  1. In Canada, we had to wait until Tuesday for the USA today to check stats from Sunday.
  2. I find myself watching a lot more this year. I enjoy the parity in the league and there have been a lot of great finishes, Bills vs. Titans notwithstanding.
  3. Fitz is like a rookie pitcher. Sure, he may strike out the side the first time through the rotation, but later on hitters are going to adjust. Defenses know his limitations with the deep ball and have adjusted. I just wish Buddy had waited until the second time through the lineup before offering that contract.
  4. Fitz gave them the ball 60 yards away from the end zone. They don't have the ball, they don't score. Or is that above your head?
  5. Fitz made a wrong read and a horrible throw on that INT. It's too bad the Fitz lovers are myopic and don't understand football.
  6. Yep. Read it incorrectly. However, why should I have to "deal"? You are saying that it's ok to have a QB who cannot win in the last minute because our defense sucks. But what the hell, it's the Bills and we've not seen the playoffs this century, so that's ok. Fitz is a lunch bucket guy! He represents us! I'd submit there are $60 million reasons he should not be choking in big games, regardless of our horrendous defense. He's not paid to make an ill-fated, game-changing decision.
  7. If you bothered to read the post I was responding to, the author states five TD drives. Look it up. The facts are the defense were not worth two cents. That's never been disputed by anyone. Therefore we are discussing the pick Fitz threw. That's reality. To say that I am absolving the defense of blame for their crappy performance is absurd. But the QB still has to make the play in that situation. He didn't. In the Jets / Pats* game, Brady made the plays after his defense and ST's almost cost the game. He played with the hand he was dealt. I wish Fitz would do the same.
  8. First of all, it was four drives, unless Fitz apologists want to take credit for the Brad Smith TD return. In terms of comparing him to the QB's you mentioned, I'd say no, I expect him to act the opposite of those guys and he lived up to expectations. What I don't get is that people seem to want to put a limit on blame for this team's shortcomings. "It's all on the defense, don't blame Fitz!" "It was the play call, don't blame Fitz!" "If George Wilson catches that INT, we win!" It is on the defense and it was a brutal play call and Wilson should have caught that ball. But the fact remains, when we needed him most, Fitz choked. You make the argument yourself when you make the 5 year old analogy, which suggests giving Fitz (the 5 year old) any responsibility a normal NFL QB would have (like throwing the football) is an irresponsible thing to do. He is an NFL QB, a QB that many here have labelled as a good starter. If he is so good, why not give him the keys to the car? Just once I'd like people here to admit that he blew it. His decision gave the Titans the ball and put them in a position to win. Was it a brutal call? Sure. Should we have run the ball and bleeded the clock? Probably. However we didn't and Fitz did not execute. Plain and simple. I don't debate the defense sucks. Nobody here does...read the posts and show me where anybody supports this defense. They are historically brutal. But to ignore Fitz's role in this loss is putting your head in the sand. So yeah, I have the nerve to go after Fitz as well as the defense. Great analogy.
  9. What also bothered me was the horrendous use of time outs in the first half. Really? Run a play, TO, run a play, TO, run a play, TO? Do we even practice the 2:00 drill? Does Chan figure our defense and Fitz suck so bad we will never need it? Pretty obvious both sides need work in that dept.
  10. Hey, wake the eff up! Nobody is arguing about how the D sucked! They were horrible! But they stopped Ten on 4th down and Fitz GAVE them the ball back!
  11. Agreed. But that INT came at the worst time. Take the incompletion and punt.
  12. I don't think anyone is arguing about the defense. Anyone. You CAN have more than one thing wrong with a team. You were saying?
  13. It doesn't get a pass because NOBODY here thinks they are good, therefore NO ARGUMENT. As for Fitz, endless debate. I'll take his effort so far today every Sunday and not complain. Edit: the one time in my life I give the guy some praise, he effs us again. Man I hate having Fitz as our QB.
  14. I get every Seattle game and watched him last year. He was pretty terrible until about week 12, then things kinda clicked and I thought he wasn't that bad. I think his TD:INT ration was 7:2 in the last 5 games. Not great TD #s, but a decent ratio.
  15. Along with a ton of hardcore football fans who know the game and coach at various levels. And I'm not trying to change your mind. I realize the futility of such a venture.
  16. False perception? There are 31 other teams in this league and besides possibly the Chiefs, there is not a fan base that would be happy if they signed Fitz as a FA right now. Take off the Bills' coloured glasses and understand that outside of 5 games last season, Fitzpatrick has not shown to be even an adequate NFL QB on a consistent basis. I don't live in Buffalo or near WNY. I do not have any Bills' fan acquaintances where I live...instead they all cheer for other teams. I ask the question a lot and not one person would support his team signing Fitz as a FA right now. If I were a fan of another team, I'd agree with them.
  17. Agreed. I despise him as a QB, but he takes full responsibility for his play. I admire that.
  18. I strongly disagree with that statement. He simply cannot throw the ball deep with accuracy or any consistency. His limited arm strength means he has to throw his whole body into throws, no matter where on the field, which limits accuracy. In this league, you need to be accurate because the available windows are small. He's not.
  19. Though an O's fan, I loved the Expos as well. I stayed home from school to watch them against the Dodgers in 1980 (I believe) and cried when Rick Monday hit that homer off Steve Rogers. 1994 was a travesty. That was as good a team as there has been in the history of baseball. You're right when you say they had it all. I submit that baseball would still be in Montreal if that season played out.
  20. PFT stated they dropped 5.
  21. Good post. Totally agree.
