  1. I'm surprised we didn't go for an inline blocker. I think our TE's catch the ball well. They're not thrown to enough, but they don't set any linemen on their butts.
  2. Pianalto was the best of the leftover TE's. We had him going as a UDFA or 7th Rounder. He's a better receiver than blocker.
  3. When watching Dareus I kept seeing this guy and thinking, "He looks great. Wonder if it is Dareus that's making him look good." If they're both on the Bills, it won't matter!
  4. Elder is reporting Vai Taua, Nevada's RB, will sign with the Bills. He helped Nevada beat Boise State, but I won't hold that against him...
  5. What a great tribute to your Mom! Peace be with you. Astro
  6. RT-TE-CB-OLB-QB-ILB-LT I'm more optimistic about LB than most. I like Poz with the better DL, the draft (Sheppard White), Coleman, Moats, and the brass are high on Batten. Add Merriman (I like his tweets about his recent workouts and his perception that he's in great shape), and LB's who aren't injured (Davis and Torbor). We haven't seen what Wannstache brings, and we haven't seen what a non-injured Merriman-Davis-Torbot-Batten can do.
  7. I dunno. I think he's one of our own that we keep. 1. WannStache gets a chance to work his magic. 2. He'll have better DT's in front of him eating up linemen. 3. He'll have Kelvin Sheppard/Andra Davis next to him this season (IMHO) 4. Poz wants to come back:
  8. I'd take Kevin Boss at TE and give up the 3rd for Mike Adams. In June, Hog Haven said this:
  9. I'd be happy with Thigpen/Chappell. I thought about Vick, but the chemistry is so good on this team right now that they don't need a distraction at QB, no matter if Gailey can work his magic. Lombardo (NFL Network?) said Vick's optimum spot to land would be in BUF with Gailey.
  10. Fully Agree. In 2010, the Bills had 9 CB at St. John Fisher. We have only 5 currently, 2 of whom are unsigned: Corner McGee McKelvin Rogers--not signed yet Williams--not signed yet We'll be active in the CB market, both FA and UDFA, and a possible trade.
  11. The above post is my dream scenario. We can't sign all of them; just my proposal. I like Boss b/c of his blocking ability in-line, and we already have good pass-catching TE's (actually our TE's have the highest thrown to/caught percentage in the NFL). They are just underused as receivers. I like two FB's on the roster especially in Nov-Dec. And I like Devlin. 12. What if the Jets go after Cromartie? They can't keep Holmes-Edwards and sign Cro, can they?
  13. 14. I predict Adams is going to be taken by the *New England Patriots. He'd be worth taking as early as our RD2, There were many indications before he earned his 5-game suspension for the upcoming season that he'd have gone that early, and possibly as early as RD1#28.
  15. Scott, May God provide you with strength during this difficult time. She will be with you forever in spirit. Astro
  16. I agree it will be Luck-Tannehill, but the wild cards will be whether Barkley and Landry Jones come out after their Junior years. Also whether Oklahoma runs the table with Jones. There are 2 first round Seniors, but count on at least 4 if Barkley-Tannehill come out. Astro Bills Analyst, DraftTek
  17. http://www.drafttek.com/consolidatednfldraft-stillwithteam.asp Miami and Chicago's drafts 3 years ago bit the weenie. Wouldn't even compare with the Bills' Maybin draft.
  18. Some undrafteds culled from the 'net: Quarterbacks:- We'll take at least one 1. Adam Froman (Louisville) 2. Taylor Potts (Texas Tech) 3. Adam Weber (Minnesota) - Bills seem interested 4. Josh Portis (California, Pa.) 5. Scott Tolzien (Wisconsin) Tight Ends - May take one; unlikely we'll add a vet IMHO 1. Andre Smith (Virginia Tech) -6'5" 270lbs 2. Schuylar Oordt (Northern Iowa) 3. Collin Franklin (Iowa State) 4. Weslye Saunders (South Carolina) 5. Zach Pianalto (North Carolina) Inside Linebackers - Maybe one of these, although they like what they have 1. Jeff Tarpinian (Iowa) - had a private visit to Buffalo 2. Mario Harvey (Marshall) 3. Nick Bellore (Central Michigan) 4. Cobrani Mixon (Kent State) - Bills went to his Pro Day 5. Alex Wujciak (Maryland) Offensive Tackles - For a PS project 1. Willie Smith (East Carolina) 2. David Mims (Virginia Union) 3. Derek Hall (Stanford) 4. Matt Murphy (UNLV) - Bills worked him out OLB Mark Herzlich, OLB (Boston College) Keith Darbut, OLB (Baldwin-Wallace) 6-4 229lbs - Bills went to his Pro Day MISC Kendric Burney, DB (North Carolina) - for ST Josh Gaitlin, CB (N. Dakota State) - sub 4.4 forty Brian Lainhart, FS (Kent State) - Bills went to his Pro Day
  19. I think Lee Evans and Stevie J are going to get a lot of attention, and I think you'll see a lot more from TE Scott Chandler and, quite possibly, Shawn Nelson or David Martin (the biggest of the TE's). The Bills TE's are #1 in the NFL in thrown at/caught percentage. David Nelson and Donald Jones looked like the real deal, Roscoe's back, and Marcus Easley is too. Paul Hubbard at 225 lb. is the biggest WR. Local kid Naaman Roosevelt is an expert on sideline fades. Who will be the top 4 in catches this season, and why? List 4 in order. My Four: 1. Stevie Johnson - great knack for getting open, great YAC. 2. Lee Evans - Drops to here b/c he'll still be double-teamed 3. David Nelson - Could even be second on the team benefiting from the attention on Stevie and Lee 4. Scott Chandler - Bigger role this season
  20. Some of the passes he caught this year were works of art. I'd be pleased to wear #13. David Nelson and Donald Jones will both have more than 6 TD's this season, in part because of the attention paid to Stevie.
  21. How about Martin, LOT at #13, Egnew TE at #41, and Baker Steinkuhler DE at #84? Steinkuhler. What a great name; why wouldn't parents go for a better first name, like Labatt, Miller, Pilsner, or Bud? I think by 4/12, Andrew Datko at RT will be available in RD2 and Egnew will rise to late 1st RD.
  22. Add Coleman, Moats, and Batten, all of whom went to meetings during their injuries.
  23. San Diego signed Clabo to its practice squad Oct. 5, 2004 and released him 6 days later.
