  1. You have to beat the people on your schedule. Period. December is tough, but good teams put up or shut up and don't make excuses.
  2. You want Sunday or Monday night games? End the damn playoff drought and become relevant again.
  3. I agree. None of us care enough to put forth that much effort.
  4. I agree with the premise of BPA, but there are so many other factors involved, especially in a specialized sport like football. To me, having just won my first championship as a coach after being so close many times, it comes down to up front. We can have all the bells and whistles we want, but if we aren't strong up front, we're not a championship team. In the NFL, you need to win in the trenches. I have often stated it starts with the QB, and I will not undermine the importance of that, but even Brady and Manning struggle when not protected.
  5. If I am one of the QB needy teams, I'd be very leery of passing up a QB only to have a run on them late in the first by teams with ageing QBs. I would have to have that second tier of QBs ranked close to the top 3, or suck it up and pull the trigger early.

  7. I look forward to the day we have a legitimate QB and threads like this cease to exist. Please, EJ, get the job done.
  8. I found it. Great read. http://www.buffalobills.com/news/article-3/ON-THE-CLOCK-Kikos-story---drafting-a-rookie-of-the-year/649f6e87-c0df-47ab-8809-aea37aa86909
  9. Link? I'd love to read it.
  10. I would submit our ignoring the OL in the draft would be a colossal mistake. The heart and soul is the OL. Ask Brady. History has shown he is nowhere near as effective when he is pressured consistently (See SB loss to the Giants). You win and lose up front. The only way I do not go OT is if Watkins, Evans or Manziel are on the board. Then I have the debate in the war room. It would be tough to take Lewan over any of those three, but I hope we go OL heavy this draft.
  11. Amen. Pick winners who have shown they can rise to the occasion week in and week out against solid competition.
  12. I respect that opinion. And I guess that's the beauty of The Wall. Opinions are all across the spectrum as to what moves the Bills should or should not make. Sometimes we hit, sometimes we miss. The fact there is a thread dedicated to this topic rightly suggests the Bills have missed a lot in the past 14 years. I, for one, like Whaley and hope he's the GM we have been waiting for.
  13. I had WTF moments with Maybin, Whitner, the panic pick in Losman and the trade up and pick I may hate the most: McCargo. However, those were previous regimes. I need to see more of EJ to be sold, but if we continue to build the offensive line and pick solid building blocks, we will be fine. The problem with previous regimes is that I often thought they tried to be too cute and reached for need rather than picking the BPA. While I agree with you 100% on your assessment of height, I respectfully disagree on Murray. I haven't seen the leadership I want from my QB. He doesn't seem to rally the troops when things go south. I admit my knowledge is limited and I don't see everything, but I just don't see the "it" factor from Murray.
  14. You mean like Marvin Harrison?
  15. I assume you have New England's bye in Week 10?
  16. Link? Your description of Matthews is exactly why you would take him at 9. When, in the last 14 years, have we had the OL we would have by adding Matthews? Build the line. Give your young QB protection and rely on the running game with your one - two punch at RB. If the #9 pick yields what you say Matthews will be, I'm ok with that.
  17. I remember a cannon armed QB named Ryan Leaf....I wonder what happened to that lad......
  18. Just seeing if we are on the same page. We are. Except where "comedic" value comes into play.
  19. You bet. One more question, though: thoughts on Richard Sherman?
  20. So tell me then, Campy, what's your take on Trump owning the Bills? Would you bail ship like your little bro, or would you remain a Bills fan regardless of the ownership situation (as long as they remained in Buffalo)?
  21. Actually, the fact he stated he would seriously consider not cheering for the Bills if Trump became owner is why he must not be a real fan. The 59 post comment was for comedic value, but obviously that fact eluded you. /not sarcasm
