  1. Here are EJ's highlights through the first 6 games: http://vimeo.com/83598606 If this was your only exposure to him, you'd probably think he was pretty damn good. For some balance, here's every pass attempt from the Falcons game: http://vimeo.com/80948180
  2. Druckenmiller is a good guess. I know he was interested in buying the Steelers since he's from Pittsburgh, but I wonder if his interest would extend to other teams. Well, there's also the LA guys (Roski and Anschultz) who might be content waiting til the lease is up- especially with the NFL talking about building their own stadium in anticipation of a team moving there. There's also the Twinkie/PBR guy (Metrouplous) who may be bidding on his own or as a part of a group. There's Jeffrey Gundlach who will likely at least make an initial bid. Robert Rich will probably make an initial bid as well - I don't recall him saying that he wouldn't but maybe he did and I forgot. Same with Scott Congel- it doesn't hurt to throw your hat in the ring. I know George Gillett said he won't be making a bid, and neither will Jeremy Jacobs. I think that's everyone who as been mentioned publicly. There are some more locals that haven't been mentioned but might interested: Chris Koch, Barry Snyder, Randy Benderson and Jordan Levy, to name a few. I don't know that any of them individually could buy the team on their own, but each could be a part of a group. That still leaves a few mystery suitors, but everything that I've heard points to Pegula running away with it. His only real competition is from an unnamed group with one member who "prints money." My "source" doesn't know who that is (or won't say), but that seems consistent with what other insiders on this board have revealed, as well as some teases in the media. Another thing that isn't really a secret that I've heard is that the trust and the NFL aren't interested in parties that would move the team even after the lease. That isn't deterring some bidders however, because as we all know, "things change." Some want to go through the process knowing that they have virtually no chance, just so that they gain experience in the process which might lead to an advantage the next time a team is on the market. Others are bidding "just in case" something falls through with Pegula. That is, we could wake up to a news story that T Pegs was arrested for funding terrorist operations in Western Africa or something crazy like that which would take him out of the running.
  3. I've never been to SJF when it's rained but the practice fields are outside and the seats/bleachers are not covered. I assume that they would still practice, but then you'd be getting wet unless you're in one of the VIP tents.
  4. I think if EJ has to throw 30+ it'll be because of the Bills defense, not because of the opposition's D. I can only see that many attempts in a shootout. No EJ probably isn't going to the pro bowl - but If a DC is going to keep stacking the box, every WR is capable of taking the top off. I think EJ won't hesitate to let it rip this year- especially with explicit instructions form Hackett.
  5. I don't really blog or anything but I wrote my predraft season prediction here: http://handlaz.wordpress.com/2014/04/24/19-0/ WARNING: NSFW language
  6. All the RBs have looked decent. It's tough to tell because it's mostly subject to how the lines play and they aren't always going 100%. I've been most impressed by Boobie Dixon. He's way faster than advertised and seems to have good hands. Dixon is also quick and made some nice jump cuts. The only play in 11 on 11s that stuck out to me was CJ turning the corner on what looked like a counter and he flashed his home run speed. His ankle seems fine tho. He has his speed and was cutting well. Fred initiated some contact as usual and looked good until getting dinged up. Brown took a shot on a swing pass. Didn't notice him too much tonight, but showed a lot of speed on Sunday. Frank Summers dropped a pass when he was wide open about the yards down the field with lots of room ahead of him. Didn't notice Wingo or Rodriguez outside of positional drills.
  7. So I was at camp again tonight and the D lined up in "multiple/hybrid" fronts and blitzed often. Plenty of nickel corner blitzes. Plenty of stunts. The O line even had trouble going 11 on 9 with only two d linemen rushing the passer. Dareus looked fine and was a beast against the run.
  8. At Sunday's practice they seemed to line up either in basically a "traditional" 4-3 over or in a 4-2-5 Nickel the majority of the time. What was interesting to me is that one of the ends was frequently in a standing position, so some of the 4-3 looks looked like a 3-4. I'm going to camp again tonight so I'll be sure to take note. I heard that since Sunday Schwartz has been more aggressive and blitzing out of different packages and I'm excited to see for myself.
  9. Robert Duffy ‏@LtGovDuffyNY 8m Note to prospective owners: BUFFALO Bills. Don't pick this fight.
  10. Boobie showed he's got some wheels at camp. I think many here will be pleasantly surprised when they see him in the preseason. Yes, he's got the size but he's also shifty and gets upfield in a hurry.
  11. The Sabres are in a similar boat. How nice would it be to have a stretch of two powerhouse squads in Buffalo?
  12. The commissioner gets to play as the Bills - Who's volunteering? I wonder if there'd be any interest in doing an online franchise with a fantasy draft. So if you're the Bears, for example, you can still draft a bunch of Bills to be on your team. I always play as the Bills in online head to head so I actually like being other teams in franchise mode so I can use different players and make trades and such. Especially when there's a fantasy draft and can build the team from the bottom up.
  13. Haha I know He was imported from the college game and was assigned 12 and I just kept it until they announced he was 14- which he is in the video vs the Jets. I'm also all for a league of TBDers and/or a Madden thread.
  14. can't wait for all this to become a reality
  15. Any Eric Wood sighting? Just saw on twitter that Legursky was starting at C?!?
  16. Link didnt work but this one does: http://jimrome.com/2014/07/21/doug-marrone/ "I'm fired up!"
  17. Actually, it was pretty much a coincidence. The group he sold to was buying up a ton of land and the sale had been in the works for months. It doesn't matter tho, Pegula had enough liquid cash before that and he still has other land primed for drilling/fracking that he could sell if he felt like it. He was simply taking advantage of a rush on shale basins in that area.
  18. Funny. Like Buddy Nix on Cordy Glenn, "We see him as a guard." Tony Pauline @TonyPaulineFollow Back from combine workout. Bills scout commented earlier, "Cyrus Kouandjio say goodbye to round one"...sluggish, slow & totally unprepared. http://q.usatoday.co...ferian-jenkins/ http://profootballta...some-physicals/
  19. McCoy must've been hurt or something because 4.5 40 is in no way indicative of his speed
  20. Oh I realize that- I just thought it was worth mentioning that they don't have to hurry while running a no-huddle. I think that with their personnel and their packages, they should push the pace the majority of the time. I also think that people wouldn't be so critical of the no-huddle if we had seen better execution last year. Moving the chains and putting up points are the most important things, regardless of the tempo. I'm glad that this is what the Bills are aspiring to do- be unstoppable. Quite a far cry from Jauron's "play not to lose" mentality.
  21. No-huddle ≠ Hurry up They can run no-huddle the entire game. The key is getting to the line quickly, but there's no reason they need to snap the ball right away.
  22. I think that group was led by George Gillett, but then his came out in May: http://bills.buffalonews.com/2014/05/02/george-gillett-expected-bid-bills/
