Yes, it has bottomed out to the point that everytime someone gets cut by another team, no matter how truly awful they are, people here want to immediately acquire him. This is what happens when you haven't seen the playoffs this century.

The guy had an 11-0 TD-INT ratio in the playoffs, won three road games, is a SB champion and MVP, yet you are saying we are overreacting because his team won? That check off and back shoulder throw in the 4th quarter on 3rd and 1 was an amazing, confident audible and a great throw. Your sweetheart Pickspatrick could only dream of making that throw in any quarter, let alone the 4th in a close game. Perhaps career won - loss record, consistent inconsistency in the 4th quarter, a complete lack of accuracy beyond ten yards, a horrendous yards per pass attempt number, a weak arm that causes him to overcompensate with his body, causing severe accuracy issues, a propensity to throw damning INTs in the 4th quarter, inaccuracy over the middle which puts receivers in an awkward position to gain yac, the fact defenses dare him to beat them deep, which he is unable to do, the fact he never has and never will QB a team to the playoffs and absolute confidence that in any 4th quarter situation with he game on the line he will, somehow, fu** it up. Need more? Conversely, I'm curious as to what empirical evidence you have that Fitz does not suck.

Hate to burst the bubbles of the egos here, but the NFL does not give a crap what middle aged guys think about the half time show, nor should they. You'll watch the game anyhow...it's the younger and female demographics that count. My wife enjoyed it immensely as did her friends. I didn't mind watching it myself....

That's the beauty of the site though, isn't it? Writer A pens an article which Reader B takes exception to and elicits an emotional response or starts a debate? That's why we are on this board, for God's sake. I question Simmons' motives in the article, especially in light of the Pats* loss to the Ravens, but he makes many valid and interesting points I agree with. To dismiss an entire site based on your disagreeing with one article's premise is, IMO, a fairly shallow take.

My take as well, hence my questioning the timing of it all (beyond the obvious retirement, Superbowl connections). If Lewis was on the Patriots, no way that article is written. For something not worth reading, you seemed to take a lot of interest in what Barnwell wrote. I enjoy the site, despite Simmons' fawning over all things Boston. Of course AP was clean. He plays in the NFC.

Saying its great to be a Bills fan because we're not Cleveland is like saying I'm glad Fitz is our QB instead of Ryan Lindley. Yeah, it may be mildly better, but it still really sucks 96% of the time.

More excuses as to why this 7th round, career backup isn't great? Here's a theory: he has a weak arm, is inaccurate and makes questionable 4th quarter decisions.
