  1. I love it, not a Sabres fan but love going to Sabres games and would love to see them do well. I have posted in the past that I believe that spending money in scouting and player development would actually save Ralph money in the long run. Replace soon to be FA with younger, cheaper players or actually have pro scouts that can find secong tier FAs that will excel in the system that the Bills are using. Use the savings to lock up key positions and repeat. See the Steelers or New England for the blueprint.
  2. Its actually pretty nice stuff and unique. Good for him.
  3. When I first clicked on the link I was reminded of an older Elisabeth Moss http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0005253/ so the answer is yes
  4. I actually remember the Bills complained about it and then adopted it as their own. I did find this article from 89 but I don't feel like going through the free trial for the site. You get this idea here, Marv didn't like the no huddle because of the substitution rules and didn't run the no huddle prior to playing the Bengals but after that they moved to it. At least that is how I remember it. http://www.highbeam.com/doc/1P2-1167173.html
  5. Feeling a little dumb, I tried but I cant figure it out either.
  6. Even worse for me, Habs fan, but would love to see the Sabres competitive and winning. I love going down to watch games, great fans and a great rink.
  7. I guess knowing and doing are two different things. You are right, most teams likely know that this is the way to go but they can't get the culture to change and the players buy in to winning methods. Once a regime fails after the first couple of years they are fired. There is a reason why it is called the Steelers way or the Patriots way and not the Bills way unfortunately. I am hopeful that Gailey is on the right track and it does seem as the team is rallying around him. Gotta have hope I guess.
  8. good read, it goes to show the importance of having an identity and then finding players that fit, instead of constantly changing head coaches and schemes. I remember when Tomlin was hired. He was asked if he would bring his Vikings defense with him and he said no, he would defer to Lebeau's expertise and it certainly has paid off.
  9. I think it will be a first rounder and depending where in the first round maybe a 3rd or something like that. The reality is there are going to quite a few teams that would love Kolb over any other QB in this years draft, he is ready to play, understands the NFL and has shown some real talent at this level. RJ 2.0 isn't even close in my mind, right now I would say Schaub 2.0 with the possibility of an upgrade to the Aaron Rodgers 2.0 (which is a really high ceiling at this point). Given where the Bills are in the draft a 2nd and 3rd would be about right. Should the Bills go that route? I don't know, given the holes on the team and having Fitzpatrick already in the fold, perhaps a 2nd or 3rd QB selection with the idea of that person coming in and learning for the few years may make more sense. I was on board for Kolb in the early stage of the season and even started a thread about it but Fitz may have bought himself some time.
  10. You maybe right, I remembered him as a top 5 to 10 wr in the league, maybe it was NY hype because the stats say otherwise. Some good years in there but he is now 33. He may come out of jail super hungry and willing to go through brick walls or something so you never know. http://www.nfl.com/players/plaxicoburress/profile?id=BUR595691
  11. If Plaxico passes a physical and wants to come in and try out I would have no problem with that. I actually feel sorry for the guy.
  12. If you don't have holy water, simply collect a bucket from Tom Brady's shower stall. I was pulling for the Pats but I think it was because I bet the over and I wanted to see a really big finish. If push did come to shove I would pick the Patriots over the Jets. Not sure why? I did make my skin crawl to see the Jets doing the jet plane dance after they won so maybe that type of stuff is the reason.
  13. As a Notre Dame fan I am glad that Floyd is coming back, he had a great bowl game against Miami and his stock should be higher for next years draft.
  14. I thought it would be close that is why I took the Seahawks and the points but I never thought they might actually win.
  15. I am not saying that these attendance figures will interfere with the Bills draft plans but....... Plenty of teams have fired coaches, signed FA and drafted certain players in order to sell tickets. The only player with that type of cache is Newton. Given the attendance figures, it wouldn't shock me if that was the pick. More jerseys, more buzz, more seats and ulitmately more money. There were plenty of people that thought the Jags would draft Tebow, they resisted, will the Bills?
  16. Dante won a co MVP award, blew out his knee and was never the same. But your point is well taken, there aren't many examples
  17. It am not defending Modrak as he has culpability in the Bills draft record but he was never the GM, President or owner of the team. The Bills do well in the UDFA and lower round picks and he should get some credit for that. He is also not responsible for poor coaching hires and likely not the guy who picked names off the board. He has had his input and if it were me I would have resigned if I were constantly being ignored on my suggested draft picks. He hasn't resigned so I guess he must have some guilt in the debacle that has been the Bills draft record. I am hoping that Nix takes ownership of the entire personnel process from drafts to FAs and will make the right choices that fit his plan. I really pray that is what happens or else it will be rinse and repeat 2 seasons from now.
  18. I think multiple fronts is the way to go. NE does it, the D line guys need to be rotated anyways so why not do it through multiple personel packages. It does allow you to draft the BPA on D and know that they will be on the field. If the Bills end up playing one front better than the other that formation will become the de facto D in time.
  19. I actually thought Kelsay played well down the stretch, he was in on a bunch more plays. It was the move back to more 43 fronts that really helped him. If it is going to be the 34 as a base defense he really doesn't fit as he proved at the beginning of the season.
  20. Locker is going to move up the boards once he runs and throws against air at the combine. I think if he slides to the second round and can sit behind Fitz for a couple of years that wouldn't be a bad thing.
  21. If he wants a HC gig he might have to build his rep back up by building a killer D in the NFL again. If he is holding out for a HC job it will be one with a lower profile than PITT and that can't be an attractive option for him.
  22. I don't disagree but it does depend on if that true franchise player is there. If Luck comes out and is gone do the Bills draft Mallett, Newton or Locker? The latter three will move up if they all declare. Newton and Locker will as I would expect they will have excellent workouts ( Mallett is already a top 15 pick) I really don't like picking a guy after they have excellent work outs. McKelvin and Maybin would be good examples of that. The only guy that I have seen shoot up the charts after a great combine and be worth it was Flacco. I guess there are probably others. It is going to be a tough off season for the front office, if they whiff on the number 3 pick it will be devasting. Kinda like all of the Bills misses in the last decade.
