And that's the flaw...I'd rather our new QB be compared to the playoff QB's rather than just the SB winning QB. Obviously the playoff QB's have a winning team, as many have pointed out here ad nauseum, but the question is, can you put "Player A" on a team and expect a similar result? Or does "Player A" elevate his team to make them what they are? I'd certainly say Flacco fit that bill in the SB run, but I'd also submit that Kaepernick, Rodgers, RG III, Luck, etc. were equally important to getting their teams to the prize. So, can any of these rookie QB's do that? I'm not so sure. Also, don't discount the system QB's will play in. Flacco lit it up once they dumped Cam Cameron because Caldwell called for deeper routes which played to Flacco's strength. The Redskins changed their entire offense to play to RG III's strengths. Heck, the Bills even got rid of the deep ball because Fitz is simply incapable of completing it. I hope our next QB has the physical tools to win, but I also hope he has the intangibles and leadership qualities to win. I don't know a lot about the QB's coming out (yet), but I do know that I see zero fire from Landry Jones and I like what EJ Manuel brings to the table. How these guys do as pros remains to be seen.

Check my history. Never have I said it was the right move. In fact, quite the opposite. Read my post about the pile of sh*t above. Pretty much sums up how I've felt about Fitz his whole career.

If someone takes a dump on the sidewalk, it's a pile of sh*t. Someone responsible for taking care of such dilemmas can come along and say, "Well, it's here, I may as well as make it look good", and proceed to put some lovely flowers around it. That will never change the fact it's still a pile of sh*t in the middle of the sidewalk. Now, the same worker can take a shovel, scrape off the mess and remove it completely. Eventually the stain that's left behind will disappear and be forgotten. Fitz is our pile of sh*t on the sidewalk. Buddy put it there by signing him to that ridiculous contract. Take out the shovel, remove the pile and move on. The stain that is the Fitz contract will eventually be forgotten.

I see the words "I believe" on here way too often. It's awesome that you have your opinion as to what you think will happen, but I'd love analysis as to why you believe this. Then, perhaps, I can put some merit into your belief system and engage in meaningful debate instead of wasting time at work writing this response.

And if it warrants a few million more, so be it.

And after watching him since that contract was signed (as well as looking at his career "accomplishments"), I would have been ecstatic for him to be someone else's problem. Maybe then we would have been forced to select a QB in the most QB rich draft in a decade rather than the weakest QB draft in a decade.

The benefit as I see it is not sitting through another season of 4th quarter INTs, zero passing game beyond 10 yards and an incessant amount of insane arguments on this board with people you'd swear were related to Fitz somehow, some way. This x a lot.

Getting back to the original topic, I admire the hell out of Belicheck, Brady and Kraft. I hate them because they are perennial champs in our division, but one cannot deny the success and competitive fire they bring to the game. I'm jealous. I wish it were us.

It doesn't matter if they are all first rounders. If the QB cannot get them the ball, it is a moot point. By your logic, Arizona's QB's should have been great since they were throwing to Fitzgerald and Michael Floyd, who are both first rounders, with Fitzgerald being one of the best in the game. They were horrible. Sometimes the QB just isn't good, bobo. Such is the case with the Bills.

Anyone have a breakdown of Fitz's 4th quarter stats in close games? Just going to take a shot here, but I'm guessing they aren't all that impressive. However, the guy can apparently eat a lot of steak in one sitting and he did go to Harvard, allegedly.

This. I have always thought it insane that people talk about our receivers yet, on many, many occassions, those same "loser" receivers were open and the QB did not get them the ball. Throw in the fact that he could not throw deep to save his life, it adds up to a sh*t sandwich. Time for a completely new menu.

Sigh. If Fitz cannot win games taking all the snaps with the first team, how does that translate to him being a solid backup? Bobo and his merry band of stats keepers seemed to disappear in the latter part of the season. You know, that time period where it was apparent we were on our way to yet another 6 win season. Yet now that the rotting stench of Pickspatrick's performances are two months removed, here they are again. Incredible. Fitz did nothing to show he can take any team to the playoffs. No fan base in this league will jump for joy if the Bills cut Fitz and their team signs him. Oh sure, there will be some stat guys who can try and put him on par with winning QBs, but the wins and losses don't lie. Every time the Bills were in the game in the fourth with Fitz having a chance to win, people knew he would not do it. When an entire fan base knows this about your QB, it's time to move on. Cut the chord. I will never look back and say, "Man, I wish we had kept Fitz." It is time to move on from that fiasco.

How any wins has your average QB averaged as a Bill? Just curious because the Fitz backers who were non existent here for the last half of the season are seeming to feel quite comfortable coming out of the woodwork now. #noplayoffsthiscentury'lldothattoyou

If this is true, I will throw up in my mouth then punch someone. And as to being a hater, yes, I admit it. I HATE Ryan Fitzpatrick quarterbacking this team.

Not saying we should sign Canty, but whoever does will not be paying him anywhere near $6.5 million. I also think another RB is a necessity. Whether that's Bradshaw or not, depends on his health and asking price.
