialist one down pash rusher and that he has work to do in order to be a full time starter. He did seem excited about the one job he has right now. The O line is still a work in progress and that the passing offense will have to be based around the protection strengths ( nothing new there) The fact that he is new means that that no one is a lock as a starter. If a player was #1 on the depth chart he will have to prove himself to the new staff and that every position is open to competition. He commented that he doesn't really need more motivation than that and that if a player can't get that then they won't be playing. I must admit, I liked what he had to say and the southern drawl drips football Like I said, I missed most of the interview and they don't have a schedule for when it might repeat later in the evening. If anyone caught more of it and would like to add I would appreciate it.
