  1. Which is exactly why I ended the argument with you because your stance is absolutely a joke. You gotta be trolling to make that outlandish claim.... The premise of your post is that Fitz can throw a decent deep ball. Your reply to teams pressing our WRs and taking away the short passes wHile not respecting our deep ball was to blame the WRs. I think the disrespect was for Fitz's lack of deep arm. Did I address your post well enough? Or was I being obtuse?
  2. Well said. Stating he can throw the deep ball better than Edwards is not exactly a ringing endorsement.
  3. My point in all of this is my belief that Fitz, even with a better team, cannot get us to a Superbowl. I am not naive enough to think a QB will solve all the ills of this franchise. My point is and will always be that even with a better supporting cast, Fitz will not take us to a championship. If you took Fitz and Eli and reversed teams, no way the Giants have two more rings. I am all about getting a better defense and having a kick ass pass rush, but the game has evolved to a point where you need a franchise QB to win. PDad welcomed a criteria we can look to on paper and say this guy is elite and this guy is not. Football and quarterbacking is so much more complex than that. It's not baseball, where one guy puts up stats and his value revolves around that. So many intangibles are involved. So by the criteria mentioned, Eli would not fall into the franchise / elite bracket. This is why I refused to quantify elite. There are so many more factors than numbers. If anyone truly believes Eli Manning is not an elite QB, then I don't know what else to say. The two rings, his ability to win in the fourth quarter and his intangibles say different. I know we have many needs. I'd love us to be aggressive and upgrade at QB. I think it shows players in the league that we are turning a corner which may lure them here. I remember a pretty decent FA named Reggie White signing with the Packers in 93. Yeah, their offer was the most lucrative, but I wonder if having a young Brett Favre helped make that decision. If we win with Fitz, I will be the first to state I am wrong, a statement I have made here at least a half dozen times. I just don't see it happening.
  4. And this. Take away Eli's two rings and.....oh wait. Nevermind. Lololol
  5. Andy Reid loves his backs catching balls, pun intended.
  6. Yeah, but what stats make him a franchise QB? Lol.
  7. I'd continue this battle of wits, but you're only half-armed.
  8. I can guarantee I have never been sold on Fitz. I enjoyed the little early season ride until reality set in.
  9. I mean the Eli with two SB rings earned through two fourth quarter comebacks. However, you can side with PDad, who just stated he'd take Fitz over Eli.
  10. Then here's hoping they get an Eli Manning.
  11. I'd buy it, but then I'd fail to live up to te expectations of my neighbors.
  12. You know, Gabbert has looked horrible, but I'll wait til I see a career before calling him a bust. He may never get better and the pundits will be proven wrong, but Del Rio was not what I'd call a QB's dream as a head coach.
  13. I don't think I'd take him and expect him to run except when the pocket breaks down. All reports state he has a cannon arm, can make every throw with accuracy and has a commanding presence in the huddle. That's the kind of guy I want. I think Fitz has a number of fantastic qualities, but making every throw and consistently accurate beyond 20 yards are not two of them. If they were, I would not even enter into this debate.
  14. Wasn't that after Plax owned the Packers in the playoffs? Then scored the winning TD vs the Pats? Reach.
  15. Sure...could work. However, I submit this: players who want to play for "winners" are more likely to go to a team with a QB who gives them a chance to win. This makes you more competitive in free agency and able to plug holes quicker. An elite QB is he most important brick to a foundation of winning. I have never heard that description when speaking of Fitz. Great analysis.
  16. If we had a chance to grab an RG III, yeah, I'd roll the dice.
  17. I apologize for not enjoying our annual 6 or fewer win seasons.
  18. Unwarranted apology, IMO, but classy nonetheless.
  19. I don't "hate" Fitz and I certainly don't hate the Bills. I am sure Fitz is an awesome guy. I just billieve that the playoff drought will be extended to years 13 and 14 with him as our starter and I will continue to voice that opinion until I am proved wrong. As for hating on the organization, I think 12 years without a playoff berth warrants questions about the way they are run and the decisions they make, don't you think? Your thought process is to clap your hands, say "go team" and accept the mediocrity that has permeated the organization. My thought process is to critique the team and its players When they consistently achieve at an unacceptable level. As I have stated numerous times, I will be the first to praise Fitz if he puts together a playoff year. I just don't see it happening, no matter how much I would like to.
  20. So, by your logic, the fact I think Eli and Rodgers are great QBs I wish we had, I should be a Giants or Packers fan? That's a ridiculous statement. If you come on here and state an opinion, be prepared to defend it. If your feelings will be hurt by someone who disagrees with you, then I suggest you take YOUR thin skin and go elsewhere.
  21. I've been away for two days and, predictably, PDaD has done exactly what I said would happen in the second post of this thread. I saw a comparison to Cam Newton (really?) and the predictable excuses that everyone throws out all the time. Perhaps Fitz did indeed get the ball out quickly. I have not seen the data. I suppose when you are inaccurate beyond 15 yards, you are bound to throw the short routes more often. The question I pose to all is this: do you ever see Fitz winning a ring as a starting QB? If the answer is no, then we require an upgrade. (if you answered yes, then your football knowledge is limited or you are just plain stupid) Specifically to PDaD: I love the Bills, want them to win a SB and will be the first to state I was wrong if Fitz gets us to the playoffs or plays to that level for a season. I will also be the first to say, "I told you so" when he doesn't.
  22. Ahhh yes...if only they handed out playoff spots on October 1st.
  23. However, I will point out that at 10, there is no way we can pick a QB. Unless we trade up to pick in the top 2, we have to hope that we luck out on a late round pick to be the successor.
