  1. Their analyst has strongside ILB and 4-3 OLB ranked as P2 needs, and the highest defensive priority on his board. Graham is a DE who hasn't played yet, Babin is a DE already in his 8th year and has only 2 sacks this season, and Cole is a DE in his 7th year. He's doing well. On my latest simulator run, Philly switched to Luke Kuechly ILB. Burfict went earlier to Carolina at #11.
  2. I could see Burfict outside. Burfict will go right around #17 in RD1 (slated with Philly in the latest DraftTek mock). He's a wild card of a personality, who has really fast closing speed. However, he's had penalties for head-butts, taunting, unsportsmanlike, hitting Marecic helmet to helmet, going after Barkley's knee, etc. He has ignored his coach and refused to come out of the game. Great coverage, great pass rusher, great instincts and muthah hits. But his disregard for the smart play goes against "don't be dumb, don't be dirty." I like Zach Brown (NC OLB). We have him going #16 a lot. Closes quickly, seals the outside well, piles on. He's more of a 4-3 LB. I'd like to see him diagnose a bit faster, cover closer on receivers obviously in his zone, and add some weight without sacrificing his best asset, speed. If I had to take a NC linebacker, I'd take Hightower.
  3. http://www.drafttek.com/CMDRound1_17-32.asp Scroll down to Pick 25 and read my comments.
  4. Just showing you that both would be available at #18
  5. Put it this way. I'd rather have Dareus then Jenkins/Upshaw in successive years than Von Miller/Crick or Still or Ta'amu.
  6. Brandon Jenkins to the Bills at RD1#18, Michael Floyd to the Bears at #19. I'd still take Jenkins given our OLB needs PLUS the availability of good WR's through RD6. 1 18 Buffalo Brandon Jenkins OLB34 Florida State P1 1 19 Chicago Michael Floyd WRF Notre Dame P2
  7. Poe, Lewis and Paige-Moss are great players, but of the three, Poe is the only one who's suited to the 3-4 defense. CB projections there are: late 3rd: Donnie Fletcher CB Boston College, Micah Hyde CB Iowa early 4th: Brandon Boykin CB Georgia mid-late 4th: Shaun Prater Iowa, Leonard Johnson Iowa State, Desmond Trufant Washington Johnson played extremely well last night. Watch his stock go up, as he was partly responsible for the Iowa State upset over Okla State.
  8. Wait for WR in this draft...it's deep. I think there are some gems like Stevie was. Who knows where they'll end up by April but I like these 7 guys if they end up RD3 or later: , Illinois , Baylor , Stanford , WVU , Washington , Arkansas , VaTech
  9. 3 trooths, Doctor! I think we take care of the OLB34 problem first round next year, and maybe again in RD3 with or Andre Branch. In between in RD2 we have a dilemma, with talent at other positions being there. DraftTek's simulator would have these guys there at our RD2 pick: Johnthan Banks CB Mississippi State Tyler Wilson QB Arkansas Stephen Hill WRF Georgia Tech Jeff Fuller WRF Texas A&M Montee Ball RBF Wisconsin Robert Lester FS Alabama Jerel Worthy DT43 Michigan State Don'ta Hightower ILB Alabama Travis Lewis OLB43 Oklahoma Coryell Judie CB Texas A&M Dontari Poe NT Memphis Dwayne Allen TE Clemson Manti Te'o ILB Notre Dame Donte Paige-Moss DE43 North Carolina Coby Fleener TE Stanford Andrew Datko OT Florida State I like Dontari Poe, a true DT34 in RD2 who was named to ESPN's Strongest College Football Players top 10. (Kendall Reyes could be there, but he is too light--another Kyle Williams in build)
  10. If I had my choice of the CB's vs pass rushers in RD#1 and 2, I'd pick the pass rusher in RD#1...if his name is Courtney Upshaw (read what I said about him when the DraftTek computer picked him for us) or Brandon Jenkins. OLB34 in the middle of RD#2 looks lean right now, while CB in RD#2 looks good. CB's from the simulator in RD#2: Chase Minnifield Virginia Johnthan Banks Mississippi State Coryell Judie Texas A&M Stephon Gilmore is there too, but I don't like his lack of aggressiveness, takes bad angles, not as "football fast" as Minnifield, Banks, or Judie.
  11. This is the problem. Bell out, Kyle Williams out, Hairston out, Wood out, season done. Dareus is one piece of the future pressure on the QB, but so was Kyle Williams. That's a draft priority and a FA priority. A large press-beating WR is also a draft and FA priority. Shep needs experience, Batten needs experience, Carrington needs experience. You also need depth everywhere except RB and possibly FS. Yes, you need a QB to groom, and a OLB that's fast and mean, and so on. How do you prioritize these needs?
  12. 6 of our last 8 games are against teams below us in the power rankings. The Jets have the easiest time of it here on out, and NEP* is in the middle. We need to win 5 of the 6 games against teams below us (2-1 in the next three games, our toughest stretch).
  13. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052970204224604577030311626337808.html?mod=wsj_share_tweet Might be out as a buyer of the Bills...
  14. Not to be outdone, the Cowboys have put their kicker on IR. 7 minutes ago: #Cowboys put K David Buehler on injured reserve because of groin injury, ending his season. #bills #nfl -dmz
  15. Do we want to move Wide Receiver to a high priority? Even with OLB, or just behind OLB?
  16. Doing something creative or physical helped. I did some video editing and raked leaves. I tried the drinking last year. Didn't work.
  17. Very close, Bill! There are nine. From my positional needs thread: RD#1 Morris Claiborne LSU CB, Don'ta Hightower ILB Alabama or Courtney Upshaw OLB34 Alabama RD#2 Josh Chapman DT43 Alabama RD#3 Nico Johnson OLB43 Alabama RD#4 Barrett Jones OG Alabama RD#4 William Vlachos OC Alabama RD#5 Deangelo Peterson TE LSU RD#6 Marquis Maze WR Alabama
  18. I think we needed Justin Blackmon today, not Lee Evans. Blackmon has 87 catches for 1039 yards. Against K-State, he had 13 receptions, 205 yards, 15.8 ypc. I watched him open the middle of the field for other WR's and guys out of the backfield, and said to myself, "That's what the offense needs." Then I saw where DraftTek had picked him in the most recent draft. It's too late to Suck for Luck; is it too late to Slack On for Blackmon?
  19. Great post. It isn't a call for drafting OT in RD#1, since Bell-Hairston are injured, and Levitre played out of position. I'd like to see a field-stretching WR. I'd like a better Plan B at QB in case Fitz is injured. And I'd like better edge-sealing than I saw from our OLB/DE's today.
  20. That looks like a fun challenge. The problem is, LSU is so young. I have Claiborne on D and Peterson on O coming out this year. RD#1 Morris Claiborne LSU CB, Don'ta Hightower ILB Alabama or Courtney Upshaw OLB34 Alabama RD#2 Josh Chapman DT43 Alabama RD#3 Nico Johnson OLB43 Alabama RD#4 Barrett Jones OG Alabama RD#4 William Vlachos OC Alabama RD#5 Deangelo Peterson TE LSU RD#6 Marquis Maze WR Alabama Using all the more fun games to watch from Saturday night: RD#1 Justin Blackmon WRF Oklahoma State RD#2 Tyler Wilson QB Arkansas or Robert Griffin QB Baylor RD#3 Nate Potter OT Boise State RD#4 Brandon Weeden QB Oklahoma State RD#4 Greg Childs WRP Arkansas RD#5 George Iloka FS Boise State RD#6 Zach Hanson OL KSU RD#7 Jesse Williams DT Alabama UDFA Tramain Thomas FS Arkansas But no, I wouldn't want just LSU-Alabama defensive players in my draft. Yep. We have him as the 4th pick right now. Round1
  21. DraftTek's computer found a player for the Bills at OLB34, Courtney Upshaw. Upshaw wasn't all that during the LSU game, but he plays big, fast, and seals the edge well. He had a sack Saturday night, and Bleacher Report said Upshaw was the game's best player (which I think was Mathieu). Round 1, Picks 1-16 Picks 17-32, including the Bills' pick I think an RD#1 case could be made for another feature WR, a road-grader Tackle, and more CB help (could McGee have used press coverage more?) Let's hear it. Has our thinking changed about needs after the Jets beatdown? Astro
  22. Donald Jones a non-factor so far. I'm impressed with Nelson. Verdict: Watch for Namaan in the 3rd quarter.
